Author's Note: Doctor Who, Season 7, Episode 5. "Angels Take Manhattan". An amazing episode. A scary episode. A heartbreaking episode. An episode that needed a coda. This is my coda...again again.

Together or Not At All

Rory was in shock. One minute he was in a graveyard in 2012 during the day, and the next he was is central park on a rainy night. He cast his eyes to the skyline quickly and realized with horror that he had been transported back in time once again. "No!" he cried out in frustration, kicking his leg against the ground. "Not again! Not—"

Suddenly there was a flash of light, and he heard the sob of a woman. Rory turned and saw Amy, his Amy standing in the middle of the central park path. "Amy?" he asked in surprise and horror. Amy turned and her look of despair turned to one of joy. She let out an incoherent sob before racing towards him.

Amy launched herself into his arms. "Rory!" she cried. "My Rory."

"Amy," he breathed as he buried his face in her hair. "You're here."

"I found you," she murmured as she held onto him tight. "I found you."

"Amy what are you doing here?" Rory asked as he pulled away from her so that he could look at her. "The Angel—"

"I couldn't lose you yeah?" she said in a wavering voice. "I had to try."

"But River… the Doctor?"

Amy shook her head. "They couldn't come. They couldn't break the paradox."

"Haven't we just broken the paradox?"

Amy shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know."

Rory just stared at Amy before gathering her into his arms again. "Amy—"

"I'm here," she whispered. "I'm here."

"Why did you do it Amy?" he asked her. "Why did you leave it all?"

"It's together or not at all remember?" Amy asked as she pulled back so that she could put her hands on either side of his face as the rain finally began to stop. "I love you too much to lose you. Not now. Not ever. The Doctor—"

"He understands," came another familiar voice.

Rory and Amy turned to see River Song, their Melody Pond standing there with an umbrella. She gave her parents a smile and held up her wrist. "Vortex manipulator. I used it to sneak through the paradox."

"And the Doctor?" Rory asked hopefully.

River shook her head. "I couldn't tell him," she told him honestly. "It would have broken his hearts to have to say goodbye again. I just came to make sure that you're both together… you found each other then?"

Amy looked to her husband and kissed him once swiftly. "Yeah," she said when she pulled away. "We did."

"Together or not at all," Rory stated as he wrapped his arms tightly around Amy. "The way it's supposed to be."

River gave her parents a smile. "I'm glad that you guys found each other and I want you to take this…" she had dug into her pockets and pulled out a manila envelope. "It has enough cash to get you started. I'm afraid that I can't do more."

Amy shook her head as she walked over to give her daughter a hug. "Thank you. Let me give you something in return."

"Oh no Mum," River protested as she took a step back.

"No." Amy insisted as she took her watch off her wrist. "You need to take this."

River looked to the watch and held it carefully in her hands. "I'll treasure it."

Rory walked over and hugged his daughter as well. "I'm going to miss you."

"I'll miss you too Dad," River said. "But I'll be back, once I'm done the book."

"Book?" asked Amy.

River nodded. "I'll tell you all about it next time that I see you. Take care of yourselves."

"We will," Rory assured. "Promise."

"Yes," Amy agreed. "We promise. Together."

"Yes," Rory said. "Together."
