Note: I have another profile on this site, with more Zutara AU action (of the incredibly cliched High School variety). Check out my other FFN identity:Doily
Brief Author Bio:
Oh my god, I'm a college graduate. Watch as I gracelessly stumble into the workforce, trip into an apartment, and attempt to amass a creative writing portfolio for my grad school pipe dream.
Update: 1/19/2012-
Welp. Hey there. New year. Here's the thing, not long after my last update, I got hired as a temp, full-time and kept my part-time retail gig on the side. I ended up working anywhere from 40-55 hours a week, which was rather draining on the creative juices.
The temp job ends on Jan 31st, but hopefully I will be transitioning into a new, permanent position with the same company (I've been told I'm not allowed to leave because I'm just so extremely awesome). With that pseudo-promotion (which is ultra glamorous and in a call center), I will be able to quit the retail thing and free up mucho timero. -Not making any promises about update schedules though.
I have been working on everything. I swear. Just... slowly. I'm hoping that when I'm down to one job (that doesn't have an expiration date), I'll be a lot less stressed and strapped for time (and cash - hurray for pay increase!).
TNG - I've been doing some re-evaluation on an aspect of the plot, which accounts for majority of the delay within the chapter. Once I get that ironed out, chapter six will be eighty-percent complete, just missing a rousing little ending (to the chapter, not the fic).
Pragmatic - I'm still editing the stuffing out of this. It's very, very dense... But, as I said, still plugging away!

*NOTE for Pragmatic: No progress was actually made on my editing campaign... yet. Just after my last little edit note, I had a heap of stress dumped on me for a couple weeks, then an operation -writing on strong medication? Harder than it looks.
I have been writing a lot recently - just not for Prag. But that's still good because the more I write, the more I want to write! And I haven't felt this writerly in years (thanks for that, college). So, while I have no ETA, please understand that I am working, and it's only a matter of time before I pick this up again. I will keep you posted.

*(Long) NOTE for The Name Game:
Um. Well, I've been working on this with unbounded fury. I have ideas running all over my mind for what to do with it. I'm not as into the fandom as I was when I started, nor am I in the same place (four years will do that), but for some reason, I'm back at it. I've gone back and heavily edited the first four chapters, and the fifth chapter is in the middle of a COMPLETE over-haul. I've added a couple minor characters (OC's who will be of next to no importance), more comedy, and more logic (like how for some reason, Lydia wasn't starving after her day-long nap, or how no one ever calls her, or how she might want another shower...).
I've also more or less decided that this fic is taking place in 1995- which means that most references to fashion will be vague as I only turned seven in '95 and (thankfully) have very few memories of the popular styles outside of my much loved Pocahontas dress. Oh, and Lydia has no cell phone because, if I recall correctly, back then only obnoxious businessmen carried them and they were roughly the size of pigeons. (If you now have a mental image of a 90's businessman holding a pigeon to his ear, you're welcome.)
The reason I so abruptly abandoned this fic was probably due to a close friend's attempted suicide (said friend is still alive and holding it together), which occurred only a few days before I'd posted the original version of Chapter Five... Of course, that was really just the icing on the cake of a very, very terrible and traumatic freshman year of college, during which I suffered near debilitating depression, insomnia, and social anxiety.
I'm over the worst of it now, though (it was a long and grueling process; I'll spare you the details)- perhaps that's why I've been able to return?
Very-Extremely-Unlikely Future Fics
Any notes and/or work on these ideas were lost on my old laptop.
While You Were Sleeping (Corny-ass title subject to change and ridicule.)
Fandom: Naruto
Genre: Romance/Drama/Humor/ and a teeny-tiny dash of sci-fi
Rating: Probably T (M if I'm feeling saucy)
Pairing: Kaka/Saku mainly
Brief Summary:
It was a precarious situation to be sure; after all, a lot had changed in the past eight years... Still, he could try and make the best of it. Granted, his apartment was gone and his worldly possessions had been given away (including the beloved Mr. Ukki), but he could cope, right? ...No matter, Kakashi has other things to occupy his time with, like regaining his strength under the watchful (if slightly unbalanced) eye of his former student, Haruno Sakura, acquainting himself to the changes in Konoha, and... and... wait, wait a second... they gave away his Icha Icha collection? OH, HELL NO!
Gray Area
Fandom: Avatar: The Last Airbender
Genre: Drama/Romance
Rating: T-M (For runaway brides, unwed mothers, and, oh, some Aangst for good measure.)
Pairing: Guess.
Brief Summary:
It's been four years since the defeat of the Fire Lord and everything is perfect. Sokka and Suki have settled into married life on Kyoshi Island, Toph works as an adviser and sparring partner for her unofficially adopted big-brother, Zuko, who is engaged to Mai and set to marry in only a few short weeks, and Aang and Katara are settled into a comfortable, if systematic, lifestyle in the Southern Water Tribe. Life is exactly what they hoped for during the war, but a lot can change in four years, even if certain people are unwilling to accept, or admit it. Things are about to get a little shaken up as Katara and Mai decide to challenge the status quo. A little sin and rebellion every now and then is good for the soul.
