Dead Kiss the Gun 5
Darkis: Heeeey readers, how's it goin'~? Are you still enjoying this story? It's kinda hard for me to know if you don't tell me. Sure the number of views and visitors tells me you're reading and possibly enjoying, but I want to know your thoughts on this. Am I doing a good job, a bad job, tell me so I know. Also, should I do a list of the guns that Ricon and Siyami carry? A little warning of language in this chapter.

Chapter 5: Dead on the Move
We had been driving for a while now, luckily with no sign of 'Them'. However, I never noticed until now that the tank meter on my bike read 'almost out of fuel'. No it didn't say that literally, but the pointer was just about on the E. I'm guessing their bike reads the same as mine. If not, well they get to refill the tank. Apparently 'luck' (What ever happened to karma?) is on our side, (I don't believe in luck, its such a feeble and unreliable thing) a gas station that was still in service and free of 'Them'. The three of us pulled into the station and dismounted the bikes. I examined the pumps and face palmed. So much for that so called 'luck'.
"Hey, what's wrong Desperado?" Hisashi asked quietly.
"This station is self service."
"What makes you think there's gas still in there, and why are you calling him Desperado? Do you really believe that crap? How do you know Ricon's not just acting like the asshole he is?" Miyamoto said testily.
"They say each gas station holds enough gas to fill up a thousand cars." Her boyfriend answered. "Rei please don't give him more reason to not like you. I'd like for all three of us to get back to the others."
"Here's your fair warning now. Call me 'Ricon' if you dare, but I can't promise I won't shoot you for making that mistake. I'll let you know when you can refer to me as 'Ricon' again." I followed up and challenged. My trigger finger is itching and I can see she wants to take that risk.
One look at her boyfriend and she stayed silent. Smart girl, but perhaps I should use that term lightly. You just saved your girlfriend from pain Igo. Good job. Moving on to the issue at hand, since I have no money and I damn sure know those two don't have any, well, let's just go take it. I don't know about them, but I have no qualms about stealing. I've done it all my life after all. I can feel a smile spreading across my face as I walked past them.
"Hisashi come." I said mentioning him over with my hand as I started walking to the station store. Passing the girl, she opened her mouth to protest, but Hisashi stopped her before she did.
"Rei wait here, we won't be long."
The boy's footsteps are loud enough to wake the dead...Worst pun ever. Well at least I know he's following me. I paused at the entrance to the small store, revolver at the ready. Peering inside, I saw nothing out of the ordinary, walking inside, nothing as well. I mentioned for Hisashi to come inside. He followed the silent request and walked straight to the register. I should have told him that the power was out, before he repeatedly pressed the button to open the register, but where would be the fun in that? I'm an asshole and I know that very well. It's one of the few things that set me apart from 'Ricon'. Back to the issue at hand with opening the register, I opted to just shoot the damn thing with a well placed bullet, but he decided he wanted to try his hand with the S&W model 37 pistol he just acquired. His aim was, no is, laughably pathetic making it quite obvious that he's never held a gun before in his life, let alone shot one. It took him four shots to pop it open so we raided the register.
"This should be enough." He said smiling. "I always wanted to do this when I was younger."
"Good for you. You just accomplished one of your childhood goals."
Hisashi was about to respond when the girl screamed.
"Oh no Rei!"
He sprinted out the door, almost hitting his face on the door frame in his haste. I walked over to the door, staying completely hidden in the shadows of the building. I stood in a position where I could see them and watch the scene play out. Fortunately, I can hear them as well.
"Rei what's wrong?!"
She was held hostage as far as I could see. He's holding a pocket knife to her throat. The guy seems to have lost his mind already. Of course only the strong survive, in mind, body and skill that is. The loon starts laughing like the maniac he is.
"Hey, you've got a fucking hot piece of ass here you know that." He said with a crazed look in his eyes.
"You let her go!" A laugh was the response.
"Why would I do that? You'd think I'd go for one of those stanky ass zombie bitches? Think again mother fucker!" He laughed some more.
"Jesus man are you crazy? That it?"
"Crazy? Hell yeah I am! My family became 'Them' right in front of my own eyes. I had ta...I had ta smash everyone's head. My father! My mother! My grandma and brother! Even my little sister too! How can I be normal? You think I wouldn't be fucked up after that!" He laughed even more.
While his grip was loose, the girl pushed away from him and ran for Hisashi, screaming his name as she ran. Only to get caught by her breast. I must admit that looked painful from where I'm standing, not that I particularly care for her. Takashi may not forgive 'Ricon' if I leave her here to die no matter how much I want to.
"Rei!"
He laughed crazily and massaged her chest, describing how she felt and other things of that perverted nature. She called out for Hisashi and he took a step forward.
"Hey drop the gun and kick it away. If you don't I'll kill this slut. And the bike, gimme the fuckin' bike man!"
"There's no gas in it." The nutjob isn't stupid Hisashi...well on second thought, if he doesn't see my bike over there then I guess he is stupid.
"I heard you in the store! Put the cash you got in the slot and pump the mother fuckin' gas!"
Hisashi dropped the gun and kicked it away. Alright, I've seen enough. Time to end this little charade and move on. The echo from the gun hitting the ground is bound to attract unwanted company and I want to be out of here before they come. Slipping out of the store, I creep silently among the pumps. None of the others notice anything amiss, Hisashi is pumping gas, Rei's eyes are downcast, and the lunatic is staring at Hisashi. Perfect.
"Hey, will you let us go now? You can have the bike. We need to see if our families are alright."
"Shut the fuck up! I don't give a shit about your parents! They're gonna end up just like my family did you fuckin' retard."
All this drama is giving me a headache. Walking along the left side, out of sight to all except Hisashi, who looked right at me, then back to the creep.
"Its done."
"Away from the bike and start walkin'!"
He did as he was told then changed course. "Come on man"
"Don't take one more fuckin' step!"
He paused as I stepped from behind the pump that the loon was standing in front of, gun aimed at his head. Hisashi stayed quiet about my presence and I pressed the tip of my Colt Python to the back of his head. His body stiffened and he slowly raised his hands above his head. The girl moved away from him and retrieved the gun that Igo was holding.
"Hisashi, Rei get on the bike and get out of here. I'll take care of this creep." I commanded. There go my leadership skills. I'm starting to sound like 'Ricon' again. I keep the gun trained on the would-be thief and pay for the gas to my bike. By now I can hear the undead getting closer to the station as I pump the gas. "Okay you creep, turn around slowly and face me." I saw him shiver in fear as he turned around.
With him now facing me and the tank on the bike full, it's time to make my escape. Wait...why the fuck are they still here! This stupid girl is trying to kill us!
"Rei! Give that pistol to Hisashi now! I swear if you shoot him-" I yank out the second Colt Python. "-I WILL shoot you myself and leave you here with him!"
The boy realized what was happening and snatched the gun from the girl. Fuck! I already want to shoot her and she's giving me more reason to do so!
"H-hey, so I'm free to go then?" Do I look stupid to you, you fuckin' lunatic?
"You? Free to go?" I ask rhetorically. "Oh no, you get to be my bait." With that I shot him in both of his legs, watching him fall to the ground. "And you!" I hopped on my bike and turned on Rei. "Get your ass on that bike now! Hisashi!" He looked startled and a bit scared. "Get on the bike, we're leaving!"
The loon was screaming about bleeding. Good, bleed to death for all I care. Finally following orders, those two got on the bike and rode off. I took one last look at 'Them' closing in on the station and drove off as well, ignoring the dead man's screaming about not leaving him. I easily caught up to my unfortunate companions, driving side by side with them. I could feel Rei's glare burning a hole in the side of my head. I'm tempted to glare back at her, even more so to spill her blood, but I refrain from doing so. It's been a long night and I really don't feel like dealing with this shit right now.
The sun rose hours ago, bathing the world in light. No one has said a word since we left the station. Rei is keeping her face turned away from my (good, I didn't even have to ask), Hisashi is keeping his eyes on the road. Riding on this highway with the wind rushing through my hair feels great. I reach into the shoulder bag that 'Ricon' had packed and pulled out a pack of cigarettes and lighter. I took out a stick and put the pack back in the bag. Keeping the bike steady, I lit the stick and took a long drag.
"Hey look!" So much for the silence. The girl was waving at something. Sounds like a jet.
The both of us looked to see a jet flying by. Well isn't that a treat. I swear it just took a picture of us as it kept going. Hm...it doesn't really matter anyway, its not going to circle back. Looking back to the seemingly endless road, I wonder when we're going to meet up with the others so I can finally stop watching these two.
-With the Others, Siyami's P.O.V.
I sigh quietly staring out the window. I finished cleaning my guns a long time ago, now I'm bored out of my mind. Snake Face is doing another one of his leadership rants, this time going on about teamwork and acting as a group. I swear I've never met a guy who liked the sound of his own voice this much. The man just doesn't stop talking! I would really like to shoot him right now, but he's not worth my ammo. From where I'm sitting I can see Hirano snoring away beside Takagi, Saeko resting her eyes, and Takagi roused from her thoughts to elbow him awake. Takashi is sitting in front of me and it looks like he's asleep.
"Huh..? Mornin'. Is it time to get up already?"
"Yes its morning." She deadpanned. "Ugh, and you're drooling." She waved a hand in disgust.
"Ugh." He wiped his mouth on the back oh his hand and looked out the window. "Sorry. Look at that."
The unmoving traffic and the hundreds of people walking along the highway, I'd say we're better off walking than hanging around on this bus with that infuriating teacher. I'm willing to bet someone else would agree with me.
"I think it's better to evacuate to the suburbs." Hirano stated. My thoughts exactly Kohta.
"Cars are not the only way to get out of here."
"The airport on the ocean, you're right."
"Its far too dangerous to be anywhere in the city. I bet a bunch of people are trying to escape to some island or some isolated area with some kind of strong military presence or something."
"Like Okinawa? But the American military that's stationed there isn't there to fight...oh, but their Self Defense Forces."
"If the military has taken appropriate measures, then I'm betting Hokkaido or Kyushu should be okay too. If planes are leaving, then all the flights are heading to those areas."
"So you think that maybe we should head that way too?" Hirano enthused about another way out.
"It's too late."
"Maybe its not Takagi. Maybe we should head that way." Takashi said jumping into the conversation.
"What part of "too late" don't you understand?"
"I'm just saying it might be a possibility. You don't have to bit my head off about it. How do you know for sure that its too late is what I'm asking." He got up to stand by her.
"The areas with heavy presence of Self Defense Forces and American military may be managing to keep 'Them' under control, but I'm sure they've already to adopt a stern policy toward letting anybody else in. No, sooner or later its going to be that way everywhere in the world. I mean what would you do in that same situation?" The pinkette questioned.
"I'm sure like everyone else's answer, we'd all seclude ourselves." I say, assuming that's what everyone else's answer will be. If not, something close to it.
"Yeah, well what would happen if everyone in this world starts thinking that way? What if they start focusing on keeping their community as small as possible in order to survive?"
"You really ask some relevant questions you know that?" The second year said admiringly.
Of course she knows Hirano, the girl's got a big brain. Though, I wouldn't say she's a genius just yet, but she's pretty close to it.
"What are you talking about?" She brushed aside his comment. "Look at him." She said thumbing towards Shidou. "You can already see that in him, although I doubt that he knows this himself. You know, this all did happened over night."
My nail gun toting classmate raised his weapon from its lax position. He wasn't the only one ready to shoot Snake Face. I would love to as well, but he's just not worth it.
"Should I interrupt them?"
"Forget the pervy teacher and slutty little Sally over there. I should consult with someone I could trust."
Saeko, Shizuka and I all moved over to their seats. I'm sure she can find one of us to confide in. Though, I wouldn't want to do that in the presence of Shidou. The group seems to all be here, well minus three that is. I hope 'Ricon' is okay.
"I'm getting worried about the others. I hope they can hold on until we meet up." Saeko said looking out the window.
-Back to Desperado, Hisashi and Rei, Desperado's P.O.V.-
We entered the housing district a while ago. Strangely enough, there weren't that many of 'Them' around that we saw. However there were some around. We paused in front of an overpass then an explosion went off a ways in front of us. Live ones were running and screaming for their lives. Some of 'Them' were among the living, getting shot down by a shirtless maniac with a shotgun.
"Hahahahaha! That's right you run! Run like hell!" He laughed some more and let loose another shotgun blast.
"T-this is absolutely nuts. Its...its like a war." The girl said looking on at the destruction.
"That's right, and we're front row center for it." I said without a care in the world. This is nothing new to me. I've lived this, just without zombies.
"Geez Desperado. Can you at least act like you care about what's happening around us?" Hisashi questioned.
"Hey, someone's got to keep it together and not freak out." I take out and light another cigarette. "Now stay close. I don't need one of you getting shot off the bike." As much as I'd love for Rei to get shot right now, I really don't need Hisashi going hysterical about it.
We both rev up the bikes and speed off down the street. The smoke from the fire blocks my vision a bit, but that's alright. I see that guy with the shotgun alerting his buddies on the right and a couple of 'Them' on the left. Perfect. I always did like moving targets the best, so now its time for a bit of target practice. The other guy with the shotgun is going to miss me, but with those two tailing me, they're going to get hit. Taking out both of my Colt Peacemakers, I take aim and shoot, keeping the bike steady. First, the guy with the shotgun takes a bullet to the leg, then two of 'Them on left take bullets to the head. One of 'Them' in front of us bites the bullet and flies into the flaming car.
"We're not dead. Why are these maniacs shooting at us?!" The girl shouted.
"The whole world's gone crazy Rei." Igo said back. "We can't trust anyone."
"We can't trust anyone..." She echoed.
We kept going for about a mile, getting steadily closer to the bridge. I turned off away from the bridge and looked back after stopping. There's no way in hell we're getting through that traffic.
"Desperado what's wrong?"
"The bridge is back that way, why are we not going to it?" Hit her before I shoot!
"Use your brain girl! Does it look like we can make it through that traffic?" I glare back at her. She's trying my patience again. "We need to find a way around it." I growl out.
"We should go to Embetsu bridge then. We can meet up with the others there." Hisashi offered.
"Alright then, lead the way."
With that we rode off to our detour. Can this take any longer to find the others? I certainly hope not because my trigger fingers itching to shoot a certain girl, and I'm staring at the back of her head right now. Oh the temptation.
-Back on the bus, Siyami's P.O.V.-
Here we go a-fucking-gain! I swear he talks just to hear himself! God, I need to calm down. Someone needs to take this guy down a peg or five. I need to get off this bus or I'm going to go insane! Maybe I should text 'Ricon' to see if he's alright. That should help me keep my mind off of Shidou for a while. Taking out my phone I sent him a quick message.
Hey, how are you holding up?
"-And realize this my friends Ricon, Hisashi and Miyamoto were unfit to be in out family."
I almost shot Snake Face for that comment. How dare he say, well...on second thought, I think 'Ricon' would agree with him on that. Not that he even wants to be in relation to this guy anyway. Oh, he messaged me back.
Have to take a detour to Embetsu bridge. I have a need to shoot a certain girl that is traveling with me. - D
Oh no, Rei pissed him off...I hope he didn't shoot her. I know he must have a reason to do that. For some odd reason its very easy to piss him off. I message him back quickly.
Des, what happened? What did Rei do to piss off Ri-kun and get you involved? You didnt kill her did you?
I'm really worried now. When Des gets involved in something, things dies. Always.
"This guy's a god damn maniac." Takagi stated as she watched him.
"You got that right." The kendo mistress agreed wholeheartedly. "Sounds like he a recruiter from some kind of cult religious group.
"It doesn't just sound like it, it is. And look at the slobbering idiots hindging on his every word, like a bunch of scientologist, or rather Shidou-tologist. I need to get outta here."
"Given the condition on the road, looks like we're going to have to give up our ride. We have to somehow get across Embetsu bridge and get to the East police station. We're still suppose to meet up with Ricon and the others."
-_- That nickname again. No I haven't shot her...yet. She pisses me off. As for what she did, you'll need to talk with Komuro about that. Just know it's a sensitive topic for him so tread lightly.
Hm...he must be talking about the break up. It was pretty bad from my understanding of it. I look at Takashi and see him thinking. The poor guy. I can deal with that later, right now I need to focus.
Alright. Hey dont hate on the nickname. Its that or D-chan. Which do you prefer?
I giggle to myself as I send the message. I have to calm him down if Rei is grating in his nerves that much. Des is probably glaring at his phone right now as he reads my text. I have a feeling he's going to yell at me when we meet up.
"Just what are you giggling about?" Takagi snaps at me. "Who are you talking to?"
"I'm talking to my brother. They had to take a detour and are heading to Embetsu bridge now."
"And you find that funny how?"
"He's upset (understatement of the day) and I'm trying to calm him down."
...fine, you've made your point, just prepare for a verbal lashing if 'Ricon' isn't back by then. Anyway, I'll send you a letter so you know who's in the lead about every thirty minutes.
I smile at the phone. He makes it so easy to tease him. I was right about him yelling at me too, so predictable.
"So where is everyone's house?" Ms. Marikawa asked with a smile.
"The other side of the bridge." Takagi said. "The same area with Komuro's."
"Oh, my parents are not in the neighborhood, but I...I'd go anywhere as long as I'm with Takagi." He blushed a little as he said that, shifting a bit in his seat.
"E-ewww..." She moved away just a bit.
"So tell me Hirano, where's your family? Are they close?" Saeko said smiling in amusement.
Hirano stared talking about where his family was and what they did and such. It was quite funny because it sounds so exaggerated. We all shared a laugh, even Takashi, who's been really quiet during the entire exchange. Speaking of him, I'll have to ask about it later. Not even I would want to talk about my personal life with the obnoxious, borderline insane teacher. I'm not even sure how he can stand himself. Oh wait, he's a narcissistic, prideful bastard that's how! God damn asshole! Great, now I can't stop thinking about him...then I felt someone touch my shoulder.
"Hey, you alright?" It was just Takashi.
"Yeah, its just the bastard in the back giving me a headache."
"Oh, I see."
"So, what are we going to do?" Ms. Shizuka asked happily, getting out of her seat an facing us. "I want to come along with all of you."
"Are you sure?" Takagi retorted.
"Both of my parents passed away years ago and my relatives live far away. I know I shouldn't be saying this, but I ...I think Mr. Shidou is kindof a douchebag."
That has to be the funniest and meanest thing I've heard her say about anyone. We all got a good laugh out her pretty accurate description of him.
"So what do we do?" Saeko inquired. "I'm not very familiar with this area."
"We really need to check on Onbetsu bridge first." My pink haired classmate said seriously.
"Umm, what's the matter everyone?" Shidou asked as if we'd tell him our plans. "We need to work together otherwise none of us are ever-"
"Thanks for the offer but I'm gonna pass Mr. Shidou." I cut him off. "We've got our own plans, and FYI this no field trip. I have no obligation to be with you. I never had any classes with you anyway." The smug bastard's face took on a dark look.
"I see." He paused and put his fingertips together, looking very much like the creep he is. "If that is what you've decided, then go right ahead. I won't stop you Siyami, how could I? This is a free country not some iron fisted dictatorship." He chuckles creepily. He has no idea of the effect he has on people. "However,-" He licked his lips in a seductive manner. Geez, how much creepier can he get? "I'm afraid you will have to remain Ms. Marikawa. Losing the doctor is a major blow to our current situation." He fixed his glasses and softened the sneer that's usually glued to his face, trying to appear less creepy. It didn't work, not by a long shot. "Would you please stay? What do you say?" Now he's walking towards us...nice. "There are students who are relying on you." Still moving forward, my hand on my gun.
The sound of a shot fired from a nail gun reaches my ears. Mr. Smug is standing there, staring wide-eyed at Kohta, who shot him and grazed his cheek. The boy behind the chair that the nail embedded itself in gasped loudly. The teacher held his cheek, a look of mock hurt plastered on his face.
"Alright, nice shot man." Takashi commented on his friends aim, which I must say is impressive.
"You...you shot at me." Damn right he did!
"I missed you on purpose, you douchebag."
"But you...you're not a violent student like that." He tried to reason.
"How many of my fellow students do you thing I killed in school yesterday?" He took aim. "And I can kill you too. For all the ways always made fun of me!" He yelled. "I was holding back. I was holding back for a long time! I was holding it back because I just wanted to have a normal life, but there's no need to do that anymore! Nothing we know is normal anymore. That's why I'm able to kill now. I can even kill living people too, maybe start by the ones who made fun of me!" This kid is lookin' up now.
"I made fun?" He started to back away. "You misunderstood I held you in such high esteem." He looked scared for his life. Good, he'd better be happy Ricon, well Desperado isn't here right now.
"If you wanna go, now's the time to do it. I'll make sure he doesn't stop you." He said to us.
"You're such a man, I'm impressed." Saeko complimented, then flung open the bus door.
With no more prompting we all hopped off the bus, leaving an angry snake behind. Hopefully that's the last we see of him. Running up the stairs to an overhead walkway, we started on our way to find another route to the East Police Station. The walk was going fine. Idle chatter along the way, a few jokes were cracked as well. We were enjoying each other company and all too soon we ran into trouble.
