A.N Hello everyone I know it's been an EXTREMELY LONG time since I've updated this story. I've gone through so many up and downs with life that I ended up not having the time to write and ultimately lost the passion. But I'm coming back and I really want to thank all of you for supporting this story, especially if you've been here since the beginning, this really means the world to me. I really would love to hear your feedback to please review or send me a message. Regarding the story I've decided to take down the last two chapters. I love Loki and his character development and I didn't want to make him a villain again. I'm also planning on how to fix the Spiderman issue in this story, I'm probably going to cut the previous Spiderman chapters out. But if you guys have any suggestions please let me know! Again thank you all for reading this story I'm so proud of it, I love you all! 3
I opened my eyes and saw the familiar golden glow of the morning sun. I looked off to my side and saw the large curtains slowly moving in the breeze. My hand reaches up to my neck and I found a pulse. My hand moved to my chest and I closed my eyes, focusing on the sound of my heart beat. A tear fell down to my ear as I listened with joy, and confusion.
"Good morning Kida."
I sat up in the bed and saw Odin sitting across the room on one of the couches. He looked at me and a small smile appeared.
"It's good to see you looking well." He walked over to me and sat at the foot of the bed. "How are you feeling?"
"Confused...happy but...furious." The smile disappeared "How could you? Bringing someone back from the dead is an abomination, a violation of the universe."
"I couldn't allow you to die, not like that." He said "Not like Frigga."
"My death was a risk of my job, a risk I accepted."
"Your death is on the hands of those Avengers." He stood up and began to pace furiously. "They failed you!"
"The fault lies in the hands of my killer! Not my friends." I replied "Not my family."
I stood up and grabbed a dark blue robe to put on, I walked towards him and looked right into his eyes.
"Who are you?"
"What?" He chuckled "My dear it's me Odin."
"No you're not, Odin never bring someone back to life including his wife." I pushed him against the wall, although my magic was still gone I still had some of my old strength. "Tell me who you are right now, or I'll bash your head into the wall until your head caves in."
"Kida...darling" I felt an old chill run up my back, I stepped back as the green light shined and revealed him. "Loki?"
He looked over to me, he looked like he was waiting for me to punch him or scream at him.
"What are you waiting for?" He asked as he stepped closer with his arms out. "Have at it."
"Shut up." Those were the only words I could think of.
"Shut up Loki." I wrapped my arms around him tightly and rested my head on his shoulder. Normally, I would beat him to a pulp and find Thor for his chance but...I couldn't. I was too tired to fight him; and after all this time, after I watched him 'die' I felt happy to see him again. He wrapped his arms around me and we held each other for what felt like hours. "Why? Why did you do it?"
"I was selfish, I faked my death as a way to gain the throne."
"What did you do it Odin?" I asked as I wiped the tears away.
"I sent him to New York, I didn't harm him."
"You know I have to go back, right?" When he heard this I could see how it hurt him. "I have a son Loki, I need to go back to him."
"No you don't, he's here."
"What?!" I stepped back "Where is he?"
"He's in the garden with a midwife."
Without saying another word I bolted out the doors and ran through the halls, ignoring the glances from guards and other servants. My heart started to beat until my chest started to ache, the pain reminded me of that day. The day I died. I clung onto my chest and fell onto my knees.
"Kida!" The images flashed in my mind, the sight of Steve and my dad, Rumlow whispering to me, and James.
A hand pulled me back to reality, I looked up and saw 'Odin' next to me.
"You cannot push yourself Kida, you need to rest in order to heal."
"My baby…" I breathed out "James"
He pulled me back up to my feet, as we walked he held onto my hand and he kept one arm around me. As if I was an elderly lady with a walker. As we got closer I could hear a woman's voice and the soft mumbles of a baby. When we rounded the corner I saw a woman holding James. His blonde hair lit up in the sun, and every time he smiled I could see a little gleam in his eyes. The same gleam I saw in his father. I walked into the garden, unable to speak. The woman finally noticed me and gave me a small smile and bow.
"Lady Kida, it's so good to see your recovery."
"How is he?"
"He's wonderful my lady, a strong healthy boy." She said as she stood up. "He's been waiting for you."
"Hello James!" She handed him over to me and I could feel his small hands grip onto my robe and hair. "I missed you sweetie."
"I'll leave you be."
I sat down on the stone bench and looked down at him, he was starting to look like Steve.
"I love you James." I said softly as tears built up in my eyes. "I love you so much James."
I felt someone sit down beside me, when I turned I saw Loki.
"Someone will see you."
"I sent them away, everyone, we have the entire palace to ourselves." He said as he looked at me softly. "I'm sorry for bringing him here, I just thought you should see him when you woke up."
"Thank you." I cried "Thank you."
He wrapped one arm around me and I couldn't stop myself from leaning on his shoulder. I was brought back to life, none of my family knows I'm back, but I felt some happiness. All I needed right now was to see my baby, and to have someone with me. Loki gently rubbed my back as I looked down onto James.
"Kida let's get some breakfast you'll need some nourishment." He gently squeezed my shoulder and we started walking back to my room.
When we arrived I found the table by the balcony, ready for breakfast. I could see scrambled eggs, fruit, bacon, potatoes, and even baby food. I set James down and gave him some crushed carrots. I started eating, and soon we fell into a calm silence.
"There's still something we need to discuss." I said after I finished my plate. "I need to return to Earth immediately. I need to get back to my team, they need to know."
"You're not strong enough Kida." He said "Not yet."
"How long do I have to wait?"
"I don't know...days or maybe months."
"I don't have that time Loki." I said "I have to see them, especially my father, I can't let him suffer."
"He's doing fine."
"I know that's not true Loki, one thing you don't know about my father is that he carries every casualty on his conscious. I cannot let him carry my death now that I'm back."
"Kida if you travel through the BiFrost now the power of it will kill you." He said "I can't let you take that risk."
"I will find a way Loki, you know I will." I said "Where's Thor?"
"Oh he's off, fighting anything he can across the nine realms." He said "I don't know where he is."
Loki walked back into the room where he left Thor in the nursery. As he stood over him Loki couldn't help but shake his head.
"It's just too easy to trick you brother."
He changed back to Odin and remove the hex he put on Thor, a few seconds passed and he jumped up to his feet. Thunder rumbled in the distance as Thor frantically looked around him.
"Father what happened?" Thor asked
"I found you here, it appears you drank yourself to sleep my son."
"Where's James?" He asked as he marched over to the empty crib.
"He is being cared for now by one of the handmaidens, the same ones who took care of you and Loki." Odin said "He's in good hands."
"I must go see him." As Thor walked towards the door, Odin put his hand on his shoulder.
"No." Thor turned around, clearly confused. "I have something important I need you to do."
"What is it?"
"I need you to take Sutur's crown."
"Sutur believes he's destined to destroy Asgard and start Ragnarok." He said "I want you to take his crown so that we may prosper in peace."
"If he intends to start Ragnarok then I will stop it." He placed his hand on his father's shoulder. "Take care of James for me, for Steve."
"For Kida." Odin whispered.
Thor embraced his father for a quick moment and left, Loki changed back to himself and watched from a balcony as Thor disappeared in the BiFrost. Finally giving just a little bit more time with Kida. That was all he needed.
I'm a believer, it's a trial
Foolish and weaker, oh, oh, oh
I'd rather save an angel down
I'm a believer, it's chao
Where are our leaders? Oh, oh, oh
-Angel Down by Lady Gaga
P.S. I didn't know what song to pick but I put Angel Down because Loki basically views Kida as an angel who was struck down because the Avengers couldn't help.
