"Kitties never die"
Ritsuka was very late.
Soubi smoked and paced, aware of every living creature, sound, and movement in the small strip of restaurants.
Ritsuka was very, very late.
Since they started dating, if that's what one chose to call it, Ritsuka knew he preferred not be left in the dark. He peered at his phone for the twelfth time, no text, no incoming call.
The cigarette stump in his opposite hand, now burned his fingers because it was so short. He let it fall to the ground.
He hardly noticed when familiar sounding footsteps approached.
Twenty three year old Ritsuka wore stark black boots, black suit pants, and a crisp black jacket.
Wind blew charcoal hair across his feline ears, tickling, and he hastily flung it away.
Grasping Soubi's hands, he kissed his cheek.
"Sorry I took so long, the train was stopped by a car accident. Right on the tracks, can you believe it? I realized I left my charger at work only after my phone died."
Shaking his head he stepped on the remnants of Soubi's cigarette.
"I knew you'd worry, but I felt too nervous to ask anyone if I could use their phone."
Soubi curved his arm around his boyfriend's demure waist.
"I wasn't worried, kitties never die."
Perplexed and blushing, Ritsuka hastily went and opened the restaurant door.
"Let's eat."
