"So, she, having been prompted by her mother, said, Give me John the Baptist's head here on a platter." Matthew 14.8
He was loved by the multitude
and hated just the same.
Cast out of towns/ A man with a wayward tongue.
Labeled as a crazy man yet his oaths always came true
but his freedom to speak had ended to soon.
An uncertain King captured poor John
not meaning to bring him any harm
But he had a giant feast
and granted a wish to his wicked niece
Who uttered "Give me his head"
With a heavy heart,
He sent guards after John.
a flash of silver and a splatter of crimson
John the Baptist was no more.
