"Bow down to me." The cold man hissed. She looked up at him, anger evident in her eyes. "Never." She spat.
He looked angry.
He swiftly pulled out his wand and growled, "I said, BOW DOWN TO ME! Crucio!" She fell to the floor as her skin felt as if it was being cut off into pieces by knives that were on fire. But she wouldn't, couldn't, show him weakness. She wouldn't give him the satisfaction. She held in the tears as the pain worsened. She bit her tongue, trying not to scream, making it bleed.
He laughed menacingly. He jerked his wand up, pulling her up as well. He jerked it back, pulling toward him. He yanked her left arm toward him. She was so weak she just couldn't fight back anymore; it was hopeless. He pushed the tip of his wand to her forearm, saying something in parcel tongue.
She screamed as a burning sensation ran up her arm. It felt like she put her arm in diesel fuel then put it in a fire. It felt as if her skin might melt off her arm, just leaving bone. He pulled his wand away and soon enough the awful burning stopped.
Voldemort smirked, running a boney finger down her cheek. "Welcome to the dark side, Hermione." She looked down in horror. It couldn't be true. But sure enough, it was there.
The dark mark would forever be etched on her skin.
