ABOUT MONK NOT JUNK
Hello readers! My name is Janine.
The television program Monk was one of the most creative and enjoyable shows ever produced. The characters created by Andy Breckman and his team will stand out forever as some of the most endearing in television history; and, when the show ended it held the title of having the most watch TV episode in Cable television history. I did not discover the show until 2019, but once I did, I was hooked. I faithfully binge-watched the Monk marathons on Hallmark at the time and truly grew to love the characters and the acting was incredible. One element, however, left me dissatisfied and that was Monk's happy ending. The way the show ended, Monk exchanged one unhealthy obsession for another and one that would ultimately fade away as life got in the way. The show coupled everyone in the core four but Monk - and sent the message that Monk would ultimately never find romantic love again - which is not what Trudy would have wanted, nor was it what we as viewers necessarily would have wanted (at least many of us).
Now, Monk could not be coupled with just anyone. In the view of many of us there was one woman who had been in his life, who loved him unconditionally (and I believe romantically for a very long time - though she never felt she had a chance due to Trudy), who was by him through good times and bad, and who we believe belonged with him for always and that is Natalie. But, Breckman and his team inferred she ended up with a friend of her late husband's and Monk ended up alone. That's what spurred me to write fanfiction.
Prior to my May 2019 Mr. Monk Takes the Next Step, I had never a short story or any fiction more than a couple of pages (essays in college). As of this writing in April 2021, I have written 15 stories for Monk (some with co-author/collaborator) and one million words of Monk fanfiction under this user name and my two collaborative efforts 2Souls1Flame and AfterTheEnd.
I encourage you to read and review each of the stories starting with Season 9-1. You'll probably see an evolution in my writing during this time as I've gained more experience in the genre. Please forgive any spelling/grammar errors you find. I try not to have them but I know they are there and would seek out an editor if I were ever going to print (which I can't do with these stories as I do not own the characters. They are Mr. Breckman's alone and I'm just grateful to be able to work with such a solid base).

Mr. Monk Buys a Watch and Mr. Monk and the Two Trials were written in 2019 and 2020 and were some of the most enjoyable and dramatic pieces I've worked on. Christina is a great storyteller and working with her really helped me to grow as an author.
