Chapter 1
Wondering

Natasha was sat on her bedroom floor, her back leaning against her bed. She had a pen in her hand and was writing in her diary, pausing occasionally to chew lightly on her pen and think what to write next. Her long dirty blonde hair was slowly unhooking itself from behind her ear and falling into her eyes; she sighed impatiently and shoved it back behind her ear as she returned to writing.

Dear Diary,

It's been three weeks now since I've seen my friend Clary, and three weeks of pure hell. She was my only friend, the only person who accepted me. Even my parents seem cagey around me, the only person I really have now is my 10 year old brother. I'm like the odd one out, I just don't fit in. I don't even look like the rest of my family, all with their dark brown hair and hazel eyes, and me with my blonde hair and blue eyes. They're all good at maths, really smart and not in the least creative, whereas I love drawing, I play instruments and find it all easy, but can't do maths to save my life. Well, I suppose I'm just different. I really wish Clary would come back; it would make my life a hell of a lot easier.

She sighed as she closed her beloved diary, she never went anywhere without it. You could tell it was dear to her from the cover, wearing away with use and age. She slowly stood up and made her way to her bedside table and laid down her diary while stifling a yawn before ungracefully flopping onto her bed and falling into a fitful sleep.

-The next day-

*beep* *beep* *beep*

Natasha half opened her eyes as she blindly swatted her hand around trying to find her alarm clock, when she finally hit the off button she slowly sat up and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. It was seven o'clock, she got out of bed and stumbled over to her wardrobe, tripping up over all the junk scattered around her bedroom floor in her wake and managed to find her school uniform.

When she was finally dressed and had eaten her breakfast she swung her heavy, book laden backpack over her shoulder and dashed out of her front door, desperately searching the busy streets for a cab, she was sure she would be late, and her homeroom teacher would sure give her hell for it.

-10 minutes later-

To her surprise she had found a cab in less than a minute and was leisurely walking up to the school gates, she laughed to herself, picturing the look on Mrs Taylor's face when she walked in on time.

She snapped out of her daze when she saw a flick of red hair, she sighed, knowing that it wouldn't be Clary, it couldn't be. She would have text her if she was coming back, then again, she thought she would have text her if she was going away. Natasha pushed away all thoughts of Clary from her mind; she didn't want to be worrying all day.

The redhead that she first thought might have been Clary was leant against the gatepost as if waiting for someone. As Natasha walked closer, it was as if her wish had come true, it was Clary! She was actually standing by the gate, she was actually there!

Hey guys, this is my second Fanfic (although my first isn't finished yet) I hope you liked it so far!
I'm sorry about the chapter being so short, but I'll try and make the others longer!

Yup, a pretty crappy title, but oh well :P

Btw, this chapter is not set at the end of the mortal instruments (mainly because I haven't finished all of them yet) it is set pretty early on.

Please review, it would mean a lot to me, and tell me if you have any ideas for other chapters!
