Ch 5: The Uninvited Guest
The next morning was very hectic; Giotto's guardians were tearing the mansion apart, bit by bit as they looked for their wayward boss and his late night intruder. However, oblivious to them, she and Giotto were still sleeping in his room.
The manor was upside down, and inside out when the guardians were done. Yet they still could not find their targets; this caused panic and havoc. Even the normally distant cloud and mist guardians joined in the search.
As they weaved from room to room, Lampo had pointed out that they had not searched any private rooms. Starting from the ground floor, they cleared through room after room; checking their own personal rooms as well as the servant's quarters.
Reaching the very last door, they carefully peek into their leader's bedroom. No intention of waking the mafia don from his pleasant slumber. As they stepped in to scan the surrounding, they were stunned silent. Eyes wide and mouths gaping open, they could not fathom the scene present in front of them. Giotto was sound asleep on the couch with Tsunako kneeling beside him, head on his chest and fast asleep. Obviously the little brunette had intended to cover Giotto with a blanket in the middle of the night; however, it was unsure to them why she did not return to bed.
Signally for everyone to leave the room, G turned to look at the couple. A slow smile made its way to his lips, and he happily turned to leave; closing the door gently.
Soon after, Giotto woke up to a comforting weight on his chest. Peering down, he was shocked to see Tsunako sleeping on top of his chest. Noticing the way her hands were placed a top of the blanket he now had, he grinned. She must have fallen asleep when she tried to cover him with a blanket.
Running his fingers through her soft hair, he gingerly sat up, ignoring his aching back. Swinging his legs over the couch, he steadied Tsunako with one hand whilst he lifted the blanket with the other. Giotto draped the blanket over his right shoulder before lifting up the petite brunette. Depositing her on his bed, he laid the blanket on top of her small form.
Quickly but quietly he got ready for the day; dressed in his normal black slacks and a loose white button up shirt, he rushed through his daily personal hygiene tasks. As he checks the mirror for his appearance, Tsunako's chocolate brown eyes fluttered open. Watching her groggily sit up, he chirped a happy, good morning, before going out the door and down the stairs in search of some breakfast.
Stepping through the doors of the dining room, he felt the intent gazes directed at him from his guardians; instead of taking notice, he quietly walked. Breakfast was eaten in deadly silence; even the sound of a pin dropping could be heard.
With breakfast finished, Giotto left the dining to the study intending to finish off his paper work; alas he wasn't quick enough, his guardians sat him back down in his chair before they bombarded him with questions.
"Why to the Extreme was she is your room?" asked Knuckle, voice unusually soft for the sun guardian.
"Did you do anything indecent to her?" asked Asari, the rain guardian, narrowing his eyes dangerously.
"She isn't yours." stated Alaude, flashing his handcuffs and a deadly glare to Primo.
"You forced her didn't you!" accused the mist guardian, Daemon.
"You didn't hurt the little lady did you?" inquired the lightning guardian, Lampo.
"She did not do anything to you did she?" asked G, the storm guardian, as he put the safety of his best friend first.
Giotto could not help the sigh that escaped his lips, 'This might be the best morning I've had in years' thought Giotto, sarcastically.
Sitting on the bed in a daze, Tsunako was confused why she wasn't in her own room. The confusing quickly turned to anger when she realised that she was sleeping in Giotto's room, on his bed. Did he want to tarnish her reputation? She was going to give him a piece of her mind when she finds him, she thought. 'How could he, no scratch that, how dare he bring her to his room.' Tsunako's mood lightened at the thought of how she would torture him, to make sure he would never do it again unless given permission.
Sighing one last time, she left his room to go to her own, she needed to her garments. After doing so, she walked down the hall towards the dining room. Changing her mind mid-way, Tsunako quickly made a bee line heading off into the forest. She intended to go see her new lion friend, forgetting the fact that she has yet eaten.
Walking at a comfortable pace, her tummy rumbled, signalling she was hungry. Tsunako glanced around, trying to look for some familiar fruits when she stumbled across a lake with a gigantic apple tree right next to the water. Picking some apples, she washed them and settled down on the grass beside the water.
Peacefully eating her apples, she noticed something fall out of the sky. Tsunako quickly finished her apple and rushed towards the falling object, intending to identify it. She wasn't quick enough to catch it and it fell on to a tree near the other side of the lake; curious she walked towards it, surprised when she found that it was none other than, Reborn.
Roborn groaned loudly as he got up; jumping down the tree, his feet had yet to touch the ground before he was assaulted by a small brunette. Watching her make her way towards him, Reborn quickly side stepped, allowing Tsunako to land on her face as she fell to the ground.
As she lay there unmoving, Reborn got really worried; he inched forward slowly to check her consciousness.
Tsunako inwardly grinned as he sensed Reborn inching forward. She was lying there waiting to be assisted up, and when she was she hugged the man furiously, ending up in his lap crying. When Tsunako started crying she didn't stop, Reborn helplessly sat down on the ground with her in his lap trying to calm hysteric but silent brunette.
After a few minutes, the brunette's tears dried as she hung on to her tutor for dear life. As worried as he was, Reborn quickly nudged her face towards him and asked her how she was. Tsunako could only shake her head as she touched her throat. Realising what had happened straight away, he lifted his hand to massage her scalp. He knew she had intentionally cut off her own vocal cords, he taught her this technique and was proud that she could accurately pin point her own vagal nerve.
They stood up after a few minutes and started walking side by side, back towards the side of the lake where Tsunako was sitting at earlier. Suddenly, they heard a growl. Reborn quickly turned around and prepared his gun, but Tsunako stopped him. She ran up to the lion and flung her arms around his neck. When the lion pushed her down onto the ground, Reborn felt his heart stopped.
Aki was very gentle towards the brunette, he did not want to hurt her. When she ran towards him and hugged him, he tackled her towards the ground with intentions of getting a good cuddle. Looking up at the man and the lizard, the lion started to lick the brunette furiously, confused as to why she didn't make a sound.
Face scrunched up in laughter, Tsunako petted Aki's head and gently nudged him away. She looked up at the still stunned Reborn and saw that he had gone quite pale. Standing up, she starte towards him. Hearing another growl from behind her, Tsunako realised that Aki did not like Reborn and she beckoned the lion towards her. Guiding it slowly and moving it closer to Reborn.
When they were directly in front of each other she took her tutor's hand and put it in front of the Aki's nose. As he gave it a little sniff, he growled. Tsunako shook her head disapprovingly at the lion. Reprimanded, he stopped growling and let Reborn pet his mane.
