Chapter Eight: Coming Home

After their plane landed, they road Rogue's car back to the mansion, it had been parked in the airport parking lot over the weekend and it looked like they hadn't been missed seeing that it was still there and not reported missing or anything. If they were truly missed they wouldn't know for sure until they returned home.

Rogue planned to move into Remy's room as soon as she could once they made the announcement. It would have been better than kicking Kitty out of their room, besides Remy had a nice big room almost as big as her and Kitty's room with plenty of closet space. She planned to do a little redecorating even though he didn't know it yet.

They entered the mansion together and Remy had an insatiable need to kiss her, but for some reason she stopped him. "What's dis, de honeymoon already over?"

"Not on your life, Cajun," she said with a big smile on her, "but ah don't want anyone to see us."

"Den let's go to my room... no… our room," he said and she ran up the stairs with Remy chasing after her. They had left their bags in her car, not wanting anyone to know that they sneaked away without telling anyone.

As she reached the top of the stairs Rogue ran into Kitty who was crying. "Kitty, what's wrong?" she asked surprised to see her. She thought the girl would still be at her parent's home. "Did ya have a nice visit will ya folks?"

"Well, it started off okay… but then…" Kitty became even more hysterical ran off to their room.

Remy looked over at her and knew what this little scene meant. "Let me go see what wrong with Kitty, and then I'll meet ya in your room, okay?"

"I'll be waitin'," he said and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. He was disappointed, but one of the things he loved about Rogue is how she took care of her friends.

Rogue walked at a quick pace into her room that she shared with her best friend. When she stepped into the room she found Kitty lying out on her bed crying. She hated to see her best friend in pain.

"Alright," Rogue said coming up to sit on the edge of her bed. "What happened to make you so upset?"

"It's Lance. He's such an insensitive jerk." She moved to a half sitting position and reached for another tissue to blow her nose. "Everything was going fine, until Dad said we were having a barbeque."

"Lance at a barbeque? "Rogue couldn't picture Avalanche flipping burgers on an outside grill. A mental picture of him in a silly looking apron and oversized chief's hat came to mind. Rogue wanted to gag.

"Well, Dad insisted Lance help out. Everything was okay until I came out in my new bathing, because mom and dad just had a pool up in and I wanted to try it out. When I came out Lance just tried to give me a compliment, but my dad got mad and they got into an argument, and all hell broke loose."

"How much damage did he do?" Rogue had a feeling she knew where this going.

"Oh, only the whole back yard, he erupted the entire yard including mom's prize rose garden, the patio and walk way and my dad's $500 brand new grill ended up in the swimming pool, and all because Lance said I looked hot in my bathing suit."

"Oh, Kitty, I'm so sorry," Rogue said, putting her arm around her. She was wearing her leather gloves so Kitty had no idea she had just gotten married. "Well, did he at least apologize?"

"He tried, but Dad ordered him to leave or he was going to call the cops. I tried to go after him but we got into a huge fight and we..." she started crying again. "We broke up, and I think this time it's for good."

"Oh, Kitty, don't say that," Rogue said still trying to comfort her friend. "Look at me and Remy. We went through worst things, and look at us now."

"I know but Lance is blaming me. He said I pushed him into coming and visiting my parents when he didn't want to go. He said I'm trying to turn in to someone 'acceptable', whatever that means."

"Don't worry, Kitty, I'll have a talk with that boy and straighten him out," Rogue said and she looked like she was on a mission. She was happy, and she wouldn't tolerate her best friend not being happy.

"Thanks, Rogue," Kitty said as her friend got off the bed. "Ya cheer up and ah'll be back soon. That's an order."

Rogue left the room managing to get one little smile out of her. This shot Remy's plans to hell and Rogue was not happy about that. She wanted to tell Kitty so badly about her and Remy, but she just couldn't… not until she could fix things for her best friend.

When she reached Remy's room she saw that to door was ajar and stepped inside. "Miss me?" she asked and then she noticed the lights were down low and he had lit some candles. "Ah see ya did."

Before she knew it he was next to her with his arms around her. "Got ya all ta myself now," he said and leaned down to kissed her. She loved the feel of his lips on her and moaned softly.

She pulled away briefly giving a sigh of frustration. "This is gonna haveta wait," she said.

"What's wrong?" he asked and took her hand.

"It's Kitty," Rogue said. "She's all upset about her and Lance, and I have to do something."

"Didn't you tell her about us," he asked. "Dat news would cheer her up."

"How can ah tell her?" she said waving up her hands. "She and Lance just broke up over somthin' stupid and ah'm gonna fix it, even if I haveta drain every member of the brotherhood and drag him back here kicking a screaming and make him apologize."

"I feel sorry for that boy… almost," he said and put his arms around her. "Couldn't we have some private time before ya go over dere?" He was going to do anything he could to keep her from leaving, even trailing kisses up and down her neck.

"Remy, please, don't do that," she said but she gave very little protest.

"T'ought you liked Remy's kisses," he said making it up to her lips and giving her sweet light kisses all over her face.

"Ah do but ah gotta take care of this first," she said and broke away from him. "I'll be back soon." She blew him a kiss and left the room.
