Hi everyone! Two chapters left until the sequel. I do not own TMNT, but I do own my OC's. Enjoy!

Lizzy's Dream

It was cold, dark where I was. And I was alone. Hugging myself and shivering slightly, I kneel on the ground and tilt my head so my hair was covering my face. I didn't know what to do. There was nothing I could do. I was just there in the dark emptiness of everything. Pain is what I felt. Pain mostly from the fight, particularly from my back. There was another source of the pain though, the pain of not knowing if everyone got out safely. The pain of knowing I couldn't protect Maggie and Ben… or my family. I was supposed go in, grab the twins, and get out so the turtles didn't have to go through all that. I knew I'd had to leave early. The twins had developed a potty mouth and would get themselves into trouble. Good thing I did too because that's exactly what happened. I wasn't expecting Shredder to attack them while I was distracted… but I probably should have.

'God it was a stupid thing to think. Of course he would have. The man has no honor,' I thought, angrily lecturing myself. Suddenly, I felt a gush of wind develop around me. Just as quickly as it came, it disappeared and an unexpected light appeared. I looked up, only to see my mom.

"Mom?" I questioned. She smiled and kneeled down in front of me before pulling me into a hug.

"Oh my beautiful baby girl. You just can't seem to get out of trouble, can you?" she chuckled while rubbing my back. Surprisingly it made it feel better.

"What are you doing here?" I asked as she pulled me away and held me at arm's length.

"Oh Lizzy, I'll always be here for you in your time of need, even in the afterlife," she smiled.

"So… you've been watching me," I noted, already knowing the answer.

"I have," she replied softly. I averted my eyes away from hers.

"So you saw what happened," I said.

"Yes I did, and I must say, I'm proud to call you my daughter," she smiled. I looked up in surprise.

"Really? How can you say that when I didn't even save the twins? And I ended putting everyone in danger," I protested softly, but she only gently caressed my face.

"I'd say you did the opposite. You were able to stall long enough for the turtles to get there. If you hadn't, the twins would have been hurt. And you even sacrificed yourself for them. Though part of me wished you'd gone with the others, I was proud of your decision," she confessed.

"What… what about the others? Are the okay? Did they get out?" I asked quickly. My mom giggled softly.

"They are fine. Maggie had a small scrape, but she's fine. They're waiting for you to wake up," she told me.

"Really?" I smiled softly in relief.

"Really truly. You took most of the hits and Shredder got you pretty good. Now everyone's just waiting for you. I mean, Mikey hasn't left you're side," she noted.

"He hasn't?" I asked.

"Nope, not at all. Honey, I may be dead, but I can tell that boy loves you to the core. Don't you go and break his heart, or I will come and haunt you, got it?" she smiled, giving me a look as my jaw dropped a little.

"Mom, I would never do that. I love him way too much," I protested. She began laughing at me.

"I'm serious though, that will never happen," I continued. She nodded.

"I know that sweetie, I was just teasing you. I can see how much you love him as much as I can see how he loves you," she smirked pulling me into another hug. It was quiet for a moment until a thought popped into my head.

"So… can I go, like you know, wake up?" I asked.

"Do you feel like you could?" she replied. I thought about the question

'I feel I could, but do I want to go just yet into the chaos. To the lectures of how I should have waited. To all the hugs that will probably hurt. To Mikey?' I thought. I smiled, knowing it was the easiest question that shouldn't even qualify as one.

"Yes," I smiled.

"Alright then," my mom stated standing up before helping me to my feet.

"But I will miss you," I replied and she smiled.

"I will always be watching you know," she smiled. I nodded.

"Which means you better not do anything inappropriate," she stated. I laughed.

"Don't worry mom, I won't," I giggled and she nodded in approval.

"Love you Lizzy," she smiled pulling me into another hug.

"Love you too mom," I replied. She stepped away and began to glow. As the light faded, so did she. Last time she did this, it saddened me. This time however, I wasn't too sad. I knew she was always watching me, making sure I was okay. And somehow, I knew she wouldn't be alone. I know all of my friends had lost someone they loved, and my mom probably is with them, and especially Teng Shen. Probably laughing and having fun, just like when she was alive. I took comfort in that. And in the fact that my friends loved ones weren't alone either.

"Alright," I said clapping my hands together, "I need to wake up. So body… wake up please. I am your master, so listen to me and get your lazy butt moving," I commanded, laughing a little. I waited a few minutes and was about to try again when a warm feeling came over me. The cold left and the darkness began to fade into light. The pain was still there, but it was less than before. I closed my eyes and waited, feeling the warmth consume my body.

Lizzy's P.O.V.

My eyes slowly opened, the light too bright at first and I could only see a green blur. As they adjusted, I saw Mikey hovering over me. I sleepily smiled. He grinned cheekily back.

"Lizzy," he said as he gently caressed my cheek with one hand and held my hand with the other.

"Hey Mikey," I replied softly squeezing his hand.

"How are you feeling? Do you need anything?" he asked, but I shook my head.

"I don't think I've been awake long enough to know how I feel," I laughed.

"Yeah, I guess you're right," he smiled. I looked around a minute until I spotted a pot of flowers on the table next to me.

"Who brought the daffodils'?" I asked, now noticing the fresh smell.

"They Davis's brought them in yesterday. They're your favorite, right?" he questioned pulling up Donnie's roller chair and sitting down.

"Yeah… but yesterday? How long have I been out?" I asked turning my attention to Mikey.

"A couple of days. Donnie said you were supposed to wake up yesterday, but you never did," he replied somewhat sadly looking away. Alright, now I feel guilty.

"Mikey… what's wrong?" I asked, but got no answer. I sighed slightly before getting onto my elbows and trying to push myself up. Mikey saw this and quickly helped me up.

"Alright, I feel pain, that's how I feel," I hissed leaning against the pillows. Mikey looked down again once this was done.

"Mikey, please tell me what's bothering you?" I plead his hands.

"Well, I guess I'm just confused on why you left without us," he murmured. It was my turn to look away. I thought a minute while playing with his hand. Mikey watched me quietly, waiting for a reply.

"I guess I didn't want to put more of my family in danger than there were already. I mean, I promised I would protect them, but I couldn't even do that," I confessed. He took his hand and took my chin gently, making me look at him. He had a small smile on his face.

"That's why you did it? Lizzy, you're part of this family, which means they're part of this family. We'll protect them just as much as you will," he comforted. I smiled and held out my arms like a little kid wanting to be held. He got up and sat on the bed before carefully pulling me into a hug. It hurt, but I really didn't care as I hugged him back.

"You should probably go tell Donnie I'm up. He'll probably want to do some tests or something like that," I giggled.

"Yeah, you're right. I'll be right back," he smiled placing a kiss on my head before leaping off the bed and out of the room, making me giggle. I could hear him yell in the distance, which was soon followed by running. The first two I saw were Maggie and Ben.

"Lizzy!" they yelled running over and jumping into a hug. I giggled happily and hugged them back. The others followed them in and came over.

"Well look who finally woke up," Raph chuckled rubbing my head.

"I was thinking you were never going to wake up again," Cade added coming up from behind Raph.

"Guy's, I told you she would wake up… it just took longer than expected," Donnie told them.

"So Lizzy, how do you feel?" Leo asked from the foot of my bed.

"Well… my back's sore and I can't feel my legs because of two particular kids," I began looking at the twins. They innocently smiled and got off.

"And other than a few sore spots, I'm okay I think," I finished.

"Well, that's good… I guess," Katie said sitting on the end of the bed.

"We are all glad that you are awake Elizabeth," Master Splinter smiled in the back with the Davis's.

"That's true, but you better not do that again. EVER," April glared with her hands on her hips. Everyone either nodded or added in their own comments. I suddenly got somewhat scared of her and smiled sheepishly.

"You don't have to tell me twice. I promise it will never happen again," I told everyone holding up my right hand and crossing my heart.

"Good," everyone chorused. As it got quiet, my stomach decided to make itself known.

"Alright, I think your stomach's trying to tell you something," Ben snickered poking my stomach. I swatted his hand away and crossed my arms over my stomach.

"Thank you captain obvious," Maggie announced crossing her arms and glaring slightly at her brother. Rolling my eyes, I flip the covers off. Looking at my leg made me notice I was still wearing my leggings. I instinctively take a look at my shirt… which was different from my black sweatshirt I wore to save the twins. I played with the bottom of my shirt as my face flushed slightly.

"Um… who changed my shirt?" I asked quietly looking up at everyone. Donnie averted his eyes and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Well, you see, I had to umm… take off your shirt and sweatshirt to tend to your wounds," he murmured. My blush darkened and my eyes grew wide. He saw this and calmly put his hinds in front of him in a 'woe' motion.

"But I didn't see anything, I swear. I had April do that," he quickly added. This calmed me down as I breathed a sigh of relief while everyone else, except Donnie, chuckled. After recovering, I swung my legs over the side of the bed and pushed myself up off the gurney. I took a few steps, decided I was alright, and gave a thumbs up. Everyone nodded and began to file out of the room. I followed last with Mikey at my side. He grabbed my hand and smiled. Then, though, he looked at me like I was some sort of porcelain doll. To be honest, I felt like one. When I stepped, pain shot through my back. It had something to do with the nerves that ran through my back… I think, but I didn't really pay attention when we went over that in biology. Anyway, I smiled back and tried to mask my pain. It must have worked because he looked forward and we continued to walk into the kitchen. It was somewhat crowded, but I didn't really mind. It was… nice, like having a big family. I took a seat next to Master Splinter and watched Mikey head over to the fridge.

"Pizza time," he laughed while rummaging through the fridge. I smiled as Donnie came over and began to argue with Mikey.

"No Mikey, not pizza. She needs a nutritious meal, like soup. And by soup I mean chicken noodle or tomato, not pizza noodle," Donnie said crossing his arms sternly.

"But Donnie," he wined, "Pizza has all the major food groups: dairy, meat veggies, fruit, and grain." This made Donnie sigh. I giggled slightly and turned away from the continuing argument.

"Only in this family would we argue about pizza," I murmured happily resting my head on my hand.

"But we are not a normal family Elizabeth," sensei added.

"And I'm glad for that sensei," I agreed glancing towards him. He nodded in agreement.

"As am I. Though I must warn you, once you are better you will have an extra hour of training for two weeks," he pointed out. I sighed and nodded.

"I kinda figured there'd be some sort of punishment," I confessed. He nodded and rubbed my head tenderly. I turned back towards everyone else, who had seemed to find a place to sit. The Davis's sat across from us talking with the twins. Cade and Raph leaned against the cabinets talking quietly with each other, laughing at times. Leo and Katie were on the other side of Master Splinter. Donnie was making the soup with April. Lastly, Mikey was pouting by the fridge. He looked over at me and caught my glance. We smiled before he came over and kissed gently on my lips.

"I'm glad you're okay," he spoke softly.

"I'm glad you are too," I replied happily. Donnie came over and placed the soup and a glass of orange juice in front of me.

"Eat up Liz, but once you're done, I want you back in bed and on bed rest for the next few days," he instructed with a stern glance.

"Fine," I muttered taking a sip of the juice.

"I serious Lizzy. If I catch you out of bed without a good reason-"

"Okay, yes. I won't leave my bed," I interrupted. He smirked and nodded heading back over to April. I looked at the group again before glancing down at the chicken noodle soup. I sniffed it happily before dipping in the spoon and slurping the contents. I licked my lips in content before dipping in the spoon once again. I continued to eat the warm broth until it was gone. I then drank the rest of the juice. I stood up to use the bathroom and Mikey got up to follow.

"I'm just going to the bathroom," I told him. He nodded and let me go. I used it quickly, washed my hands, and entered the main room where everyone had moved to.

"We should probably head back home," Mrs. Davis began.

"Really?" Maggie asked sadly.

"Yeah, and besides that, we need to stop and get the new locks for the house," Mr. Davis agreed. The twins nodded and came over to me.

"Bye Lizzy," Maggie said hugging me.

"Bye Maggie," I replied. She stepped away and Ben came forward.

"See ya Liz," Ben continued giving me a hug.

"See you too," I told him. He backed away and the two headed towards their parents.

"Bye Lizzy, feel better," Mr. Davis waved.

"I'll try, and thank you for the flowers," I thanked.

"It was our pleasure Lizzy. You saved our children after all," she smiled. I smiled back somewhat sadly and waved as the left the lair. Donnie then turned to me.

"Follow me Lizzy. I'm gonna check your wounds, but as soon as I'm done, back to bed," Donnie commanded. I nodded and followed. In the lab, he directed me towards the gurney I slept on.

"Take off your shirt and then lay on your stomach," he instructed. I looked at him with a raised eyebrow, but he rolled his eyes.

"I need to get to the wound on your back," he told me. I slowly nodded and took it off; breathing a sigh of relief once I realized I was wearing a sports bra. Then I headed over to the bed and laid down. He began to cut off the old bandage. Once that was done, he put this stuff on it that stung a little. I winced slightly.

"Sorry, I should've warned you it would sting," he apologized continuing to clean it. After, he seemed to put on a cream to cool it.

"Sit up," he commanded and I complied. He wrapped a new bandage around my torso a few times before taping it off.

"Alright, I'm done. Now head to bed," he demanded, but I turned to him with pouty face.

"Can't I just stay in the living room a little while?" I asked folding my hands in front of me.

"No."

"Please."

"No."

"PLEASE!"

"Fine," he agreed, "but only for a little while. I smiled and hugged him before grabbing the pillow and blanket from the bed before heading out into the living room. I found a spot next to Mikey, laid the pillow behind me, and sat on the couch wrapping the blanket around me. Finally I leaned my head on his shoulder. Instinctively his head rested on mine. I saw all my friends sitting around watching TV together, including Master Splinter. This made me happy to see everyone together and safe again. Suddenly a tired feeling came over me. My eyelids became heavy and I soon drifted into a deep, but happy, sleep.

There you go everyone, another chapter complete. I know this chapter seems kinda rushed like the last one, but I'm trying to finish the story before the 13th, which will be the year anaversery! I want to start the sequel on that day. With that being said, there's only one chapter left. Thank you for all the reviews. I appreciate it greatly. PLEASE read and review. BYE!
