Wow. Here it is, the last chapter. I thought Christmas would be a good time for Finn and Rachel to tell Allie because I love writing the Finchel family at Christmas so much :) Plus, Christmas is coming soon :) I loved writing a crossover between my two universes and would definitely like to write another fic with both Allie and Emma at some point, maybe when they're a little older. Right now I do have another story I'm working on that's like a behind the scenes Finchel story if you want to check that out, and I'm also planning a new AU fic. So, hope you guys enjoy the last chapter and review if you want me to keep writing.

Chapter 30: Officially A Hudson

"Wake up! It's Christmas!"

Allie looked up and saw Sarah at the edge of her bed. "Aren't I the one who wakes people up on Christmas?" she giggled. After all, last year she'd been the one who woke everyone up.

"I'm waking you up!" Sarah said. "Besides, Lea was crying and she woke me up."

Allie got out of her bed. "Yeah, she did start getting her teeth." Lea began teething later than Cory did, and Finn and Rachel had been concerned at first, but earlier this week, they'd spotted her first tooth.

"Want to go wake up Emma and Ryan?" Allie asked Sarah.

"Yeah!" Sarah said. "Merry Christmas Allie!"

Allie hugged her little sister. "Merry Christmas Sarah. Did Mom, Dad, Lea and Cory go back to sleep?"

"Yeah," Sarah said as they went into Ryan's room. "Wake up, Ryan! It's Christmas!" Sarah said.

Ryan got out of bed almost right away. "Last year it was Allie. The year before it was me. Now it's you. I guess Emma's got to wake everyone up next year."

"Guess so," Allie said. She looked at the clock, it was 7:30. At least this was later than she'd gotten everyone up last year.

Allie, Ryan and Sarah went into Emma's room. "Emma! Get up! It's Christmas!" Sarah said, pulling the covers off Emma's bed.

Emma got out of bed. "I know it's Christmas."

"And you have to wake everyone up next year!" Ryan said.

"Okay," Emma giggled. "Let's go get Mom, Dad, Cory and Lea."

The four oldest kids went upstairs and knocked on the door of their parents' room. However, Finn and Rachel were coming out of the room. "We should have known the four of you would beat us when it comes to waking up," Finn said.

"Let's get Cory and Lea, and then we can go see what Santa brought you," Rachel said.

"Okay," the older kids said as their parents woke up their little brother and sister.

"It's their first Christmas!" Allie said. Even though she had several younger siblings, this was the first time she'd be here for one of their first Christmases. That was pretty special for her.

"Let's go see what Santa brought!" Sarah said. Allie almost said something, as she was beginning to have her suspicions about Santa, but she decided not to.

"Look, it snowed last night!" Emma said, looking out the window.

"It did," Finn said.

"We got a white Christmas!" Ryan exclaimed.

When the family got downstairs, Finn turned on the lights and the Christmas tree, revealing the six piles of gifts. "Let's watch the DVD first!" Emma said.

"Of course," Rachel said as she put in the DVD. It had the same magic as last year's - footprints in the snow, the cookies disappearing, the presents appearing in the stockings and under the tree, and the jingling of bells and message for the kids as the movie ended.

"It's so cool!" Sarah said.

"Yes it is," Rachel said. "You know, Santa should have left those for me when I was a kid."

"And for me," Finn said. "I guess you guys are just too special."

The kids then tore into their presents. This year Allie had gotten each of her family members something with her own money - baby blankets for Cory and Lea, a stuffed bunny for Sarah, a lego for Ryan, a journal for Emma, and frames for Finn and Rachel to put photos in at their offices at work. When they'd been in New York for Thanksgiving, she'd bought them when she went Black Friday shopping with Kurt. She was pretty happy with her assortment of gifts she'd gotten. Sarah had given an outfit for one of her American Girl dolls, Ryan had gotten her some sheet music for her viola and Emma had given her some new earrings. From her parents and/ or Santa, she'd gotten some books, DVDs, sheet music, jewelry and outfits and accessories for her American Girl dolls.

"We've got something for all six of you," Finn said after all the kids had finished opening their presents.

The older kids perked up. "What is it?"

"You'll have to see," Rachel said.

Finn put Cory in Rachel's arms and went into the basement. He came back with a small beagle with a ribbon around its neck.

"A dog!" Emma exclaimed.

"Yup!" Rachel said. "He's ours!"

"He's so cute," Allie said, going over to pet the dog. Ryan, Emma and Sarah went over to pet the dog as well. Even Cory and Lea perked up and smiled and made cute baby noises at the sight of the dog.

"It is about time we get a pet!" Ryan said.

"We thought you guys would like one," Rachel said. "We've wanted to get one for a while."

"Thank you so much!" Allie said.

"There is something for you," Finn said to Allie. "It's from all of us, but particularly from your mom and me."

"What is it?" Emma asked. "You didn't tell me about it."

"Or me," Ryan added.

Rachel handed Allie an envelope. Allie opened it up and saw some papers. She was confused as to what they were for until she saw the last one. It looked like an official document.

The last few lines did it for her.

"Child's name: Alexandra Faith Cummings Hudson ("Allie"). Parents' names: Finnegan Christopher Hudson ("Finn"), Rachel Barbra Berry Hudson. Siblings' names: Ryan Nicholas Hudson, Emma Grace Hudson, Sarah Elizabeth Hudson, Cory Christopher Hudson, Lea Michele Hudson."

"You were approved?" Allie asked, looking at Finn and Rachel with excitement.

"Yes we were," Rachel said. "We were approved in November, but we thought Christmas would be a good time to tell you."

"Wow!" Allie said, feeling so happy. She was now, not just biologically, but legally, related to her parents and her siblings. "I'm so glad you were approved!" She went over to hug Finn and Rachel, then to hug each of her siblings and pet the dog. She'd always loved her adoptive parents, and she missed them every day, but it still felt good to be legally related to the people she loved so much. Being adopted always had its challenges, and now she wouldn't have to explain anymore why she had a different last name from her parents and siblings. Her adoptive parents' last name was still part of her name, so she'd always have a part of them with her.

The family had pancakes for breakfast and changed into holiday clothes before the extended family came over. Allie couldn't wait to tell her grandparents, uncles and cousins that her parents had been approved.

The doorbell rang when it was almost lunchtime, and it was Kurt and Blaine with their sons. "We got a dog!" Ryan said as they came in.

"You did?!" Michael asked. He turned to his dads. "I want a dog."

"I'll think about that," Blaine said.

"Merry Christmas!" Allie said as she hugged her uncles and her cousins. Now they legally were her uncles and cousins.

"Did your parents tell you?" Kurt asked.

"So you knew?" Allie asked.

"Yeah, they knew," Rachel said.

"I wanted to tell you!" Allie giggled.

"Well, we're really glad you're legally part of the family now," Blaine said.

"Me too!" Allie said.

"Their dog is so cool," Michael told his dads.

"So, how are Cory and Lea enjoying their first Christmas?" Kurt asked.

Finn looked over at his youngest son and daughter in their playpen. "I think the wrapping paper is their favorite part."

The doorbell rang again, and Allie went to answer it. This time it was Burt and Carole. She decided to tell them right off. "My parents were approved!"

"You were?" Carole asked, looking at Finn. "Finn, why didn't you tell us?"

"Only Kurt and Blaine knew," Finn said.

"And Lea and Cory, but they can't tell anyone," Rachel added with a laugh.

"That's such great news," Burt said.

"Grandpa, we got a dog too!" Sarah said.

"You did?" Burt asked.

"Yeah, it's about time these kids get a pet!" Rachel said.

"He's so cute," Carole said. "So, a dog and officially having Allie as your sister. This must be the best Christmas ever."

"It is!" Emma exclaimed. Allie smiled at her sister. She thought so, too. The doorbell rang again, and this time it was Rachel's dads. They were just excited by the news as Burt and Carole had been.

When everyone had arrived, the family sat down to Christmas dinner. Allie and Emma had helped Rachel make the dinner, and everyone commented on how good the food was. Sarah and Michael had tried to feed some of the food to Cory and Lea, but right now they had to stick to baby food.

After dinner, Blaine turned to Kurt. "Does everyone want to hear our Christmas duet?" Every year since high school, Kurt and Blaine had an annual duet they sang at Christmas.

Everyone wanted to hear the duet, so Kurt and Blaine took seats at the piano and performed the duet.

Kurt: Didn't know what to get you
Ordinary just wouldn't do
But I just found the perfect gift for you
Blaine: Now I got it all ready
But it's not wrapped in red or green
Come and sit down beside me here
Underneath the Christmas tree
Both: We've got mistletoe and firelight
On this cold December night
The snow outside will set the mood
As I sing my song for you
I hear church bells a-ringin'
Carolers are singing harmony with me now
You are looking so lovely, yeah
Even if the lights go out
We've got mistletoe and firelight
On this cold December night
The snow outside will set the mood
As I sing my song for you
I hear church bells a-ringin'
Carolers are singing harmony with me now
You are looking so lovely, yeah
Even if the lights go out
Blaine: You're so beautiful
I only hope you see what I see (see)
Both: Every word is meant to show you how much you mean to me
Kurt: We've got mistletoe and firelight
On this cold December night
Both: The snow outside will set the mood
As I sing my song
We've got mistletoe (Kurt: mistletoe) and firelight (Blaine: firelight)
On this cold December night
The snow outside will set the mood
As I sing my song (Both: sing my song), sing my song for you.

Everyone applauded at the end of the duet, and then Kurt turned to Finn and Rachel. "You should do one, too!"

"Us?" Rachel asked.

"Yeah!" Allie said to her parents.

"Well, we do have some sheet music for some Christmas songs," Finn said. "I'm in if you are."

"Any excuse to sing a duet with my husband," Rachel said. So Finn and Rachel took a seat at the piano and began playing the music to their duet.

Finn: Children sleeping, snow is softly falling

Dreams are calling like bells in the distance
Rachel: We were dreamers not so long ago
But one by one we all had to grow up
Both: When it seems the magic's slipped away
We find it all again on Christmas day
Finn: Believe in what your heart is saying
Hear the melody that's playing
There's no time to waste
There's so much to celebrate
Rachel: Believe in what you feel inside
And give your dreams the wings to fly
You have everything you need
If you just believe
Finn: Trains move quickly to their journey's end
Destinations are where we begin again
Rachel: Ships go sailing far across the sea
Trusting starlight to get where they need to be
Both: When it seems that we have lost our way
We find ourselves again on Christmas day
Finn: Believe in what your heart is saying
Hear the melody that's playing
There's no time to waste
There's so much to celebrate
Rachel: Believe in what you feel inside
And give your dreams the wings to fly
You have everything you need
Finn: If you just believe
Rachel: If you just believe
Finn: If you just believe
Rachel: If you just believe
Both: If you just believe

"See, you guys are good at Christmas duets, too!" Kurt said.

"How about all four of you sing one together?" Hiram asked.

"Yeah, we don't get to hear all four of you together very often," LeRoy said.

"I like that idea," Rachel said.

"Well, let's join you guys," Blaine said as he and Kurt sat down at the piano.

Rachel: Just hear those sleigh bells jingling,
Ring ting tingling too
Come on, it's lovely weather
For a sleigh ride together with you
Finn: Outside the snow is falling
And friends are calling "yoo hoo",
Come on, it's lovely weather
For a sleigh ride together with you.
Kurt: Giddy yap, giddy yap, giddy yap,
Let's go, Let's look at the show,
We're riding in a wonderland of snow.
Blaine: Giddy yap, giddy yap, gidd yap,
It's grand, Just holding your hand,
We're gliding along with a song
Of a wintry fairy land
Kurt: Our cheeks are nice and rosy
And comfy cozy are we
Kurt and Blaine: We're snuggled up together
Like two birds of a feather would be
Finn and Rachel: Let's take that road before us
And sing a chorus or two
Kurt, Blaine, Finn and Rachel: Come on, it's lovely weather
For a sleigh ride together with you.
Kurt: There's a birthday party
At the home of Farmer Gray
Blaine: It'll be the perfect ending a perfect day
We'll be singing the songs
Finn: We love to sing without a single stop
At the fireplace while we watch
The chestnuts pop. pop! pop! pop!
Rachel: There's a happy feeling
Nothing in the world can buy
When they pass around the coffe and the pumpkin pie
Kurt and Blaine: It'll nearly be like a picture print by Currier and Iives
These wonderful things are the things
We remember all through our lives!
Finn and Rachel: Just hear those sleigh bells jingling,
Ring ting tingling too
Come on, it's lovely weather
For a sleigh ride together with you
Kurt and Blaine: Outside the snow is falling
And friends are calling "yoo hoo",
Finn, Rachel, Kurt and Blaine: Come on, it's lovely weather
For a sleigh ride together with you.
It's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you.

"You guys sing really good Christmas songs," Allie said.

"Thank you," Rachel said.

"This has really been the best Christmas ever," Allie said.

"I think so, too," Finn said. They were all so happy Allie was finally part of the family in every way.

The rest of the day went great. After Kurt, Blaine, Michael and Brendan went to visit Blaine's parents, Finn and Rachel watched a movie with their parents while the kids played with the dog and their new presents. The Hudson family watched a movie together later after the grandparents had gone home before it was time to put the kids to bed.

"Did you guys have a good Christmas?" Finn asked his kids.

"Such a good Christmas!" Sarah said.

"Thank you for all the surprises," Ryan said.

"Do you think Cory and Lea had a good first Christmas?" Rachel asked.

Finn looked at his two youngest kids. "I think they did." He turned back to the kids. "Come on, let's get you guys to bed."

"I'm really glad you're my mom and dad," Allie said before she headed up to bed.

"We're glad you're our daughter," Rachel said.

Back in high school, Finn had dreamed of being a star in the NFL with lots of superbowls and Rachel had dreamed of being a Broadway star with a mantle full of Tonys. They'd ended up with six better things - Allie, Emma, Ryan, Sarah, Lea and Cory. They couldn't have imagined a better life.
