Read on!

It had been years since Chase's last nightmare. It had been so long, in fact, that tonight was Chase's last night in the house with his siblings, Douglas, Tasha and Mr Davenport. Tomorrow morning Chase was leaving to go to one of the highest achieving colleges in the countries on a scholarship. Since the world now knew about the bionic siblings Chase had been permitted his own room with his capsule and was allowed to leave to help with missions when necessary.

Even though Chase had dreamed about it since Leo had shown them the outside world, and he would be seeing his family often, he still couldn't get the feeling that he was going to regret leaving them, his family.

Shaking off his feelings a best he could, he stepped out of his capsule and stretched, one last night. Obviously it called for a middle of the night kitchen visit.

He quietly summoned the elevator and went upstairs, he went over to the sink and poured himself a glass of water, which he downed in one. He spotted his old blanket and scooped it up smiling at the memories it held, snuggling up with his family at Christmas to open gifts, watching movies… Even before that, when they hadn't been let out of the lab, the stories of Cinderella, Peter Pan and Aladdin were held in his memory data base, with him and his brother and sister snuggling underneath the piece of fabric. He smiled when he remembered the night he had snuck out of the lab and hid under the blanket to hide from the monsters that were in the darkness. How far had he come?

He smiled as he pondered over all the memories the blanket held. When he heard another figure enter the room he spun around, only to see Mr Davenport, making himself his late night coffee. Huh, more like extremely early morning coffee if you asked Chase.

Donald turned to look at Chase, "couldn't sleep?"

Chase shook his head and turned his attention back to the blanket. While he waited for the coffee to brew, Donald wandered over to Chase and saw what he was looking at. "Some memories, huh?"

"Yeah… Remember all the nightmares I used to have?"

"Uh huh, I didn't get any sleep when you were little because you couldn't shake them off…" Donald smiled, "Lot's changed."

"Tasha and Leo joining the family, going on missions, going into the real world, Douglas, Krane, Leo getting bionics…" Chase trailed off and smiled sadly.

Donald frowned, "Chase, what aren't you telling me?"

Chase fumbled with his blanket and looked up, "I'm scared."

Donald tried to make the situation lighter and chuckled, "Chase, we established this years ago, there are no monsters in the lab."

Despite Chase trying to be serious about the whole thing, he couldn't help but smile. "Funny… No, I'm scared about leaving. I'm scared to be without Adam and Bree and Leo and Tasha and you… Even Eddy!"

Donald smiled, "Chase, this is a fantastic opportunity for you, you can come back whenever you want-"

"But it won't be the same… I won't be able to tease Leo every day, I won't be able to help Bree with her homework, I won't be Adam's punching bag, I won't be able to work on inventions with you-"

"Chase! Calm down. Like I said, everything is going to be fine, you can come back whenever you want. It's not like we're shutting the door in your face." He placed a hand on his son's shoulder, "you're going to come home every weekend so we can all bug you about how awesome this opportunity is for you. Plus, I need your help on Exoskeleton 0.4. So you'll have to come back!" Chase laughed and Donald pulled him in for a hug, "Chase, I'm so proud of you, of what you've become, what you've achieved… Just, don't forget us, yeah?" After a moment Donald took an envelope from his desk drawer, "I was going to give it to you after you finished college and you don't have to take it if you don't want it but, here…" He handed him a white envelope which felt heavy. Chase opened it and inside were some keys. "They're the keys to Davenport industries… After you finish you can take over the business, make it your own… If you want…"

Chase's eyes welled with tears, he couldn't believe it… He could own Davenport industries…

"Chase?"

Chase's only response was to tackle his father with a hug. "Love you, Daddy…"

"Love you too Chasey."

There you go, the last chapter. Hope you enjoyed it!
