"Huh?" Lenny and Laney said in unison.

Laney and Lenny looked at each other for a second then back to Ms. Briggs.

"Ms. Briggs," Lenny started off then Fell to his knees and clasped his hands together in a begging matter. "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CHANGE MY PARTNER!" Laney nodded her head in agreement.

"No and back to your seats!" Ms. Briggs said happily. Lenny and Laney slouched back to their seats.

"Why, universe?! What did I ever do to you?!" Laney exclaimed the. banged her head on the table. Kin patted her on the back.

"Ok, class! Now listen up! I-"

"Oh shut up!" One of the teens said.

"I'm just gonna pretend I didn't here that! Ok! Now tomorrow we are going to get your 'children'. Eh? Get it? Anyways, once you get them, you'll be caring and parenting it for 3 months."

"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!" One of the teenagers shouted in rage, which was followed by other complaints.

"No I'm not kidding! You'll take care for it for 3 months! Is t that fun? Whoo!" Then the bell rang.

"Bye class! Enjoy you're break!" Ms. Briggs said cheerfully and waved the passing students goodbye.

Laney's POV

"Why? WHY?!" I yelled and banged my head again. Kin, Kon, and Corey were staring at me.

"It's ok, Laney. It's not that bad! I mean, your only parenting a human child with a Newman… for three months…" kin said slowing down his sentence and realized he wasn't making me feel any better. I looked up at him angrily.

"Sorry." He said.

"Tough break, Lanes." Core said and patted me on the shoulder and so did Kon.

This is going to be a really long three months.

No ones POV

Everyone rushed into their health class and sat at their assigned seats.

"Hello, class!" Ms Briggs said so cheerfully. Some lame hi's and Hey's came from the class.

"Alright, so today we are gonna get our children! Are you excited?!"

"No." A boy said and a fit of laughter came from the rest of the class.

"I'll pretend that didn't happen! Everyone get into the bus that is waiting for us at the front of the school. And sit with your assigned husband or wife!" Ms. Briggs said and literally skipped into the hallway.

When every teen from the health class got outside, they began to load themselves into the bus. Laney sat at the window side and Lenny plopped next to her.

"I hate this assignment." Lenny said with his eyes closed and pinching the bridge of his nose.

"No shit." Laney said sarcastically. The bus drive didn't take so long, but they finally arrived at their destination: an ugly building.

"The fuckery is this?" Laney asked as she hopped out of the bus.

"It's the place you'll meet your children!" Ms. Briggs said happily, answering Laney's question.

The class walked inside and looked around. The place looked pretty nice. Kinda like a museum. A man popped out of nowhere and began talking.

"Alright kids, you're going to get your offsprings today and you'll parent them with love and care for three months to be exact. So, your teacher already gave me the list so when I call you and your partner, I'll be telling you how to take care of the animal, give you manual of how to care for them, and you'll be needed to treat them as if it's your child. Ok, Kin and Kim…"

10 minutes later Kin and Kim came back to their seat next to Laney and Lenny with Kim holding a big blue blanket with Kin behind her holding some paper work.

"Hey, Kin! Let me see your 'child'" Laney said, emphasizing the word child.

"Sure. Kim." Kin held out his hands and arms as Kim kissed the blue bundle softly and handed Kin the blue bundle carefully.

"Here. Have a look but be quiet though. He's still sleeping." Kin said and unfolded a flap of the blanket to reveal a sleeping baby blue macaw. It had developed tiny pine feathers and still had a lot of pink skin showing, but it is clear that it is no longer blind.

"Awe!" Lenny and Laney whispered and looked at each other weirdly.

"Yeah. And we're gonna name it Blue!" Kim said cheerfully and got Blue back from Kin.

30 minutes later, Lenny and Laney's names were called up. They were the last to go.

"Hello. You are well informed of what you're going to take care of, right?" The man asked the red heads. They both nodded.

"Ok. Follow me." The three of them left the class and went down a hallway and into another room.

"I don't know about this." Lenny whispered to Laney as they followed the man.

"Me neither. I'm kinda nervous, actually."

Just then they bumped into the man who just stopped walking.

"Alright, so I'm going to get the off spring. Stay here." He disappeared into another door.

"So…" Laney started off.

"Do you think we're gonna care for it correctly?" Lenny asked.

"I don't know. Maybe-"

"Alright kids. Come inside." The man said and he walked back into the room as Lenny and Laney followed. Then they came upon a crib with a baby in it.

"Is this-"

"Yes, you both are gonna take care of this baby girl." The guy said.

"She's adorable!" Laney squealed quietly. The man picked her up in a pink blanket and handed her to Laney.

"Wow. She's really cute." Lenny said as he held the delicate child next.

"Alright, so everything that the baby needs is already shipped to your house, young lady. And you need to take extra care of this child."

"Yes, we will sir." Laney said, her eyes focused on the baby girl.

"Um, if you don't mind me asking, where did she come from?" Lenny asked the man.

"Well, about three weeks ago, I was working in late and I heard a knock on the entrance doors and I check who it was. I said sorry were closed, but I heard crying and she was in a basket on the front."

"Oh. So you don't know who the real parent is?" Laney asked. The man shook his head. After over 30 minutes discussing about the baby's needs, they got the paper work and the teens had to get back to their class in the other room.

"Hi, Kin." Laney said. As she and Lenny went to their seats.

"Hey Laney! So, what animal did you get?" Kin ask.

"Yeah, what's the animal?" Kim chimed.

"Well, it's not exactly an animal." Lenny opened the blanket a bit let the counterparts see and Kim and Kin gasped.

"A human baby girl?!" She asked surprised. Everyone else was also staring at the baby.

"Yes, she's about one in a half years old." Lenny explained and said the rest.

Pretty soon they all got on the bus and went back to school and the two red heads walked to Laney's house to figure out how to care for the girl.
