AN: Hey guys! So sorry this chapter took so long to be posted...given the fact that it's actually very short. I just haven't been able to write. I don't know if it's writer's block or lack of inspiration, but this is just how this chapter turned out. I'm still working on the next chapter.
Updates will probably be a bit slow from here on out...well you could probably tell by how long it took this short little chapter to be posted...'-_-
So anyways, apparently I'm good at making and editing videos. I found a bunch of old pictures of my Dad's family on my computer and put them all together in a touching little slideshow video thing. My parents loved it so much that they decided to show everyone they knew and now I have people giving me videos and pictures to edit and put together.
I'm currently editing my Dad's twin's wedding...Well my uncle's wedding. They paid $400 to have their wedding filmed and the guy did a HORRIBLE job. I mean a HORRENDOUS job. The camera was shaky, he didn't get any good shots, he didn't use any good editing skills, and it was basically a sloppy mess. My aunt gave me the video to edit so it would be better. It's been taking up a lot of my time.
So I guess my hands are gonna be full...Hopefully I'll still have time to get the next chapter written soon.
Anywho~ Here's the chapter ^_^
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto
"Come on, Naruto-kun. We're almost there….just a little further." Hinata encouraged, supporting the bulk of Naruto's weight as they hobbled down the dirt road.
They had appeared in the forest outside of the village walls. They could have been transported into the village, but Hinata wasn't complaining. Inari had given life back to her love. She would happily endure the walk back to the village.
"Hina-chan..." Naruto gasped, breathing heavily as he gingerly held his bleeding abdomen. "I…I need to stop…"
Hinata nodded and gently helped him to the side of the road where he slowly sat down. Naruto hissed as he lent against a tree before looking up at her.
"Is it…" He took a pained breath, "Is it bad?"
Hinata bit her lip. Just because Inari had restored Naruto's soul to him, it didn't mean she had healed him. He would have died yet again if Kurama hadn't have gotten a little control over his other half. He only healed Naruto partially as his other half went wild yet again, but it was enough to keep him alive…that is if Naruto got medical attention within the next twelve hours.
Hinata knelt down and gently removed his arm from his stomach. Naruto hissed as the wound was uncovered. Hinata had to bite back the bile that threatened to come up at the sight of the open, bloody flesh. She had ripped his jacket and wrapped it tightly around the wound, but it had become soaked through with blood. She hastily untied the piece of cloth and carefully removed it from the wound. She then bandaged the wound with the rest of the jacket, tying it tightly as to keep the blood from flowing out.
Naruto watched her through half lidded eyes, gasping in pain at every movement.
"There you go, Naruto-kun. We need to hurry before it becomes infected."
Naruto sighed, letting his head fall back against the bark of the tree behind him. "I thought I died…" He whispered, looking up at her through hazy, cerulean eyes.
Hinata frowned before lightly smacking his arm. "You did. Never scare me like that again. I couldn't live if you weren't around to pester me twenty for seven."
Naruto brought a hand to his chest and made a hurt look causing Hinata to giggle.
"Your annoyance is only one of the reasons I love you so much."
Naruto frowned. "I don't know if I should take that as a compliment or an insult."
Hinata giggled. "It's a compliment. I don't think the village would even survive if you weren't around. They wouldn't know what to do if there wasn't someone constantly causing trouble for them."
Naruto gave a small, sad smile. "They wouldn't even miss me."
"Most of them probably wouldn't." Hinata nodded which caused Naruto to frown. "But I know for a fact that Tsunade-sama, Jiraiya-san, Kakashi-sensei, Sakura, and Lee would. I'm pretty sure Sasuke would even miss not having you to chase after him all the time." Naruto laughed at this and nodded. "But I would definitely miss you the most."
"You would, would you?" Naruto smirked.
Hinata smiled. "What would I do without my clumsy idiot?"
"I hope that's a compliment." Naruto pouted as Hinata stood up. He watched as she turned and started to walk away. His eyes widened. "Hey! That was a compliment, right!? Hey! Hina-chan! Hina-chan, don't leave me! Hey! Wait for me!"
Hinata sighed worriedly as she slumped in the uncomfortable hospital chair. She had brought Naruto in hours ago and he was immediately rushed into surgery by Tsunade and Sakura who were picking up files at the front desk when they first walked in. She hadn't seen or heard word of him since.
She sighed once more before looking over to the clock that hung lonely on the wall. The hand moved slowly, the second hand seeming to take hours before it completed one round. She could hear people talking around her, some sitting a few chairs away from her and some pacing the floor. Hinata noted with a hint of sadness that they wanted to be nowhere near her presence. She made them uncomfortable it seemed.
One man caught her stare and gave her a disgusted sneer before turning to his wife probably to talk about her.
Hinata looked away and to her hands. They were dirty and covered slightly in blood…not hers…but Naruto's.
She closed her eyes and clenched her fists. The image of Naruto dying before her eyes was still freshly imprinted in her mind and she knew that it would be awhile before it went away…..if it ever went away. The thought of him ever leaving her….it tore her heart. She knew she couldn't live without him. He was what she lived for.
"Hinata."
Hinata looked up at the sound of her name and saw Sakura standing in front of her, pulling off her gloves. Her eyes widened and she shot of her seat.
"Naruto-kun! Is he okay!? Is he alright!?"
Sakura laughed before placing her hands on Hinata's shoulders. "Don't worry, Hinata. Naruto's fine. We managed to close the wound and heal it. He's resting now."
"Can I see him!?"
"Sure, he's in room 206."
Hinata smiled brightly. "Arigato, Sakura-san!" She bowed before running off leaving Sakura to smile and shake her head.
Hinata rushed down the hall until she found right room.
She stopped suddenly in front of the door, hand grasping the handle. Slowly, almost tentatively, she slid the door open to reveal a small room where the love of her life slept soundly in the bed by the window.
Hinata made sure to close the door quietly behind her as to not wake him before making her way over to where he lay. She stopped at the edge of the bed before looking down at his peaceful, sleeping face. If it weren't for the steady rise and fall of his chest, it would almost appear as if he were dead. And that thought scared her.
Tears gathered in her eyes because she knew that if fate hadn't have been so kind, she wouldn't have been staring down at her love in a hospital bed….She would have been staring down at him in a coffin. The tears fell from her eyes and rolled down her face as she shakily moved her hand to cup his thankfully warm cheek. She caressed it, stroking it with her thumb as she thanked Kami for her precious person.
She didn't care as she sobbed her gratitude. Hinata leaned down and placed a trembling kiss to Naruto's forehead before leaning back to give his sleeping figure a small smile.
"I love you so much, Naruto-kun." She closed her eyes and kissed his forehead once more before sitting down in the chair beside the bed. She took ahold of his hand and swore to never let go.
She must have fallen asleep, Hinata figured as she was awoken from a small scratching noise on the window. Groaning, she raised a hand to wipe the sleep from her eyes as she arched her back in a stretch. Blearily, Hinata opened her eyes and looked towards the widow where a familiar figure was seated.
Her eyes widened in realization and she was instantly on her feet, running to throw the window open.
"Keiko!" Hinata shouted as she lifted the small kit into a fierce hug. "Oh Kei-chan!"
The fox kit yipped happily and assaulted Hinata's face with a series of sloppy licks for kisses. Hinata laughed and kissed the kit on the top of her head.
A groan caught Hinata's attention and she looked over to see Naruto shifting signaling that he was about to wake. She looked back at Keiko and grinned.
"Let's give your Daddy a surprise, kay?"
Keiko gave a yip in agreement as Hinata walked quietly to the edge of the bed and placed the fox kit on Naruto's chest.
Naruto's face scrunched up as he shifted, feeling a weight on his chest. His eyes slowly blinked open as he tried to form coherent words.
"W…Wha…?"
He looked down to see what was on his chest and was surprised when glassy blue eyes stared back at him. His eyes widened.
"Kei-chan!?"
Keiko gave a yip of agreement, recognizing his scent. She shakily jumped up his chest to put her tiny paws on his face and give his chin a sloppy lick. Naruto laughed, sitting up slightly and pulling the kit away to hold her above him.
"I'm so glad to see you girl!" He exclaimed, a bright smile on his face.
"She was at the window." Hinata spoke up, making herself noticed in the room. "I don't know how she got there though."
"She must have flown!" Naruto exclaimed, talking like one would to a baby as he rubbed noses with Keiko.
Hinata sat in the chair beside the bed and smiled. Keiko was back with them and Naruto would make a full recovery from almost dyeing from a massive wound in his abdomen. Things were slowly coming back to the way they were before Keiko fell ill and Hinata was glad. They were all alive and well. That was what mattered at the moment.
AN: Again, sorry it was so short.
Before I take my leave, I was wondering if there were any good digital artists out there who are reading this. I'm pretty good when it comes to art on paper, but not when it comes to art on a computer.
I would really like for this story to have a cool Cover image with Naruto, Hinata, Keiko, Kurama, and Kukiko together on it. That would be awesome~...
