What did I just Witness?
There they stood. It was the middle of the night and they were on their way back to LME so Kyoko could drop off Maria with her grandfather after spending a day wondering the city. But despite the plans that had been made, there they stood. With three tall bastards standing in their way.
"Hey missy," The leader practically sang.
Kyoko winced slightly as the scent of alcohol panged in her head from the breath it flourished off of
"What are you doing out this late all alone?" He did a quick mock pout and continued, "Could you have been looking for us?"
"Dream on," Kyoko snarled, normally she had a very good tolerance for idiots and drunkards but he wasn't going to let these jerks get away with that kind of behavior in front of a friendly little kid like Maria.
"Hey," The skinnier of the two cronies barked. "I don't like that tone of voice," A little smile crept up onto his lips. "Maybe we should teach her some manners," He handed a metal pipe that came from who knows to his boss.
"Good idea," The smile disappeared off of the leader's face as he turned back forward. "Where'd they go?" He asked, already knowing the answer as he could practically see a cloud of dust from where they had taken off. "Boys," He scowled. "It looks like we're goin' huntin' tonight!"
Kyoko slowed to a halt after taking Maria a safe distance from the weird street thugs. "Maria-chan are you okay?" Kyoko knelt down and placed the little girl back on her own two feet.
"I'm fine!" Maria assured. Her eyes went wide and her stomach felt cold as the thugs rounded a corner and started approaching them.
"Maria-chan," Kyoko knelt down at her level for only a moment to say, "I'll stay here, you go get help,"
Maria didn't want to abandon her 'big sister' but did as she was told, luckily when she was only two blocks away from her starting point she, quite literally, ran into the perfect man for the job.
"Ren-sama!" He looked up at him with big pleading eyes and he scooped her up in his arms.
"Maria-chan what's wrong?" Ren was consumed by the fact that Maria didn't squeak or smile like she usually did when she saw him.
"Onee-sama is battling it out with ruffians!" Maria was panting.
Ruffian? What the hell was that supposed to mean? Didn't matter, it couldn't be good. "Where are they?"
Maria-chan took off running to show him and Yashiro followed closely behind the two.
"Wait stop!" Kyoko cried as the boss held a metal pipe over her head. Only then did they realize that the girl was back with two men. The boss opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by a continuation that Kyoko let out, "I feel like I've seen this before, give me a minute to think about it" She paced in small circles and looked as though she was deep in thought.
"Listen girly," Crony #1 Began in a nasally voice.
"Just a minute," Kyoko waved a dismissive hand and Maria struggled not to laugh.
"Damn it," The leader lifted his pipe into the air again and swung at Kyoko's head.
"Just a minute!" Kyoko whined. She caught the pipe in her hand and crushed It under her firm grip.
The thug master released his possession of the iron rod and ran for the hills.
"Whoa," the three spectators gaped. Moving their stares back between the girl, and the casually ignored, destroyed metal pipe that lay at her feet.
A/N: Because why not.
