Harry Potter and The Last Resort

2011

Beyond the realm of the Living, a whole world existed, those awaiting their families who were alive. It happened once in a century when a person is given a second chance to repair his mistakes, the person's memories are sent back to an age they choose beyond magical maturity. But, unfortunately this comes at a high price; a person who loves you enough to forsake his own existence has to sacrifice himself.

In all history, it happened to the Perevel Brothers, their lovers gave them a chance at the cost of their souls, then the second time it was Albus Dumbledore at the price of his dear sister Arianna. Then James Potter was given the opportunity which he refused to wait for his dear friend, brother in all but blood, Sirius Black.

The Magical world was in chaos when said man, Sirius Black died. He too had the chance to go back, but he would not let anyone give their soul for him unless dire circumstances arose. But they had worried for nothing. The war ended with the death of Lord Voldemort at the hands of Harry James Potter-Black, son of James Potter and Lily Evans Potter, godson of the first escapee of Azkaban, Sirius Black.

Life continued to flourish in the world of living, when on Lily Luna Potter's wedding to Frank Hadrian Longbottom, disaster struck. An experiment went wrong in the muggle world, creating as a by-product, something inexistent before, anti-magic. This annihilated all existence of magic in the world, it be wizards, magical creatures, sentient animals, squibs, muggles descending from squibs, plants with healing or destructive properties, objects which have been around for centuries thus accumulated bits of magic, like the Taj Mahal.

Everyone was of the opinion that a non-magical world was of no worth. Harry Potter, father of three and grandfather of two, gave his soul to allow his godfather to go to the past and prevent the disaster. Lily Evans gave hers for her husband.

James Potter and Sirius Black had been close in life, but half a century of death brought them even closer, like twins. They had matured into responsible men and were bitter about what happened to the people they had loved as a wife for James and as a son for Sirius.

Both thought that as they had all knowledge of everything that was going to happen, why not try to build a better life for those who had been destroyed? They had pledged themselves to a task and they would complete it, even if they had to lose their family.
