A/N: I do not own this song or the rights to do. Same goes for the characters of course.
You only know what I want you to
I know everything you don't want me to
Eliza knew, she knew all the sordid secrets that China believed were kept hidden from prying eyes. But what was the point in a power that provoked undying love if you could not use it to manipulate various persons into keeping tabs on your loved one?
Your mouth is poison, your mouth is wine
The kiss left them breathless, gasping.
Eliza stands there, frozen in place against the cold, grey wall of their Church's prayer room, gazing at China as she glides away.
It was an unholy action performed in a wholly holy place and it rendered Eliza speechless, weak-kneed and intoxicated; desperately craving more.
Oh you think your dreams, the same as mine
Eliza simply did not understand. China had envisioned so much more than this mundane life she endured. She wanted to be free of the Gods who would only bring death and destruction upon them. Free like her brother was.
Eliza envisioned a future where they might finally be accepted, where the Faceless Ones walked the Earth and they worshipped the ground they walked on.
China knew they would never be accepted, and she was done worshipping.
Oh I don't love you but I always will
Oh I don't love you but I always will
Oh I don't love you but I always will
I always will
China's love for her would burn eternally, that she knew. Despite the affairs she enjoyed, despite Eliza's notorious temper and frankly abusive nature, it would always be Eliza.
When China left, Eliza told herself time and time again that she never loved her. It was all a lie, a lie, a lie she would whisper in the dark at night. She never loved her, and she always would.
I wish you'd hold me when I turn my back
The less I give the more I get back
China was drifting from her and the more Eliza did to stop it the further apart they found themselves. She cornered her when she could; groping in dark cupboards, a desperate kiss in the shrubbery.
Oh your hands can heal, your hands can bruise
China fell back, hit the floor, head reeling. In less than a second Eliza was there, a cool hand on the strike mark on her cheek. She could make it better, would always make it better, for China.
Amazing how quick people's tempers change.
Amazing how the one who hurt you can double as the one who saves you.
I don't have a choice but I still choose you
There was never a choice when it came to China. One does not choose to fall for her. To properly fall for her, that was never a choice either. She would always be there with her soft words, soft skin and softer lips that delivered the sweetest kiss.
China never chose to fall for Eliza. It had started off as a game, she knew in the eyes of her Church that two girls was wrong, bad. China did so like to be bad.
Then it all changed, one day she tripped, tripped and fell in love with a most beautiful woman.
Nothing was ever perfect, besides China herself of course, and their relationship was as far from it as you could get. She would choose Eliza, time and time again.
Oh I don't love you but I always will
Oh I don't love you but I always will
Oh I don't love you but I always will
Oh I don't love you but I always will
Oh I don't love you but I always will
Oh I don't love you but I always will
Oh I don't love you but I always will
I always will
I always will
I always will
I always will
I always will
