Author's note: This takes place after The Sword In the Stone part 1

How the hell did I get into this situation?

I'm dressed like an idiot.

I'm being addressed as a 'Simpleton'.

I'm in the middle of a camp of people I don't know.

I'm in the middle of the freaking woods with people I don't know.

I'm having to act like the so called 'Simpleton' just to preserve my identity as the King.

I'm being attacked for that very identity and rebuked by a Smuggler I have never met for ruining his very life.

And why?

Because my damned Uncle is a Bastard!

Because Morgana is so revenge ridden that she couldn't be happy with what she had.

Because Merlin is such a Dimwit.

If I had of just trusted Merlin in the first place like I always have, then I wouldn't be in this situation.

If I had just seen the suspicious acts for what they were.

If I had just acted when I could have.

Nothing would be as it is now.

Except...

If it weren't for my Uncle Agravaine...

If it weren't for Morgana...

If it weren't for the Knights of Camelot...

If it weren't for the Smugglers...

If it weren't for Merlin...

I never would have seen her again...

My dear Gwen...

Whatever possessed me to banish you.

I would change that day a thousand times over if I thought that it would change the betrayal you felt at my words.

I'm so sorry...

If we survive this time of running...

If we survive the retaking of Camelot...

I will make you my Queen.

And damn any who dare to protest.

I promise to take back my Throne, to take back Camelot, to take back my Kingdom, to take back my life, and to take back my Queen.

Author's Note: I hope you enjoyed this little...rant I guess you could call it. I felt I had to write something up for this episode as it was so brilliant. I feel bad for Arthur in some respects, but he did find the love of his life again! And Gwaine rocks! I'm not entirely sure if that is how you spell his name, but so be it. He is drop dead gorgeous and so true to the Knight's ways.

Please review and let me know what you thought!
