Six Years Later
I groaned to myself as the baby monitor on my bedside table crackled to life, awaking me for the third time that night.
"Fang…" I mumbled, turning over onto my other side, "Your turn."
"I got it." he grumbled in his husky tired voice. I felt the bed rise and sink as he got up, but I was asleep again before I could hear his footsteps leaving the room.
I stumbled sleepily into the baby's room, flicking on the light and momentarily blinding myself. When I could see again, I walked over to our daughters crib and took the screaming child out of it and settling her against my side.
"Why are you being so difficult?" I muttered, bouncing her slightly. She quieted down rather quickly, but as soon as I started to put her back in her crib she started wailing again.
"All right, all right. Geez." I sat down in the rocking chair with her in my lap. She happily settled herself against my chest, and within moments was asleep.
I awoke naturally around 6 am. When I opened my eyes, Fang wasn't in bed with me. After a quick stretch, I headed down the hall and peeked into the other bedroom.
Fang was passed out in the rocking chair, with Rebel sat on his lap. She was wide awake, and giggled when she saw me, holding out her chubby arms. I smiled and picked her up, careful to avoid waking Fang.
"Come on baby girl," I whispered to her. "Breakfast time."
I padded into the small kitchen and settled her into her high chair. I could hear her gurgling and trying to play with the beams of light that danced across the kitchen as I got her breakfast ready. Just as I was giving it to her, Fang stumbled into the room, rubbing his eyes.
Instead of answering, he just wrapped an arm around my waist and kissed me. I expected it to be a quick peck, but he pulled me back in. I melted into it, wrapping my arm around his neck. After a few more moments he pulled away slightly, but kept his face inches from mine.
"What was that for?" I asked breathlessly. He shrugged.
"'Cause I love you." he said simply, kissing my cheek before moving to the stove to start making our breakfast. I smiled to myself.
This wasn't what I had imagined my life turning out to be, but now I wouldn't have it any other way.
(A/N I know, I know, long wait time, cheesy ending, short epilogue, Im sorry. Keep sending in new story ideas, but that story probably won't be up for awhile, and I probably won't be updating Rebel Love Song for a while either. I've got some personal shit going on. But don't worry, I'm not abandoning Rebel Love Song or fanfiction, I promise. It'll just take some time.
I love all of you guys. Thank you so much for your ideas and your constructive criticism and your support. Thanks for sticking with me even though I take 900 years to update. Thanks for reading my stories, even the earlier shittier ones. For those of you who read Angst Oneshots, thanks for putting up with all the teenage angst. I hope all of your lives are going well.
Until Next Fic-
