Hi, i'm ginny

i have joined fanfiction to read stories and be able to review them. i have no talent for writing stories, i have been published though, in a local homeschool newsletter. these articles that i have written are only rants- editorials. the true artists are the authors who have written works that have allowed me glimpses into their imagination, that are so real that it's as if i am no longer sitting at my desk and instead magically transported into another world. i say that a lot in my reviews, but if it happens, i can't help but express it. it amazes me every time!

i want to thank all of the authors who have shared their talent and their imaginations.

favorite fandoms: 'rurouni kenshin', 'inuyasha', and 'labyrinth'.

check out my artwork 'inuyasha', 'rurouni kenshin', 'yu yu hakusho' and original. just click my homepage or go to:

one of the reasons why i don't like how the anime dub translators used the blanket term 'demon' (in japanese 'akuma' by the commonly held 'western definition) for the terms: 'youkai', 'mononoke', 'oni', 'bakemono' etc (the original japanese never uses the term 'akuma'). that's like using the blanket term 'demon' when one is speaking/writing of fae (fairies), elves, orcs, ogres, genies, dwarfs, etc. maintaining the original japanese terms would have given a greater depth and understanding to such anime as 'yu yu hakusho', 'inuyasha' and others that include these mythological creatures-- instead translators have perpetuated a misunderstanding as to the nature of these beings.
this makes no sense to me --it would make as much sense as using the blanket term 'demon' for all the creatures in 'lord of the rings', 'labyrinth' or any other fantasy story.

if you're writing a pregnancy-labor story please don't write the midwife/doctor/whatever tell the mother when to push. when a woman is in labor, the contractions come and the cervix dilates, the body itself will cause the urge to push so strong that no one has to tell her that she's got to push. i hated watching that in the television series 'midwives' and reading it in stories. the only thing is that if there is something wrong like if the baby is breech (baby isn't coming out head first) with complications, the attending person might tell the mother not to push... that is a very difficult thing, trying not to push when your body's urge to push is so great. this is true especially in natural childbirth unless the mother is confused, exhausted, numb or experiencing some rare complication and can't feel the urge to push (or in modern times when the mother is numbed by epidural, then she'll have to be coached to push).

there are at least 19 plus different words in japanese that mean 'sit'. there is only one specific word that is a dog command and it is:

osuwari - (n,vs) (1) (chn) sit down; sit up; (2) Sit! (to a dog)

according to jeffery's japanes-english dictionary server (a great resource, google it and bookmark it ;)
