4A/N: Hey all you Bleach fans. First bleach fanfiction. Just a really small one shot I wrote randomly.
An Icy Birthday
Toshiro Hitsugaya sat behind his desk which was piled high with paper work he had to sign. As always Rangiku had somehow managed to slip away to go out drinking with her friends. He smiled at the thought of her face when he catches her. She was going to get it badly.
He sighed looking at the pile which hadn't gotten any shorter than when he started. "I guess it's not going to do it itself." He grumbled. He got out his pen and started with the top one.
A few hours later
Toshiro felt something nudging him. He groaned and opened his eyes, it seems like he fell asleep on the desk while signing many, many papers. Rangiku's smiling face came into view.
"What do you want Rangiku? Do you remember what you were supposed to do today, yesterday, and the day before that?" He grumbled. He was too tired to shout at her.
"Oh captain, there's no need to be so grumpy, after all it is a special day." She giggled.
"Oh…and what day is it?" he asked already getting bored with the conversation. Sometimes Rangiku talked about the most ridiculous things in the world. It amazes him how she managed to become a lieutenant. She giggled again. He was becoming really annoyed with her giggling. He couldn't smell any sake on her so she wasn't drunk. "Could you just spit it out already? You already have me in a bad mood!" he shouted.
"Well captain it's your birthday." She said excitedly.
His eyes widened at the realisation. Oh no, it was already that time of year. "NO!" he shouted but it was too late. She was already dragging him out the door. Over the previous year's Rangiku always planned something for his birthday every year. As the years went by it got more and more outrageous. She always managed to catch him off guard and drag him to what she called a party. Toshiro was getting scared about what this years 'surprise' would be. He began to struggle against her but she had a very tight grip on him.
"Captain, please cooperate for once." She sighed.
"No! I'm not letting you drag me into this again. It's always an excuse so you can get drunk again. Not that you need one…" He complained
"Pretty please with a watermelon on top." She begged
His struggling faltered and she giggled dragging him once more. Oh someone please save me…he thought miserably.
Somehow she had him blindfolded and put into a gigai. "You ready captain?" Rangiku asked
"Just get it over with." He replied seeing no point in trying to get out of it. She could be really persistent at times. She felt him undoing the blindfold and it fell away from his face. Light blinded him and it took his eyes a while to adjust.
"SURPRISE" A group of voices shouted
He was now standing before an ice skating rink. A lot of people he knew stood on ice-skates smiling at him. Ichigo and his friends, Rukia, Renji, Momo, Yumichika, Ikkaku, Izuru, Shūhei and somehow she even managed to drag Ukitake down into the world of the living.
"We know you've been working hard these past few weeks so we decided to throw you a small party." Rangiku said
His eyes widened and he looked over to Rangiku, she smiled at him. "Thanks Rangiku." He mumbled with a slight blush.
Sometimes the woman could really surprise him…
"But don't think this gets you out of signing papers." He whispered coldly to her so that no one but her could hear. He'll never forget the look on her face.
This really will be one of the best birthdays he ever had.

This one shot was just based on the friendship between Toshiro and Rangiku.
