ch.2
Disclaimer: I still don't own Who.

She was staring at me.
"What?"
"I'm not your dad," I repeated, shrugging off the now-awkward (though not entirely unwelcome) embrace. "I'm The Professor." I grinned as I said the last bit, habitually straightening my brown suit jacket over my wrinkled t-shirt. "I'm a time traveler!"
The girl leaned in close and whispered "I know," before quickly walking away.
"H-Hey!"
I ran after her through the never ending corridors of the TARDIS, finally emerging in the kitchen after twenty minutes and several explosions.
I gasped at the girl, who was in the process of breaking the side of my the fridge.
"Don't kick," I said, worried, "or she'll get mad!"
I crossed the distance between us, examining the technology to see if the girl had dealt any serious damage. Finding none, I opened the doors and began to grab sandwich materials.
As I was examining the jam, she spoke.
"If you aren't my dad, then who ARE you?"
I sighed. She didn't listen very well, did she? I began making a meal as I repeated myself yet again. "I'm the Professor."
She glared at me, obviously not happy with my unsatisfactory answer.
"Do you have a name?" She asked, annoyed.
"No," I answered as I handed her a plate sporting a peanut butter and jam sandwich. "Do you?"
She glared again. "I'm Rin. Rin Song."
I looked at her, curious. "That's an interesting name." She ignored my hint, responding only by taking a bite out of her sandwich and muttering "Thanks."
After a few moments of awkward silence, I spoke again. "Since you have no apparent intention of talking to me, I'll tell you a bit about myself. I'm The Professor. My current height and weight are five eight and one twenty, respectively. I'm one hundred and five years old, and I have a keen love for The Beatles. I've been travelling alone for quite some time now, but-"
"Hush, you obnoxious... overly talkative..." She struggled to find more insults. "... pompous... A**!"
I blinked, my eyes wide. I was quite offended. I opened my mouth to fire back a retort-
"I-"
- And all hell broke loose.
"WHAT IS THAT?"
I ran around the console, flustered. "It's the... um, it's the cloister... bell..." I was stammering, an obvious sign that my concentration was wavering. I began frantically pushing buttons, flipping levers, and typing into keyboards as I attempted to explain.
"It's a sort of... red alert. It only sounds if we're in grave danger, and even then only if the danger relates to the destruction of time itself."
More buttons were pushed in a frenzy.
"Right now, the engines are phasing, which could blow a hole in reality about the size of..." I paused, checking a monitor before finishing. "Buckingham palace." Rin's jaw dropped as we began to take off.
"However," I added, "It should sort itself out if we dematerialize." I grinned at the gaping girl. "You might want to hold on to something."
I flipped a final lever, bracing myself as we took off, then began sprinting around again, steering the magical blue box through the time vortex and into the future of a world a lifetime away from Rin's home.
Thanks for waiting for the next update! It took me a while, but I'll update more often now that I have regular access to a computer.
In the next chapter, Rin and The Professor will embark on their first adventure!
Wait for the next chapter, and R&R!
