Brennan flipped open her phone to call Zach. She started dial his number when Kent pulled out his gun. With his weapon in one hand he grabbed the phone with the other. With Kent's gun in her face, Brennan was fear that he would loss control of vehicle. She didn't know what to do, any sudden movements she could have a bullet in her head. If she tried to attack Agent Kent she knew they could go off the road. She held her hands tight trying to make a plan to save her life.
Across town Booth laid in a hospital bed. IV's and bandages strapped him into the uncomfortable bed. With Hodgins stealing his pudding, he was in a bad mood. Not only he was worried about his partner, he had a bad feeling in his gut. He was not listening to Jack, but when he said "corrupt government officials" the facts clicked. Booth ripped out his IVs, and unstrapped the monitors that held him hostage. He started to slowly stand up.
'I gave her to a monster.' Booth thought as he was trying to slip his grey hoodie on.
Pulling Brennan from the car, Kent dragged her toward the abandoned building. She was helpless to try to escape with her hands tied behind her back. The building had been unused for many years and was located in a secluded area of town. As they made their way deeper into the building the sound of barking dogs got louder, there were dogs were chained to the wall. They reached the room that would most likely be the last place she would ever be in again. Hoping to catch Kent off guard Brennan plans her first wave of attacks. With her knowledge of the human body and her martial arts training she hopes that she is well matched for the agent.
Booth screamed at Hodgins driving through back alleyways. All he could think of was Brennan and how he wanted to take her away from all the horrible people and things in the world. He wanted to keep her safe. But, he knew how she would react to that. She would never stop doing want she does just because it's dangerous.
Kent finished tying the gag around Brennan's mouth. She's afraid this is the end. Her hands are tied above her head, almost hanging out of her seat, nobody knows where she is and she will end up like another one of Kent's victims. Kent makes the knife jagged with two bricks and pulls his gun out. Brennan starts to scream. She knows it is illogical – nobody will hear her in this building, Booth can't save her now.
With flashlights and guns leading the way from room to room, Booth gets antsier to find Brennan. As a flashlight passes over a metal object, he stops and sees that it's her keys. Pushing his way through fear of her already dead, he moves on. Through a hole in the wall Booth sees Kent holding a gun to Brennan's head.
Brennan squeezes her eyes shut knowing that his is her last moment in her life. A shot rings out and Brennan eyes opened to see Agent Kent falling to the warehouse floor. Looking around to see who took the shot the spots Booth shuffling toward her.
He pulls off the gag and tries to lift her off the chains. In his weakened condition all he can do is duck his head between her arms and maneuver so that her arms fall over his head and onto his shoulders.
"It's okay, it's okay Bones." He whispers as she sobs into his shoulder. "Everything fine now, don't worry." Booth reassures her.
"Thanks Booth. Thanks-and." Brennan pulled away and looked into his warm brown eyes. "I love you."
Booth was not in shock but with the emotion in his heart he stared back. He pressed his lips against hers.
With a passionate kiss Booth pulls away. "I love you too." Brennan's heart stood on a ledge on a ledge taking the risk of saying those three words, but with Booth's response she was now safe in the comfort of his arms.
