Kura's POV
Okay… I know I should be helping Riz… but Jayden is driving me crazy! It's like trying to teach TWO newborn babies.
"Riz… listen up, we're going to teach you the meaning of 'life' once more."
Riz just tilted her head in confusion. "What is… 'life'? Isn't that… what you living creatures are?"
Jayden grumbled under her breath. "You're a living creature too, idiot. When are you going to realize that?"
I glared at her. "Jayden, be quiet." I snapped. "Calling Riz an idiot won't help anyone."
Riz blinked again, "What is 'idiot'? Is that like… some kind of blinker candy?"
I sighed, "No Riz… it's just a bad way of calling someone stupid."
Riz glared at Jayden, "I'm not stupid!"
"Could've fooled me." Jayden muttered.
"Jayden, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it." I frowned.
"Hey, I'm only stating the truth!" Jayden defended. "Besides, she doesn't know anything anymore, so she basically is an idiot!"
Riz hissed at her, I quickly had to stop her from launching at Jayden. "Calm down, Riz. Jayden! That wasn't very nice! We need to help her in this delicate matter! And calling her an idiot isn't helping at all! How would you like it if we called you an idiot just because your precious Mistress decided to erase all your memories?"
Jayden frowned at that, glaring at me. "What are you trying to say?" she demanded. "Mistress would never do that to me!"
"I don't care! You still don't need to call her an idiot!" I huffed before turning to Riz. "Okay, the first thing we need to teach you is…" my ears twitched when I heard something growling… it was Riz's stomach, when was the last time she ate? "We're going to teach you how to eat again!"
Riz seems… strangely uncomfortable with that, "E-eat? Th-that's very disturbing…"
Jayden looked half confused, half horrified at that…..figures… "How is eating disturbing?" she said, shocked. "It's the way we live! Besides, how can you forget all the delicious things we eat, like berries?"
Riz looked ready to gag. "You obviously don't understand much about the digestion system… then again I wouldn't expect you living creatures to really understand. Some of my best friends were once… your berries. They all got chomped into little pieces… swallowed, then melt in those stomach acids of yours and then proceed to get absorbed into your intestines, become a part of your energy or just waste of brown mush."
Both Jayden and I stared at her in horror… and disturbance. How could she even know all that with the way her mind is now anyway?
"Riz," Jayden started, looking highly disturbed. "How do you know that? And what gave you the idea to actually voice it out loud?! I'm not gonna eat for days because of that!"
Riz shrugged, "That's your problem. We objects don't need food to survive." she smiled proudly.
I never knew… eating would bother her so much…
"Listen Riz… you are a living creature! And that means you need to eat too! So you need to stop your silly fear of eating and stuff this berry in your mouth!" I put a Pecha Berry in front of her.
Riz looked at the berry, "What? Oh hi there Pecha… no I don't know why they think I should eat you since I can't."
"..." Jayden slowly looked at me. "Kura…..is she…..talking to the berry?"
I blinked in response, not really sure myself. "...you know," I said slowly. "I think she is…."
"...WHY THE HECK ARE YOU TALKING TO A BERRY, RIZ?!" Jayden suddenly shrieked. "IT'S NOT ALIVE!"
Riz glared at her, "Yes it is! It's living from the tree or bush you plucked it from, plants are living too you know! And why are you talking to a toy anyway?"
"You still think you're a toy?" I asked dryly.
Riz ignored her and began playing with the berry, "Pecha is a little lonely."
I sighed, "Riz… berries are indeed plants and probably alive… that is kinda disturbing to know… but they are meant to be eaten, that's why they grow, to help living creatures like us to survive. You understand?"
Riz frowned, "... I guess… otherwise they get old and rotten… well here, you eat it then."
"Nooo, we're teaching you how to eat again, and how to enjoy it." I frowned also. "You eat it."
"... I don't think I can… toys aren't really meant to eat unless they were made that way… I don't think I'm made that way… am I?" she asked, tilting her head in confusion.
…..you know what, how about I just play along with this. Perhaps she'll eat something if I say yes…. "Of course you are, Riz." I nodded. "You're made to eat berries. You chew them up and swallow them, just like us…..except….you're a…..toy…."
Riz looked ready to gag though, "Eew… swallow? That's gross." she stuck out her tongue as if she just smelled something awful. This is going to be harder than I thought… I hope Jayden doesn't lose her temper again and shove those berries down her throat.
"I still don't see how it's so gross." Jayden muttered to herself. "You take a berry, put it in your mouth, chew, swallow, there! Easy as that!" she looked up and frowned at Riz. "Why can't you understand that?!"
"I just don't like it." she shrugged.
Jayden then took a berry and put in her own mouth and began chewing before swallowing it, Riz cringed. "There, it's easy! Now you do it!"
Riz shook her head, "No way! You living creatures may be okay with it, but I'm not!"
"But Riz," I said, my patience slowly thinning. "You're a toy that eats, remember? That's what you're suppose to do."
Riz frowned, "..."
"And if you don't eat… that means you don't work… and you know what living creatures do to toys that are considered broken, right?" I smirked.
Riz sighed, "A-alright… but… uh.. I really don't… know how…"
"Then allow me to help you." I picked up a small berry to make it easy for her. "Now open your mouth."
Riz nodded and opened up… wow, her teeth are sharp… isn't she a carnivore? I think we all are, yet we're eating berries… must be a Mew thing.
"Alright, Riz." I said. "I'm going to place this berry in your mouth and I want you to close you're mouth, okay?" Riz nodded, and I placed the berry in her mouth, careful of her teeth. "Now...um...move your jaw up in down to chew. You use your teeth to press into the berry to chomp it into little pieces. Got it?"
Riz blinked as she closed her mouth, "Hmm… What are teeth?"
"Those things in your mouth that chomps food, now chomp."
Riz nodded and began chomping on the berry, she looked… puzzled at first, probably surprised by the taste of the berry, she kept chewing.
"I think you've chewed enough, now just swallow… You do know how, right? Just push the pieces to the back of your throat… your mouth and let it slide down." I explained, hoping she doesn't choke. Riz didn't look comfortable with that, but she did it anyway, mostly because it was probably hard to hold the liquid berry in her mouth much longer. "Well?"
"It was… an odd… sensation." she said slowly as if not knowing the right words for it.
"But it was good, right?" Jayden said hopefully. "You liked it?"
Riz tilted her head a bit as if thinking, "... Good… um… y-yeah, I think so…"
"You think so?"
"I mean it's just… odd." she said as she kept clicking her tongue, probably still wondering about the taste… does she even know what 'taste' is? "So, how do I get it back out? If I'm a toy that eats surely there's a way to get it back out, right?" she asked us… uh-oh...I hadn't thought this far out…
"Oh, um…." I looked at Jayden, panicked.
"...you're a special kind of toy!" Jayden blurted out.
"Huh?" Riz said, confused. "How am I special?"
"The food that you eat….it….um…." Jayden hesitated slightly. "It….dissolves into you! The toy creators wanted to make you act realistic as possible, so the food you eat is dissolved into your body."
"Jayden… I'm not sure if that was the best thing to tell her." I said.
"Why not?" she asked.
I pointed at Riz, who was paling and looking sick. "OH THAT POOR PECHA! I DIDN'T MEAN TO END YOU LIKE THAT!" she wailed loudly. I quickly grabbed another Pecha Berry.
"N-no! Calm down, Riz! You didn't end it, see? It's right here, Jayden was joking! It just… comes out… later." I said hesitantly, hoping I'm not making things worse by lying to her.
Riz stopped wailing but shook her head, "It's not the same one!" she said, pointing at the Pecha in my paws. "That one has a bruise on it!"
"R-right… because you may have bruised it… when it came back out." I said hoping it's a good cover. I looked over at Jayden, hoping she has an idea...we need her to feel comfortable to eat again or she'll starve to death. Jayden only looked back over at me, wide-eyed. Jeez, couldn't she think of an idea at all either? I thought two heads were better than one! …..well…..not when Jayden was one of them, I guess….
Riz frowned even more, "M-maybe I should just go to the trash…"
"No! No, look, you need to get comfortable with eating. I know you can do it, just munch on a few more… the first one is always tough, but it gets easier, trust me." I said, trying to coax her into it.
Riz looked at the berry, "A-are you s-sure?"
"Of course I'm sure." I said soothingly. "Just trust me on this, alright?"
Riz sighed but nodded, I think we're finally getting through to her. She picked up another berry and begins munching on it, after she swallowed she took another one… and another one… and another. Finally, she smiled, "They… um…"
"What?"
"They have a very delicate sense of… something on the wet spot in the mouth." she said.
"Uhhh… I think you mean it's sweet on the tongue." I translated.
"Sweet? … Tongue?"
"Gosh, do we have to explain everything to you?" Jayden complained.
I shot her a glare. "You're not even doing anything!" I exclaimed. "I'm the one teaching her everything!"
Jayden scowled in response. "Whatever." she muttered.
"Come on Jayden, at least try to work with me here! Maybe Riz's memory will come back faster!" I said feeling angered by her laziness.
The shiny Eevee rolled her eyes. "You really think that will work, Kura?" Jayden challenged. "Do you have absolute confidence that that will help?"
I frowned. What was she getting at? "W-well…" I hesitated.
"No, you don't!" Jayden smirked. "But I have a plan that's foolproof! Mistress can-"
"HEY! You two need to stop fighting! You're supposed to be friends!" Riz suddenly snapped, sounding an awfully lot like her old self.
Jayden glared at her. "Hey, you be quiet!" she snapped back. "We're actually trying to help you!"
"By fighting with each other? And why are you always talking about this 'Mistress'? Who is she anyway?" Riz demanded… well one thing didn't change about her; she has a short temper.
Jayden's eyes lit up and I groaned. Great, now we're going have a long stupid speech about Mew...
"Mistress is the best Pokemon in the entire universe!" she exclaimed, her eyes shining like stars… Annoying ones, too. "She wants to get rid of the nasty human world and change it into her giant Mew Palace where everyone gets to be fun all the time! It's like now, but even better! I know it's hard to imagine….." she grinned widely. "But Mistress created everything, but when she made the humans, she realized how horrible they were and tried to erase it, but to no avail. The humans took over the world in a way, capturing our own kind and forcing them to battle. Now Mistress is trying to fix everything and make it right, and she needs our help, believe it or not! Without us, the world is doomed!"
I blinked. I've never heard this before…. and it's completely and utterly… insane.
Riz blinked too, tilting her head. "...Uh… that wasn't an explanation… and what are humans? I don't think they're bad…. They made us toys, after all!"
I can't believe she still thinks she's a toy! Then again, it's probably our fault for saying she is one...
Jayden looked downright horrified as she stared at Riz.
"W-what?!" she said, horrified. "How could you even think that humans are good?! They took over and started capturing our own kind! Doesn't...don't you even care?!"
I grumbled, rolling my eyes. "Jayden, she thinks she's a TOY. She thinks humans created TOYS, which means they created HER. You see?" I spoke slowly, as if talking to a toddler.
"I'm not stupid," Jayden snapped. "I already knew that."
Riz looked at Jayden, she looked like she wanted to say something… "You sure act stupid…"
"WHAT?! Jayden glared at Riz. "EXCUSE ME?!"
"Well you're angry at humans, though I don't think this Mistress of yours created them, just the Pokemon. And besides, I believe the humans must have a good reason and I don't think the Pokemon really mind it too much either. They could've revolted if they all truly hated it." Riz shrugged.
Jayden's glare hardened. "How can you even say that when you don't have any memories of humans?" she snapped. "You barely know what eating is, let alone what a human is."
Riz shrugged, "I think I remember them now- two legged creatures with skin and hair and clothes, right? I don't think they're bad… they're like you, Pokemon, only… without special powers, so they make up for it with technology."
I blinked before slowly nodding… Maybe she's remembering that first? "Yeah, that's them alright…"
Then I saw Nami coming towards us, the Dewott smiled as she waved. "Hey guys! What's up?"
"Nami! Do you know how to raise a newborn?" I quickly asked her.
Nami blinked, "What?"
"Riz here lost all her memories, so she doesn't know anything! Could you help us out?" I said, pushing Riz in front of her.
Nami slowly shook her head. "...Uh, no… I don't- and besides, that's just weird! How did she even lose all her memories?"
"Mew." I said that one word, and her eyes lit up with understanding as she nodded.
Riz suddenly looked nervous for some reason, "..."
"What's wrong?" Nami asked, noticing that she looked nervous.
"Um…"
Oh right, I forgot… Riz is very shy, so she must not like being shoved to this 'new person's' face like that.
"I'm uh… an eating toy…?" Riz said as if unsure herself.
"... A toy?" Nami blinked.
Riz looked down at herself… as if seeing her body for the first time. "... I'm… uh… some high-tech… moving toy with realistic fur?" then she shook her head. "No… that doesn't seem right…"
I perked up… is she starting to understand more? That she's not a toy?
"I can't believe you still think you're a toy." Jayden said dryly, sitting down and staring Riz right in the eyes. "You. Are. Not. A. Toy."
I hissed, "Jayden! Quiet! She's trying to figure that out herself!"
Riz put her paw over her fur and then moved it to her chest and looked… surprised? I think she looked surprised… but it's kinda hard to tell. "Um…"
"What?" I asked her.
"That thump I felt… I'm not… a toy, am I? Then… what am I?" she asked, suddenly looking like a lost child.
Riz's POV
Was everything I thought was a lie? A...am I NOT a toy? ...I don't understand… But this… body felt way too… 'perfect' to be a toy's… and the fur felt way too real… almost natural instead of just being glued on. I think… I don't think I was ever a toy… I was… a human girl, wasn't I? I think… Kura said something to me.
"Huh? What'd you say?" I asked her, feeling confused.
"I said… you're like us- a living being." Kura sighed… I think that's sighing… shaking her… head.
"We've already said it so many times, Kura." Jayden grumbled. "Why bother telling her again when she won't even take what we said into her brain? If she even has one anymore..."
Kura looked at her, annoyed. "What is with you, Jayden!? Lately you've been doing nothing but insulting everyone you meet, unless it's Mew- then it's suddenly, 'Oh no, you're my whole world, Mistress!' Mistress this, Mistress that- she's special, but you're forgetting all about your friends!"
I frowned… my ears pulled back… are they fighting? I don't like it when friends fight… Jayden's silver fur bristled as she glared at Kura.
"Friends?" she said coldly. "What are friends compared to Mistress? She is the world to me, Kura, why should I pay more attention to you when I could be spending time with Mistress?"
I don't know what to do… they shouldn't be fighting… Weren't Kura and Jayden humans too? Weren't we all supposed to be friends and get along?
Kura growled, glaring at her. "SHE ISN'T EVEN HERE! But fine, if you're so insistent on just being her little puppet to control, even when she's nowhere NEAR here, then be my guest- but if you won't help and instead are just going to patronize us, then just GO. AWAY!"
Jayden blinked, before she snarled. "Fine, I see where I'm not wanted." she growled. "If you don't need me around, then I'll just go."
Nami… I think that's what her name was… frowned. Then some yellow creature with a lightning tail… I think that's a Pikachu… came over and a… grass snake? Is that a Servine!? WAH!
"STAY AWAY FROM ME!" I screamed, remembering how a Serperior almost ate me one time!
The two jumped away in shock at the same time I screamed.
Jayden glared at me. "Shut up!" she snapped. "It's only Kytio and Oroku! Why can't you just be-" She was interrupted when Kura's tails… hit her face… Was that… slapping? Either way… it looked painful… and I'm backing away from that Servine...
"Shut. UP." Kura growled. "Even when you're in a bad mood normally, you'd NEVER insult Riz!"
Jayden stumbled back, her eyes blinking in a slight daze, before she shook her head. "What the heck was that for?!" she demanded angrily. "I didn't even do anything wrong!"
"I thought it was obvious! I just told you WHY! You insulted Riz when it wasn't her fault!" Kura snapped back. I can't take this anymore...
"STOP IT!" I screamed and didn't realize I had just used Screech, causing everyone around me to scream in agony and cover their ears/heads. "STOP IT ALL OF YOU! STOP FIGHTING!" I kept screeching.
Kura rolled on the ground in pain. "R-Riz, stop using Screech! It hurts!"
"SHUT UP!" Jayden shouted in pain. "SHUT UP, RIZ! JUST SHUT UP!"
I finally did stop… but I quickly covered my mouth in horror… I didn't know I could do that… I just wanted them to stop yelling at each other…W-what kind of monster am I? I slowly backed away, as Kura shakily lifted her head.
"R-Riz…? W...where are you…" I shook my head, trying to move. This is bad… I need to get out of here… I don't know who or what I am anymore and I just hurt everyone! And I'm sure that Servine is gonna eat me because I made it angry.
Finally, I learned how to move my… legs? ...Yeah, legs. I finally moved my legs, and began to run, tripping once in awhile.
"Where's she going now?" Jayden's annoyed voice echoed around, and that was the last thing I heard before I entered the giant pink castle at top speed, trying to get away. I feel so… ashamed? Yes, ashamed… and Jayden's going to beat me up, she was already on the verge of doing it already! And I don't blame her… I'm horrible…
Where am I supposed to go? This place is huge!
"RIZ! GET BACK HERE!" I yipped when I heard Jayden's loud voice, and she sounded angry! Not good! I have to hide… HIDE! I didn't know it yet but I just used Illusion to turn into a purple rug, and before I could make any noise, Kura ran over me. I yelped, but didn't feel any pain.
"Way to go, Jayden! You just scared poor Riz off! Can't you tell that most 'newborns' are terrified of negative reactions like anger!?" Kura snapped at her. Are they going to fight AGAIN!?
"She's not necessarily a newborn, Kura." Jayden snapped. "Just because she lost a few memories, doesn't mean she's a newborn!"
Kura now looked ready to explode. "A few- SHE LOST ALL HER MEMORIES, YOU TWIT! MEW SAID SO HERSELF, AND THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING! SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS AN OBJECT!"
"WHAT THE HECK IS PUDDING?! AND JUST BECAUSE SHE THINKS SHE'S AN OBJECT DOESN'T MEAN SHE'S A NEWBORN!"
"SHE BARELY REMEMBERED ANYTHING, SHE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO SPEAK AT FIRST! YOU JUST DON'T WANNA ADMIT SHE HAS MEW'S ATTENTION THE MOST!"
I cringed… no more… please no more yelling… I feel a dark power… swelling somewhere inside me… it hurts… it's trying to get out…
Both of them suddenly stopped and froze… almost as if they could hear me… or felt what I was feeling. It's still rising… why won't it stop!? I...I need to let it out… but what if I hurt them…?
"...do you….." Jayden sounded hesitant as her voice softened slightly, no longer screaming at Kura. "Do you feel that?"
Kura nodded slowly. "Y-yeah… w...what is it?"
"...I-it's gotta be Mistress mad at us- nothing else is that strong…"
Kura groaned. "S-shut UP, Jayden…"
No… don't start fighting again. Ugh… it's rising even more… I can't… stop it… I suddenly let out a loud roar! And a powerful dark pulse came out of my body like a bomb! Pushing both Kura and Jayden right into the wall! I cringed and cried… my body still hurts… it's pulsing… I can't…
"What is going on here!?" I jumped when I heard a high pitched voice. A pink floating… cat thing appeared above me… wasn't it called Mew before? What is such a rare Pokemon doing here?
"M-Mistress!" Jayden exclaimed, getting back on four legs as she shook her fur. "Mistress, something's wrong with Riz!" she sounded worried….but why? I thought she didn't care about friends… "You've gotta help her!"
"What happened?" Mew demanded. "No, wait, let me read your minds…" After a few seconds gone by… "I see…" she suddenly turned to me and I gulped nervously… what did she want with me? "... Seems your dark fox's blood has been boiling again, huh?"
"I… I just… don't want them yelling and fighting anymore." I said softly.
"And I'll take care of them… For now… you just rest, alright?" Mew said gently to me, almost like a mother would after her child's been crying.
"... But… I don't want to… sleep." I hesitated, not sure if that was the right word for it.
"Rest now, my little Zorua." Mew said, smiling softly. "Tomorrow your training intensives."
"What?" I didn't know that much about… training, but I think it's the same as physical learning. "But why?"
"Because I need you big and strong for when I fix this cursed world. And you need to be ready to handle… the Soul Merger"
I didn't like the sound of that… "Soul… Merger…?"
"Oh it's when your soul merges with mine, no big deal." She then patted my head, and I felt… tired.. I… dunno why… Ugh… I don't… wanna… sleep…
Auro's POV
Oh, this isn't good… I don't know what's going on, but it's like the lights went out! I can tell everything's here… but I can't even see myself!
Then suddenly I heard Night's sobbing… why is she sobbing? Something bad must've happened. I hope she still remembers me… or this'll be awkward…. "...Ni- uh, Riz? Are… you okay? What's wrong?"
She looked at me with those red yet teary eyes, "I-I'm gonna die… Mew is gonna kill me…" I was shocked… Mew may be cruel but she would never kill someone!
"W-what makes you say that?" I asked her gently.
Riz kept looking at me helplessly, "Mew… said something about fusing my soul with her's… and if she does what's going to happen to ME?"
Wait… WHAT!? My eyes widened. "Y-your soul… will be merged with hers!?" Does… that explain why Jayden's been reverting to her 'Mistress is perfect' mindset so often? But why did she do it to just Jayden? Why not the rest of them?
"I'm scared… I think she's done it with Jayden before… because she seem to… get very excited about it. But why? Why does Mew want to merge our souls with hers?"
"...M-maybe…. it adds onto Mew's power… it would also explain why she's been training all of you…" I muttered, thinking. But why would Mew want to get even stronger…? She's definitely strong enough by herself, but with a strong team with six strong Pokemon….
Riz suddenly looked thoughtful, "Well… come to think of it… if she's already done it with Jayden… Jayden is still alive and still here, but her mind is completely set on Mew and Mew alone. Perhaps it doesn't completely consumes our bodies, but it forces our mind and spirit to be her slaves or something… so she could transfer all her powers into us without the fear of us turning on her or something."
I blinked in surprise, slowly nodding. "...Makes sense…. and if that happens while I'm in here…" I gulped. "...We need to keep that from happening."
"I know… but I don't know how."
She appears to retain most of her memories… "Riz, what do you remember?"
"I remember all of my human life I guess… And a little bit after Mew turn me into a Zorua but not much… Why?"
I blinked, slowly smiling. "Well… that's better than you were doing when we met here before… You remember me, right? From before?"
She blinked at me. "Uhhh… Who are you again?"
My heart dropped, and I trembled slightly. "Y-you don't… r-remember me?" I felt very sad about this… but much sadder than I thought I would be, and I don't even know why…
Suddenly she laughed, grinning. "I'm kidding! How could I forget you, Auro? You're probably the first one I remembered since Mew washed my mind clean."
...S-she… does remember me? "...Don't… d-don't ever do that again, you terrified me…"
She frowned, "I did? Huh… I knew you'd be shocked but not terrified. Wait… are you CRYING?" She must've noticed some the tears that fell from my eyes. "Dude, why are you crying about this?"
I shook my head, quickly wiping the tears away. "I-I'm not crying… just… had something in my eye!"
"We're in a mindscape, there's no particle dust here! What's up with you?"
"N-nothing, Night! I'm just… tired!"
"Right, you're crying because you're tired… Whatever, we've got other problems to deal with right now. Such as; how the bloody heck are we going to stop Mew from doing that Soul Merger thing!?"
I quickly wiped the tears away again, thinking. "...M-maybe you can say you're not ready?"
"She can read my mind, Auro! She'll know when I'm ready whether I like it or not! Oh this is really bad… can't Mewtwo do something about this?" …..So she still doesn't remember Mewtwo-sama, otherwise she would've called him sensei…
"...W-well, we can distract her, I think… But it'd only be a temporary fix…"
"Doesn't he know any solution? I mean he's her clone, right? Shouldn't he know how to reverse it?" She was pacing now and storm clouds began filling up the sky… she's really stressed out about this.
"Uh, well… I'll have to ask, okay? I'll be right back!"
"W-wait! I needed to say-" I already left… guess I should've listened to her but I need to talk to Mewtwo-sama about this big problem…
I quickly sat up, looking around the forest. "Mewtwo-sama! Where are you?" He's not here… did… did something happen!?
"Auro." I jumped as Mewtwo-sama spoke from behind me. "What's wrong?"
I quickly turned, bowing. "M-Mewtwo-sama! Apparently, Mew has something called the Soul Merger, and she wants to merge Night's soul to her! I think she already did it to Jayden, too…"
If Mewtwo-sama was surprised, he didn't show it. He only sighed and looked up at the sky, shaking his head. "I knew this would happen….but I didn't expect it to be so soon." he muttered.
"M-Mewtwo-sama!? You… you knew all along?" I blinked.
"Yes." he said bluntly. "I knew it would happen, but I didn't know when."
"But why? Why does she want to do this to Jayden first?" That's what always bugged me… why Jayden so soon? Why didn't she wait like she's doing with the others?
"Jayden….she has the weakest mind out of Mew's team." Mewtwo-sama said. "Mew targets the weaker minded ones and slowly breaks them, entering their mind and changing it to her liking."
My eyes widened in shock. W-what!? "You mean… b-but why Riz!? She's strong-minded! Mew wouldn't go for her, then!"
Mewtwo-sama shook his head, "Don't you see? She already went after he, that little piece of Mew that keeps messing up the mindscape? That's part of the Soul Merger's way of weakening her mind… and when she cleansed her memories it made it much, much weaker. She's targeting Riz BECAUSE she has such a strong mind."
My eyes widened in shock. "W-what!? No…. No, there has to be something we can do! ANYTHING!"
Mewtwo-sama sighed, "The Soul Merger is a dangerous weapon. Mew normally wouldn't use it unless she was desperate... Because if she goes through with it she, too will gain effects from the victim's original personality."
"...S-so what did she get from Jayden?"
"Her stubborn and naive attitude. Haven't you noticed that Mew's been acting way more childish than normal?"
"...N-no… I didn't… So what will she get from Riz, then? Her… temper?"
Mewtwo-sama chuckled, "Mew's already got a pretty bad temper herself, hence the Mew Games. I think she'll pick up what she wants from her; her spirit and determination." Then he gave me a funny look… But I couldn't tell what that look meant. "You seem to show very deep concern for Night, you've even started calling her 'Riz' a lot more often now. I wonder… could it be that you have started getting feelings for the Zorua?"
W-what? "N-n-no, of course not, Mewtwo-sama!" I blushed a deep red.
"Then why are you blushing?" Mewtwo-sama smirked at me as I felt my face growing hotter.
"I-I… I'm just a bit tired!"
"Deny it all you want, little Riolu, but I can tell when a Pokemon loves another." He smirked again, crossing his arms.
"...B-but I'm not a Pokemon originally!"
"Same goes for humans. But I digress. The Soul Merger, like I said, is risky. You can't stop it, but you MAY be able to influence it so Night won't fall completely under Mew's spell like Jayden."
I blinked. "...H-how much will she be changed?"
"I don't know… that will depend on Night herself. I'm afraid I can't do much more than that, maybe if I still had my physical body I could help, but I can't… I'm sorry."
"...I-it's okay, Mewtwo-sama… but how do we do this?"
"It's not easy… You'll need her to be in the right mindset do this. It's all about mental powers, which is why I trained her hard on it, but even so she may not be ready, especially since Mew wiped her memory clean of our training."
"...M-maybe I can get her to remember that- I'll go find out!" I then pointed at him, a blush forming. "N-not a word, please… I'm not interested in her that way!"
Mewtwo-sama just kept smirking at me, "You go get her, tiger." I blushed madly at that, quickly laying down and going into Riz's mind.
I opened my eyes to find myself in her mindscape again, Riz was looking at me.
"You know… it kinda makes me wonder… Why are you even IN my mind in the first place?"
I blinked, still blushing softly. "...H-huh? What do you mean?"
"I mean… I don't remember much, but you said something about only having a link with me, right? But… I'm sure Jayden or Kura should have them now after spending a lot of time with me, so why are you just in MY head all the time?" she asked me.
"...I-I'm not ALWAYS here… but Mew's focusing her efforts on you, so…" I blushed again- why do I keep doing that!?
"And you sure do blush a lot. Is it hot here for you or…" then she smiled. "Do you have a crush on someone? That's cute, who is it?" I felt my face get hotter; seriously, first Mewtwo-sama and now Riz!?
"N-nobody, Riz! I don't have a crush on anyone! What is with you and Mewtwo-sama!?"
She blinked, "I didn't say anything about Mewtwo… Did he tease you about this someone too? Come on, at least tell me her name!"
"N-no, I don't like anyone!" I quickly shouted. "And we've got bigger problems to worry about than my lovelife! Mewtwo-sama said you have to influence Mew's Soul Merger!"
"... Influence?"
I nodded. "Y-yeah, we need to work together so you don't lose yourself in the Soul Merger. How much… that depends on you."
But she frowned... I hate it when she frowns, it doesn't look good on her. "But… I don't think I can. Mew is strong… maybe too strong for someone like me…"
"You need to believe in yourself- you've lasted out this long! We just need to get your mental strength back up…"
"I have mental strength? But I'm always so easily influenced…" she told me sadly. "I give in to peer pressure and I always give in to things on commercials people sell and I never even use them!"
"You do- you're also stubborn! But Mew's reduced your mental strength so you can be taken down… You're probably not as cutel- er, s-s-stubborn as normal!" W-why did I nearly say cutely!?
She looked at me for a second before sighing, "I guess… but I don't really remember much about my Zorua days… I wish I did though. It's kinda weird having a newborn's mind for a while, but it was also kinda… refreshing in a way." she smiled a bit, making her look even more cute… GAH! Stop THINKING such things! I hardly know her!
"I-I guess…"
She blinked, tilting her head. "Why are you blushing again? ...You did that when I was like a newborn, too…"
"N-no I didn't!" I blushed even more, turning away.
"Auro… it's okay, if you have a crush on someone don't feel ashamed to hide it; it's just a part of nature after all. I think it's lovely and cute that you like someone, even if I don't know her." she smiled at me.
I stuttered, gulping. "W-well, uh… I-I don't!" What would she say if I told her I like her…? W-which I DON'T… still…
"You are in denial~" she practically sang. "But fine, continue to be that way. It's your business after all, not mine."
"...W-what if it was?" She blinked and I blushed- why did I say that!? I mean she was leaving it alone and I just HAD to bring it back!
"... What do you mean?"
"N-nothing, nothing! F-f-forget I said anything…" I quickly turned away, refusing to look at her.
But that might've been the wrong thing to do because she suddenly felt sad, I noticed the dark clouds over the sky and some sprinkles… What have I done now?
"Oh… I get it… Fine, I won't bug you anymore."
"N-no, it's not that you're bugging me! I-it's just, I, uh… I don't want to say something that'll make you feel awkward around me…" I quickly said to her.
Riz shook her head, "Whatever… So I have to influence Mew whenever she does this Soul Merger thing… Maybe I could make sure I'm never ready for it so she won't do it."
I blinked. "...M-maybe, but I think she believes you're already ready if she's telling you… In fact, we'll need to get more of your memory back quick!"
"I'm so gonna die." she cried and suddenly it began pouring. Why is she suddenly so emotional?
"W-wha? Why are you gonna die? I don't understand!"
"Mew is gonna absorb me, turn me into a mindless slave like Jayden, I'll be as good as dead! I can't resist her! And I'm just a stupid little loser who keeps bugging the one who always have to help me because I can't help myself!" she almost wailed. Are her emotions all clumped up or something?
"L-look, uh…" I glanced at her lips. M-maybe a kiss would help stun her enough for her to calm down…? ...N-no, stop it, she wouldn't want that. "Please don't cry… I don't like it when you cry… What's wrong?"
She bit her lip to try and stop crying, still sniffing. "I-I don't know… I-I just feel so horrible! I don't even know why myself!"
...That kissing idea sounds better and better… I- WHAT AM I SAYING? Ugh! "...D-do you want… a hug?
"H-hug?" she blinked. "... I hadn't had a hug since I left home…" she looked at me. "But...why do you suddenly want to hug me? Wouldn't this be an insult to your crush?"
I blushed madly, looking just above her head. "O-of course not… B-but you seem like you need it…"
Without warning she suddenly cuddled up to me! I blushed even harder but I was enjoying it, a lot. She purred like a Meowth, which made her even cuter.
"Thanks… Even with my best friends Kura and Jayden… it just feels like you're the only one who really cares lately." The rain slowed to a stop, but I hardly noticed.
"H-huh? What… do you mean?" I blushed, looking at her eyes.
"Jayden's always on and on about Mew, Mistress is everything, Mistress is the greatest, Mistress is greater than life. It's driving me up the wall! And Kura… she may be a lot nicer than Jayden is lately, but she's… not really as caring. You're the only one who really helped me when I needed it the most, even now. Thank you." She began closing her eyes, her body felt warm against me… and comfortable. I think my eyes were closing too. I smiled softly before I realized I was drifting closer to her… am I gonna…
