AN: Hey guys! I know it's been a long while since I last updated anything... I feel pretty guilty about it. I've been really busy for the past few months... I have no idea when I'm going to be back but here's a little short story...
I felt the sun hit my face. I opened my eyes and tried to readjust to the light. Once that was over, I checked the time. It was only 6 in the morning. I yawned and stretched. Hm. I felt the cold sheets hit my arms. I turned and found an empty side of the bed. Oh yeah. I'm at Maura's. I let out a short sigh as I got up. The door was slightly open. I grabbed my hoodie as I walked pass the chair. The familiar smell of coffee brushed my nostrils. I hummed as I got down the stairs. Maura Isles is making me breakfast? I tried not to make any noise. I poked my head into the kitchen. Maura was facing back at me. She was looking through the fridge. I smiled at myself. I leaned on the wall as she turned back towards me. She didn't notice me at first. Google-mouth is busy making me breakfast. I smiled again, restraining myself to go grab her by the waist. She looked up.
"Am I dreaming or you're making me breakfast?"
I chuckled and sat down. She continues to cook while I look at her. Maura Isles is making me breakfast. Since the beginning of our relationship, I always asked myself how did I even deserve such a wonderful women. Maura smiled. I got up and walked towards her.
"Jane...", she started.
I closed the distance between us. My arms wrapped around her little waist and I placed my chin on her shoulder. I closed my eyes, breathing in her honey colored hair.
"I love you.", I said before dropping soft kisses from her shoulder to her neck.
She let the knife go and turned towards me. Maura slung her arms around my neck and looked at me with her hazel eyes that takes my breath away every time.
"I love you too."
I kissed her lightly on the lips. We rested our foreheads on each other for a few seconds before she got back to working on my breakfast again.
