Tangled: I Never Thought

You know, I always assumed I would always be alone. After all Flynn Rider (despite his amazing conquests) always went home to an empty house full of gold and uncountable riches – pearls, rubies, diamonds, and gold and silver coins. And to a young orphan boy that was okay because Flynn had his money.

But as I got older you know I started to get to know women, there was a hole in my heart. I pretended not to care. I pretended it wasn't there and for a time that worked.

Then I met Blondie.

She had my crown, my uncountable riches and that empty hole I had filled with womanizing, drinking, gambling, and promised riches flooded open. And I found myself – without any of my doing – cuddling up to her, falling in love with her.

I never thought I would love some innocent, bright eyed, blonde haired, child. For a starters my type had always been older, experienced, brunette women. Definitely not a seventeen or eighteen year old girl.

But I did.

And she was good; the right from wrong type of girl. I'm, was, a thief and a good one at that. And just as I thought I couldn't get any more surprised, Blondie turned out to the lost princess.

A bunch of things happened next and I found myself head over heels in love with her. Then she married me. Me! She wanted me; she chose me.

"Eugene? Are you coming?" Rapunzel called from inside the bedroom.

Eugene smiled to himself, before answering from the balcony, "Just a second."

Standing on the balcony, outside their bedroom, Eugene, the former Flynn Rider, looked out over the city, he, the Prince Consort would one day help Blondie rule over. Not that she needed any help; she was going to be a great ruler and an amazing queen. Like she knew that she would one day be a brilliant, loving mother.

You know, I never thought I'd settle down. I never thought I'd find that one person to spend my life with. I never thought I'd be a husband or even worth loving.

I never thought I'd have a beautiful wife who would also be the next Queen. I never thought I would have a family or someone to love.

"Eugene!"

With a chuckle, "I'm coming!"

Eugene Fitzherbert walked into his bedroom that he shared with his beautiful wife and felt his breath hitch as he took in her sight.

Short brown hair, large oh-so-too innocent green eyes, thin waist, hips, and beautifully sized breasts and grinned. Not just for the fact that he was indeed the most luckiest man in the kingdom that he had her but that he was so happy.

You know, I never thought it was possible for anyone, let alone me to be so happy, so blessed.

Who knew right?
