Disclaimer- I own neither One Piece or Fairy Tail.

I'M GOING TO BE WORKING MY WAY THROUGH REVISING ALL THE CHAPTERS IN THIS FAN-FICTION. This probably wont be the last time I will be going through and revising as well. Nothing to change the plot, just making it pretty.

To the people who have already read this before, I have made changes but nothing that affects the story line. Basically all I did was change up what I thought was unsatisfying to me. Enjoy.

To the people who are reading this fro the first time: Enjoy.

Luffy yelled his lungs out in victory after defeating the last opponent in the Battle Royal. A few idiots thought they could take the Mera Mera no mi and get the slip on him- even though he had already won! Obviously, he had chased them down and whooped their butts, but he was worn out; not that he really paid it any mind at all- the adrenalin had been pumping through his veins so strongly at the time he could hardly feel anything- even now. This wasn't even the worst shape he had ever been in after a battle, compared to when he fought in Impel down (partial death by poison among other things), or in Alabasta (partial death by impalement among other things), this was mere child's play. Sure practically all of his body was covered in blood and gashes, so much so that even he couldn't tell what was where from all the throbbing and the filth- but he had won the fight, he had done what he decided to do, and things were starting to wind down at last. He couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment… or wait. Swaying, he confirmed that it was indeed actually hunger that he felt a slight gurgle of agreement came from his stomach to further confirm his suspicions; but before that, a nap. He would find his crew and they would party hard afterwards, they would invite the whole town to join them as well- victory was always celebrated like that when you're pirates.

Yawning, Luffy stretched his protesting rubber body, then plopped down cross-legged; he wondered where everyone was, but did not worry too much about it. His crew was strong and they could most certainly take care of themselves as far as he knew; he felt his eyelids gradually getting heavier and heavier, drooping down lower and lower, and he yawned again- his stomach made a louder sound than last time, his hunger refusing to be ignored, it sounded alarmingly similar to an exploding volcano. Sanji would have to make him a real big meal after this. Looking at the crimson fruit in his hands-the Mera Mera no mi was a gorgeous fruit- he felt his stomach rumble once more. His own fruit had tasted disgusting, but did that mean this one did too? Ace had eaten it, that meant it couldn't taste too bad, right? Not like something bad could happen if he just took a little bite... but Nami would kill him… but he was just so hungry, but... He was captain anyways, he could eat whatever he wanted.

Huffing resolutely, Luffy brought the fruit to his mouth, teeth coming down on it, ready to break the skin and devour the insides… and was promptly kicked into the sky from behind. He had a brief flashback to one of his childhood memories, the one in which he had been unwillingly playing ball with his brothers- only he was the ball. Holding on to the fruit for dear life as he rocketed through the sky, he looked back behind him, figuring it was yet another one of the defeated foes he had bested in the coliseum… Doflamingo?! Luffy felt his eyes practically pop out of his head, what was he doing here!? Last he checked he was...somewhere that wasn't here. Still flying, he quickly passed over the ruins that once was the coliseum, Luffy moved at breakneck speeds over the island. However that didn't mean he was defenceless.

"Gomu Gomu nooo-" he pulled his arm back, aiming at a pillar right next to Doflamingo, he planned to grab onto it then using his arms ricocheting rubber band properties, fling himself at Doflamingo. He would then ram his foot into that pink feather mans stomach, teach him to interrupt Captain Luffy's eating time! Er, not eating time, snack time, it wasn't as though he would have eaten the whole fruit, just a bite only a nibble that couldn't possibly compare to that of a real meal. Also, Ace wouldn't mind and it couldn't do anything major if he did not eat the whole thing...he was just curious about what it tasted like, what it was like to eat it, how Ace had felt and what not. Just because Ace was dead and had been for the past two years, did not mean that luffy loved him any less or that he was any less important than he had been when he was still alive.

"PISTO-" Just as Luffy was completing his attack, aiming to incapacitate- Doflamingo vanished. Well, more like he teleported right in front of Luffy mid swing. Surprised and unprepared, his fist missed him- going widely to the right of him instead of doing any damage as intended. Leaving Luffy virtually defenceless for a few seconds- but that was all that was needed. Now inside of his non-existant guard Doflamingo delivered another kick to his midsection, a drop kick this time, sending Luffy plummeting downward; completely changing his trajectory as well as disorienting him… well disorienting him more. Doflamingo was standing there impossibly on thin air, his clothes ruffled, dirty feathers askew and his sunglasses cracked with bits missing from the shaded lenses; he looked as though he had just escaped from a brawl himself. His annoying smirking was the last thing Luffy saw before he crashed painfully into the ocean at high speeds, leaving tsunami sized splashes in his wake.

Feeing his limbs turn to lead as well as seeing the water turn red in his wake, his numerous open wounds stinging from the salt getting into them, Luffy barely managed to keep his grip on the Mera Mera no mi as he sank like a hammer. Feeling the pressure increasing the deeper he went like a gloved hand slowly clenching around him, Luffy wondered what was going to happen this time and if he would miss the party; everybody was going to eat his meat! Despite the fact that this enough was serious motivation, the only thing that showed for it was the measly twitch of a finger. It was getting darker and darker the farther down he went, and he felt his lungs constricting, his body screaming for air.

Feeling a shift in the ocean water Luffy felt his body start to move along with it, instead of simply going straight down- he was caught on a current! Opening his eyes wide he did his best to look around. The power of the ocean, and the effect it has on devil fruit users is at its maximum when the user is fully submerged. Even Luffy knew that much. Quite frankly Luffy couldn't hardly move a muscle no matter how much he tried. So even though he could see the dark, gaping hole resembling the entrance to the underworld sucking everything in on its powerful current he could do nothing to fight it, floating along like a Jellyfish. It had been over a minute now, and he was just out of air.

Blackness rimmed his vision, but then that could just be the dimming light this far down the sea. His body losing the battle for oxygen, forcefully exhaled, and inhaled a lungful of ocean water in a flurry of bubbles; choking, losing consciousness, Luffy felt a questionable warmth envelop his body as he felt himself descending deeper and deeper into the underwater cave. The light had all but vanished, and in the darkness it was hard to see anything other than nothing.

But then Luffy saw a light accompanying the warmth, and as soon as he noticed this, a slight tingling sensation started up in his toes and fingers. This doesn't feel like death, Luffy thought blearily, and he would know because he had been on the verge enough times to differentiate; maybe this was the final step. The final step in death that was, he didn't know what that felt like really seeing as he was still alive last he checked.

A little disappointed that his journey was likely going to end here, Luffy had no regrets, except maybe that Doflamingo had it coming and he wouldn't be the one giving his ass to him on a platter. He was satisfied that he would go like all the greats- pursuing his dream. As the tingling sensation went through his body, increasing in intensity until it felt as though there were bugs crawling underneath his skin, Luffy could have sworn he heard Ace's voice calling him a downright idiot and other varying insults. Heh, and you would think he would be nicer given the situation. A numbness had taken over with the tingling- a strange combination-and peaceful. Luffy drifted out of consciousness as he descended.

So tell me what you think in a review if you want. This was more of a Prologue of sorts.

No Flames please and thank-you.
