Chapter 2. The Burrow, Diagon Alley & Platform 9 3/4

Harry was really enjoying his stay in The Borrow. It was by far the best house he had ever been in, and everybody was very nice and talked to him a lot, Mr. Weasley, especially was very interested in muggles and often asked him questions about them.

It was dinner time and everybody was laughing and talking. At the moment, Mr. Weasley was talking about his day at work.

"That's very interesting Arthur," Mrs. Weasley said. Everybody agreed. It was silent for a while, until George got tired of the silence and began to speak about the first thing he could think of, which was, Hogwarts.

"Have you seen the school list?" George complained. "Most of them are by that wizard, Gilderoy Lockhart, how are going to afford that?"

"We will manage," Mr. Weasley answered.

"He is a great wizard," Mrs. Weasley said dreamily. "He will be an excellent teacher". Ginny nodded, obviously agreeing with her mom. The rest of them just rolled their eyes.

Then, after a while Percy spoke.

"I heard that Hogwarts accepting a group of wizards from America this year," Percy commented.

"Really?" Harry asked.

"Yes," Percy answered.

"That will be awesome," Fred said.

"Yeah! Do you think they have joke stores in America?" George asked.

"I bet they do!" Fred answered.

"Fred! George!" Mrs. Weasley scolded them. "Don't you dare to ask them to give you something and much less actually use those things at Hogwarts!"

"Mom!" Fred and George complained.

The rest of the meal passed more or less the same way, until everybody went to sleep. The next day they were going to Diagon Alley.

The next day the used the Floo powder and went to Diagon Alley, however, Harry ended up in Knockturn Alley. There he heard Draco and his father talking.

"I can't believe that they are letting those mudbloods in Hogwarts. They're not even from the United Kingdom!" Draco complained.

"I know Draco, but we mustn't complain in public," his father scolded him.

Harry was very confused, but didn't make a sound. The moment they left, he ran away, until Hagrid found him.

After Hagrid found him, they went to find the others.

Suddenly, Harry saw Professor McGonagall with a group of 6 people, there were a pretty blond girl, a dark haired girl, a dark skinned girl, a blond boy, a dark haired boy and a dark haired boy that had glasses.

"Hagrid, who are they?" Harry asked Hagrid, pointing at the group.

"Who?" Hagrid asked. He looked where Harry was pointing and nodded. "Ah, they are the new students, they are from America. They will be joining you in your grade".

"Why is Professor McGonagall with them?" Harry asked.

"They are muggleborns," Hagrid explained. "Professor McGonagall is with them to help them find their things, just like I helped you".

"All right," Harry said. "Thank you".

They continued walking until they found Hermione and her family. Then, they looked for the Weasley family. After they found the Weasley family, Hagrid left and they moved on.

"Guys," Harry told Ron and Hermione. "I saw the American students, they were 6 people, 3 girls and 3 boys."

Hermione and Ron listened to their descriptions, Harry decided to also tell them what he had heard Draco and Mr. Malfoy said in Knockturn Alley.

"He's a jerk," Ron said. "And his father too".

"I know," Hermione said. "But I can't wait to meet the American students".

"Why?" Ron asked.

"Imagine all the things they could tell us about the magic schools in America!" Hermione answered. Typical Hermione.

After that, they continued buying their things for the school year.

Outside the book store he found Professor McGonagall and the American kids.

"Well, hello Minerva," Mrs. Weasley said.

"Hello Molly," Professor McGonagall said. "It's full inside, we could barely buy the school books with all the people in here! That Gilderoy Lockhart is signing his books…"

However she couldn't finish because of Hermione's, Ginny's and Mrs. Weasley's shouts of excitement. All the boys and some of the American girls rolled their eyes.

"And who are they?" Mrs. Weasley asked Professor McGonagall.

"They are new students," Professor McGonagall answered. "They are muggleborns so I am showing them around".

"Oh, that's nice," Mrs. Weasley said.

"Well," Professor McGonagall said. "It was a pleasure Molly, Arthur, children".

After Professor McGonagall and the new students left, they entered the bookstore.

After the bookstore drama and the fight between Mr. Weasley and Mr. Malfoy, they returned to The Burrow and Harry went to sleep. It had been a really long day. He wondered if he was going to meet the American students at Hogwarts the next day.

The next day, all of them went to King's Cross Station, and when they got there they found the American's there, arguing.

"We should just ask somebody," the guy with the glasses said exasperated.

"Who?" the dark skinned girl asked angrily.

"Them!" the dark haired girl said excited, pointing at us. "We saw them at the bookstore, in Diagon Alley, remember?"

"Yeah," the dark haired guy said.

"Excuse me!" the pretty blond girl said to us. "Could you tell us how to get into the Platform 9 ¾?"

"Of course," Mrs. Weasley said. "It's very easy don't worry, you know this is Ginny's first year too," she pointed at Ginny, who smiled shyly. Harry remembered how in his first year at Hogwarts, last year, he had asked Mrs. Weasly that and how she had answered in almost the same way. "All you have to do is walk or run to the wall between Platform 9 and 10".

The Americans looked sceptical, but they did it. After them, the rest of the Weasley family passed except Ron. Ron and Harry were the only ones left, but when they tried to go through the platform, they couldn't. The platform was closed, it was too late for them to pass, so they were going to miss the train.

"What are we going to do?" Harry asked. "We won't be able to go to Hogwarts. We can't let that happen".

"Well," Ron said hesitating. "There is one way".

"What is it?" Harry asked desperately.

"We can use my father's magic car," Ron answered.

They looked at each other and they ran outside to the car, well it was going to be a ride they would never forget, that was for sure.
