Hello? Is this thing on?
Well, um, something about me...
I began reading comics when I was nine years old. I bought a copy of The Amazing Spider-Man #194 off the rack at 7-11. Spider-Man has been my favorite superhero ever since.
I watched the 1970s TV series, because in those days superhero genre entertainment was in short supply and we took what we could get. I took the day off work when the first Tobey McGuire movie came out, and I saw it every week it was out to make sure the studios knew that was the kind of movie I wanted to see. I revel in the grand experience that is the MCU, and the Marvel/Netflix shows, and all of the other good and great movies and shows made possible by emerging technology and box office results. I saw comic book fandom go from a secret that could destroy a teen’s social standing to a topic of open and animated discussion in every venue.
I am by no means a comic book scholar. I haven’t read everything, I haven’t liked everything I’ve read, and I probably don’t remember half of what I’ve liked. I’ll do my best to respect the characters and world(s) I use.
BTW, I own nothing. All previously existing characters, settings, events, and so forth are the intellectual property of their originators/owners/licensees per US and international law. I do not profit from use of those intellectual properties. Please don’t sue me.
I write because I read. Some of the stories I want to read don’t exist. Rather than wait and hope, or plead with others to do what I want (instead of what they want)... “Fine. I’ll do it myself.”
I do not write to “fix” anything, nor to “do it right.” I write to explore possibilities, expand plot points or ideas, and walk down alternative pathways. My ideas aren’t meant to be a better alternative, just an alternative. I hope you enjoy them.
If it isn’t already obvious, I am new at this. Constructive criticism is welcome — helping me write better benefits all of us.
Posts will be sporadic at best.

Finally worked up the nerve to drop Chapter 1 of “NYCD - New York City Defenders”.
June 19, 2019
Thanks to Speed Reader, who gave me my first review ever! (Well, it’s a big deal for me.)
I hope I didn’t foul up the story’s location. I thought I might be in the wrong category, but there is no ”Spider-Man movie” category (other than ”Into the Spider-Verse”, which is brilliant, but not the setting of NYCD). MCU Spider-Man (and previous movies) fall under ”Avengers”. I’d make my story an ”MCU Defenders Crossover” if I could, because I mean to refer to some other characters from non-Avengers movies and television.
Hopefully, I got everything set back to the original settings. I should probably mark the story ”AU” as well...

Just posted the last of the prepared content in NYCD. Time to start writing again.

Sorry for the recent lack of updates, and possibly the future lack of updates as I wrestle with my feelings about today’s developments. Damn Sony, Disney, and the high horses they rode in on!

Wow. Sorry again. Sometimes life punches you right in the gut, and just keeps punching. It’s not finished yet, but I’m slowly coming to some kind of equilibrium. I hope to resume posting soon.

Not enough wows in the world. So many punches, and no equilibrium to be had. At least I’m posting again. Now I have two continuing stories to work on. Sporadically.
I will refrain from commenting on the state of the world right now. I can’t imagine that anyone is interested in what I have to say on such important matters, nor that anything I have to say would change anyone’s mind about anything. Just be safe, stay well, be as kind as you can, and if you are hurting don’t try to brave it out on your own.
