Dick – 16 Jason – 13

Jason joined Alfred in the car a few minutes after Dick got in, his head not where it usually was. Seeing his stunned state actually made Dick worry for him so he bothered to ask. "Okay, Jay. What's up?"

"Huh?" The teen looked to his brother, only snapping out of it a little. They only had a few minutes before the elementary kids came in. Best to get this out of the way quickly.

Dick sighed. "You're out of it. What's going on? Did someone ask you out?"

Quickly Jason shook his head, getting a little more into the game. "No! No… nothing like that. Just…"

He fell silent for a moment, then looked over to Alfred who was very obviously 'not listening'. Well, maybe the old man would understand. "I… was asked a very awkward question last period."

"What kind of question?"

He rubbed the back of his head, trying to find something to do with his hands. "Ah… well… you know the game…" Jason looked back to Alfred again and swallowed. "Kiss, Marry, Kill?"

"Don't you mean -"

"Rule 6." He inclined his head to their chauffeur and Dick immediately understood the edit.

"Ah. They're playing it in your class too?"

"Yep." Jason looked down, remembering the choices he was given last.

"Who were your options?" Dick couldn't help smiling. If Jason really had to make an awkward call, it may mean a sexual awakening.

"Superman, Batman, and Bruce Wayne."

Dick's heart stopped for a second and they were certain they heard Alfred snort. He slumped back into his seat while Jason withered a bit. "Yeah. I couldn't answer."

"They do know Bruce adopted you, right?"

"I think they expected me to say 'Kill' for him."

"Right…"

"I believe," Alfred started in the front seat, "that they just wished to make things awkward for you, Master Jason. Pay them no mind."

"Right…"

Dick fell into a similar stupor as Jason, not knowing how to answer suck a harmless joke of a question at school. Eventually someone would ask something like this in the future and he had to be ready. But when asked if both Batman and Bruce were options – not likely but still possible – he had to have some kind of answer or be seen as weird. Hopefully, it'd be the PG version as it was okay to kiss a parent figure, but if it were the other…

His head fell into his hands as he continued to try to find a solution that didn't tie him in knots. He looked over to Jason who, despite Alfred's words, was still worrying over it in his own quiet way. "We are not talking about this later."

"Nope. Not ever." His brother shook his head, trying to get the idea out of it.

"We can't even joke about this."

"I feel like puking even saying it."

"Please not in the car, Master Jason."

Both boys nodded in agreement. Hopefully, the game never reached the League. It'd be very awkward if it ever did.

Over in Star City, a young redheaded archer was joking around on a rooftop with his mentor in green. "Okay, but seriously, F***, Marry, Kill: Batman, Lex Luthor, or Bruce Wayne?"

A/N: HEY THERE! Been a while! Need to update the timeline but whatever. I got this idea for the story from a post on FB where the League while not knowing who Batman is plays this game and decide to use Bruce Wayne as one of the celebrity choices. I refer to the PG version because I hate f-bombs, but it also changes the meaning of the game so I can't ignore it entirely. I thought it'd be really awkward if any of the batkids were asked this question so here it is! And Alfred's internally laughing. Best way to end it was to bring in Roy and Ollie, just a little.

In other news, I'm also posting DNB on AO3 (same name, and unless they're speaking French or barely dressed, Glimare is always me) and I'm getting closer to Jason's first arc based on 'Death in the Family'. It's going to be a bit of work making it into a single piece when I did it originally in small bites. I need a name for the arc and so far I can't come up with anything. One person suggested 'Dangerous Smiles and Painted cl/frowns', but it's pretty long. Any ideas? Please comment and help me out.

Will I be posting more soon? NO IDEA! Mostly been reading and playing video games lately and been mentally working on my original works. I should type more...
