A/N: My third drabble for the lola's ten topics, ten drabbles challenge – for the pairing of Ginny and Hermione. This pairing isn't usually my cup of tea but I tried to do such well loved characters at least some justice. 'Fire and Ice' by Robert Frost helped a great deal while writing this. Reviews/constructive criticism/questions/whatever are much appreciated. I don't own Harry Potter. xo

"Some say the world will end in fire,

Some say in ice."

- Fire and Ice by Robert Frost

Ginny was a blazing inferno, leaving nothing but cinders in her wake.

Hermione's very touch gave frostbite.

Yes, the world shall end, but not today.

Instead, the two young lovers barricaded themselves inside Hermione's tiny London flat, listening to the cars and people and birds and life passing them by. The world goes on uninterrupted, but inside those walls, they were the only two people on Earth.

Around them, time may be frozen, but the trail of kisses that Ginny so carefully placed on Hermione's neck felt as if they were afire.

"We'd never make it in the real world," said Hermione, because there was a reason why people said it would always be either fire, or ice.

"This isn't the real world," said Ginny, kissing all conversation away.

Yes, the world shall end, but not today.
