Author's InCOHEREnT RAMBLINGS: First chapter. I promise to finish my other fics I just don't know when.
Brandon's leg shook nervously on the subway. He was in a hurry to get back to his apartment. To get back to her. To hold her in his arms to know she was okay. He takes his phone out of his pocket and sends a text.
Almost home
You know you don't have to check up on me every few minutes you know
Actually I do
Worry wart
The train stops and he jumps up from his seat.
Ever since Cissy's recent hospital "visit" the route home seemed to take longer than normal. The scenery of New York that he usually like to view on his way home he couldn't care less about anymore. He just wanted to get home.
Inside the apartment he calls out for her. She doesn't answer and he panics. His chest tightens up and the familiar knot in the pit of his stomach. He frantically searches starting with the bathroom. Where he found her before. And busts open into his room.
His immediate relief is brief but fulfilling. With headphones in her ears and a magazine on her lap. She's fine, safe.
Then he's annoyed. He rips the headphones out of her ears.
"Hey, the fuck Brandon?!"
"I was calling for you." He said as if that was answer enough. Went over to his drawers to pull out a change of clothes. He cleared his throat. And again more pointedly.
"What're you sick or something?"
"Cissy out!" He yelled.
She winced and slowly left the room.
He ran his hands through his hair feeling guilty.
It was his fault wasn't it? Everything was his fault.
