The Unlucky Day
Chelsea slumped into the swishy chair in front of the fire place, tears running down her face. The fire was crackling merrily, despite the late hour but Chelsea still shook as if she had a chill. Chelsea's best friend Fay sympathetically patted her shoulder in response to Chelsea's mood.
"There, there." Fay said. "You'll do fine on your test." Instead of the desired effect, Chelsea's tears started flowing more and she placed her face in her hands and started to sob again.
'Darn,' Fay thought 'I just got her to stop sobbing like I killed her dog five seconds ago.'
This had been going on for several hours, and as far as Fay could tell was not going to end any time soon.
"It's worth twenty five percent of our final grade." She hiccupped. "St- Stupid McGonagall, holding the t- test on that day of all d- days. I know I'm going t- to fail." Chelsea continued to cry.
Fay didn't know what to do, should she get a teacher? No, what sort of friend would foist to somebody else? Not a very good one. Plus it didn't seem very Gryffindor like, running away. She handed her hanky to her friend instead of leaving like she really wished she could and ordered her to blow.
"Why don't you go talk to Professor McGonagall about this Friday the 13th problem you have. She may let you do the test a day early." Fay said with slight desperation. Her friend was starting to worry her. Was it normal for somebody to cry this much and get this hysterical over a test that hadn't happened yet?
Just than Chelsea started rocking herself back and forth muttering "I'm going to f- fail and then I'll be kicked out of H- Hogwarts." That was the last straw. Fay didn't care how stressful O.W.L. year was; most people didn't act this way, especially at the beginning of the year. The school year had only started two months ago, if this was how she was acting now, how was she going to cope with all the school work at the end of the year?
With a 'come here and help me' signal to a nearby Hermione Granger; the only student still awake at twelve at night, she led her best friend out of the common room and towards the Hospital wing. Between her and Hermione, hopefully they would be able to get her there quickly.
