There are many different factors that lead to the construction of a person's 'ego'. Chief among these are the experiences we accrue. As one filters reality through the lens of our senses, we build habits, attain biases and discover new facets of ourselves. This amalgamation of thoughts, memories and experience culminates into what makes you 'you'.
This trainwreck of a monologue pretty much boils down to "You are what you eat". How one views the world, how one grows and develops their thoughts are all shaped by our environment.
So what does that make me? He who has emersed himself in the sludge that is fanfiction during the critical moments of his adolescence?
Fanfiction is both a curse and a blessing, like all things in life it is a muddled shade of gray. It proves as an excellent hole to withdraw into from reality. But I can only run away for so long...
