Not the End.
Ahh this has taken so long to get out! I'm real sorry guys! This is THE last chapters, so I'd like to say thanks to all you guys who've read and reviewed it :) I hope you'll read the sequel!
After 2 weeks in Zell am See for our honeymoon, Cally and I went back to America to wait for when we could go home. Pink and Jen had been looking after the twins, and Pink grudgingly told us Jen was now really broody. Cally told her to wait until they got back to the future, seeing as there was pain medication for childbirth, something which Cally never forgave me for not having. I mean it. She's still not forgiven me. 10 years later.
Well anyway, we'd just gotten back to America, and after picking up the girls and getting settled into the house we were sharing with my dad, we decided to go see my mother, since after this I'd never see them again.
We pulled up at her house at about 3 o'clock. We'd left the girls with my dad, so they wouldn't get attached.
The first thing my family did when we walked in, was give Cally the most murderous looks in the world. She noticed them, and ducked her head like she was something to be ashamed of. Walking into the living room, we both stopped in our tracks. Cally stared at me, I stared at Cally, and the unexpected guest in my mother's house stared at us.
"What the fuck?" Cally asked bluntly.
"Is that any language for a lady?" My mother glared at her, with disapproving lacing her every word.
"Sure it is when your husband's ex is standing in front of you." she replied, glaring at Jean. Jean glared back at her and swished right through the middle of us, running her hand up my thigh. I jerked away from her, frowning malevolently at her. Cally glared too, but at my mother. I couldn't understand why my mother would invite Jean around, especially when she knew what I'd been through with her and Cally. I mean, yeah at one point, we all liked Jean, but after what she'd done to me, my family should've stood by me. Now that I was married to my best friend and the love of my life, and that we had two children and already planning more, they should accept her, not want her out. I'd never see most of my family again, all I wanted was for them to accept her.
Cally shook her head. I knew she wanted so much to fight them and what they were saying, but my Cally had grown up so much since I had met her back in Toccoa. She was mature and sensible, and instead of fighting, she walked out.
"Cally! Cal!" I called, jogging out after my young wife. She stopped as she got down the front steps and turned around on her heels.
"I'm sorry Roy, I just.. I just... ugh..." she apologised, shaking her head.
"There's no need to apologise to me Cally." I told her, kissing her head and pulling her into a hug.
"Why is she even there? Oh I can't be bothered. Just tell 'em I smell ya later." she smiled slightly, waving me off and walking away down the street.
Cally.
I couldn't understand why Roy's mother had brought that two bit tart around when she knew I was coming. I was going to go spare, but I remembered that they were my elders and as my elders I was supposed to respect them. So I just walked out.
I was strolling down the street when a passing car pipped at me. I looked up, thinking it was for someone else, until the guy pulled up a few feet in front of me on the opposite side of the street and then got out.
"Jojo!" I grinned checking that there was no traffic, and then I crossed the road to see cabbie driver mate.
"Heya Cal! What brings you to my neck of the woods?" the lanky Jew grinned at me, pulling me into a one armed hug. I'd missed Joe, and it was great to see him again, even if it wasn't for long.
"I've been to see the witch, er, mother-in-law." I told him, shoving my hands in my dress pockets. Joe nodded with a smirk.
"Yeah, she seemed like a total ass at your wedding." he paused, "C'mon, I just got off shift, we'll go for a drive."
I hopped in the taxi, and we set off.
Roy.
I stormed back into the house, throwing open the doors as I came back into the living room.
"What the Hell are you thinking?!" I yelled at the three women sitting perfectly still on the sofa.
"Roy, I invited Jean here as a guest-"
"She's the one who messed up my god damn life! Ma, I'm married, I have two children, we're a family!"
"Roy, you know full well you wouldn't be a 'family' if you hadn't knocked her up. I know you wanted to do the right thing by her, but marrying her wasn't." Jean told me, with her sickly sweet voice.
"Look lady, you have no idea how I feel about Cally. I've loved her since I saw her, I've always planned to marry her, I've always wanted a family with her. She's got a heart of gold, and you, you have a heart of stone. She'd loyal and you went around and slept with my best friend! She'd never ever do that to me. You think she wanted kids right now? She didn't, and it's my fault. But we wouldn't give those girls up for the damn world. As for getting married, I was going to marry her before she got pregnant. I asked months before we slept together. The girls, well they just came a little earlier than we both planned."
The three women, just stared at me. I could care less.
"I've done with you. I'm never going to bother with you again, and Cal, and our girls and my dad, are leaving for good."
I didn't wait for any replies. I just up and left. I went for a drive around for a few hours before I went home.
When I got home, I found someone I didn't expect to be there.
"Oh Roy, where have you been? We've been waiting ages for you." Cally grinned at me.
"Uh, hey Roy." Joe smiled, with a little wave.
"Hey Joe." I smiled back.
That night we had dinner with the rough and tough Joe Leibgott. The girls loved him, and he loved the girls. We were all sad that we'd never see him again.
It was finally time to leave. I saw a lot of the guys get emotional, as we all said good bye. This was where we'd grown up, where we'd loved, where we'd fought, where we were born. But there was the part of us that was excited. We'd be going into the unknown, to start a new life, with our new families. And we couldn't wait.
