"Okay so it says here, too slowly add the eggs and fold them gently into the batter," Mai, Nagisa's eldest sister reads out, "I said gently Gou-chan," Mai calls out rushing to Gou's side to fix her mistake.

"It's Kou," Gou indignantly protests but Mai just ignores it and Gou sighs, she might as well give up entirely.

"Okay," Mei sighs that's the batter done pausing she frowns, "I think?"

Gou looks over at the recipe, "what do you mean I think? This is your cake shop," which cause Mai to shrug.

"I mainly run the finances, my boyfriend is the one that does most of the baking," Mai answears the question indifferently but what she is interested in, is why the red head manager came to her to ask for her help to make her younger brothers birthday cake.

Gou rubs her temples, "you almost as bad as Nagisa-kun," pausing she covers her mouth and blushes, "not in a bad way Nagisa has good points as well and so do you," Gou rushes through her sentence and takes a deep breath at the end.

Mai smiles, "so why are you trying so hard for my baby brother?"

Gou immediately finds interest in the red food colouring on the countertop, "well, he's tried really hard I the swim club and the senpai's are busy…." She trails off the subtle blush that had appeared on her cheeks getting darker by the minute.

Mai raises an eyebrow about to question further but Gou gets there first wanting to divert the subject, "How did your parent's allow you to run a cake shop," pausing Gou rushes on forward to explain feeling very embarrassed, "I mean Nagisa's…um I mean your parents didn't want him to join the swim club, so why this ?"

"I guess it's because I already got my degree and it's a proper job, I'm not just messing around," Mai explains as she slips the cake into the oven and sets the timer. Turning round Mai is about to ask what she thinks of her brother but she's already bustling around the kitchen.

"I'm going to make the icing," Gou states though when she stands looking lost in the middle of the kitchen, Mai is slightly concerned over the future of their cake.

"Do you know, how to make icing?" she asks tentatively and Gou vigorously nods before going in a mad rush around the kitchen and Mai is pretty sure she is making herself busy to avoid any further questions.

Though all actions are cut short when Nagisa bursts in unannounced, "Mai-nee!" he calls out and does a double take when he sees Gou, "Gou-chan, what are you doing here ?"

"Nothing," came Gou's immediate reply and Mai's pretty sure holding a bowl of icing behind your back does not account for nothing.

"I was just helping out Mai-san," Gou corrects her previous response, realising how flawed it though Nagisa doesn't take the bait. Though Mai would be surprised if anyone bought that.

"You're a terrible liar, Gou-chan," Nagisa says leaning forward and quickly snatches the bowl out of Gou's hands much to the protests of the two girls.

"What?" Nagsia says looking up, though a slow grin starts to form, "this is for my birthday." He says with a slightly questioning tone though when both stay silent and avoid looking him in the eye, he laughs.

"Gou-chan," he says between fits of giggles.

"Oh shut up Nagisa," Gou mutters almost as red as her hair.

"Sorry Gou-chan," Dipping a finger in the icing he continues, "I'm sure your hard work will be delicious."

As soon as Nagisa tastes the icing he blanches and coughs which alarms Gou who runs and gets a glass of water to hand to him.

"YOU DON'T PUT SALT IN THE ICING !"

A/N: Yeah I know a bit late -shot- Anyway this comes from my random head canon that Nagisa's eldest sister runs a cake shop also this chapter makes me excited, since I remember writing for Nagisa's birthday last year and that I remember the legal drinking age in Japan is 20 not 18 OTL

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NAGISA
