About me:

I like reading fanfiction, working out and hiking. Recently, I've found out that writing fanfiction is just as fun as reading it. And no, I do not take commissions. I have too many ideas and too little time to write them out.

DISCORD

discord (dot) gg/ dgj93pNeAD- my Discord server.

I am also on other platforms under the same pen name, and you can find my relevant stuff on linktr.

Dislikes:

-Slash for a main pairing - not my thing. I've tried reading it, but it just ruins the FF for me. I have nothing against gay people, and everyone is free to choose their sexuality.

-Needless character bashing. Flawed characters are expected, but doubling down on it just makes most characters feel one-dimensional or cartoonish. In fact, I like flawed characters a lot, it makes everything more grounded.

HP

-Fem Harry - I never understood that concept, especially since you can simply add a female OC sibling/twin to Harry.

-Spineless HP - Harry goes through many things, and he remains quite spineless almost all the way throughout. The things that Harry went through should either break him completely or make him grow a spine. Almost without exceptions, authority figures and the muggle and magical government have failed HP, yet he still believes/looks up to them, expecting to help in an hour of need.

-Harry/Hermione - There are a ton of these already written, and you can find plenty of interesting and decent ones, but that pairing has lost its lustre after reading it a few times too many. Realistically, I don't think their personalities match very well, and even if they got together, there would be a high chance for them to break up sooner or later (something that is rarely explored in FF, if at all).

-Harry/Ginny - Even in canon, that pairing always felt off for me. Dating shortly? Sure. But I never saw Harry and Ginny actually marrying happily. Ginny felt like a vapid fangirl and was useless, and then suddenly, she became a hyper-competent, cool Mery Sue type of character.

-Harry/Cho - Just no

ASOIAF/GoT

-Uplifts - Most of them make no sense. Inventing gunpowder and making functional guns? You're more likely to blow yourself up or simply become bankrupt. And if you don't, chances are you're quickly going to make a deadly amount of enemies before you even succeed. Why would your average person know how to make even remotely workable printing press? Even if he succeeds, does he know a workable recipe for mass-producing paper? How about the materials? And who is going to buy his books when the only people who read his books when illiteracy is 99%? Or inventing a slew of things and suddenly cramming centuries of technological development derived from the competition of thousands of people. Sure, uplifting one or two simple aspects at which the MC is good, but beyond that, it's lame/stupid, especially when bum-rushed at record speeds.

-Canals - I love the concept of canals, but if you look at, for example, the Panama Canal, it took nearly 35 years to construct it, tens of thousands of people and thousands of deaths. And they used very advanced technology for the time (1881-1914). This canal is far shorter than the generally proposed/projected westerosi canals.

-I really dislike how Baelish can fast travel and teleport an army across vast distances.

-Catelyn Tully Stark bashing - The older I get, the less I dislike her as a character. And her motivations are understandable - she is not one-dimensional by a long shot, and bashing does her actual character a great disservice. She has layers and nuances; once you put yourself in her shoes, she's far more likeable. It helps that in the books, she's younger and far prettier.

-What I really hate is that the last three seasons of GoT butchered almost all of the characterization. Some of the plots had holes so big that a whole dragon could fall through them.

-Jon Snow/Arianne Martell - Arianne Martell reminds me of Cersei a bit too much. She does have a shitty father and a living but absent mother, but the point still stands. She's also seven years older than him, and she was already fucking around Dorne when he was about ten years old or so.

-Jon Snow/Daenerys Targaryen - This has been milked too much, and I find it unlikely in a reasonable setting. Daenerys grows into her entitlement and is high on power and plot armour. Jon Snow, in the books, is very cunning and observant and not one for mushy romance or anything.

Likes:

-The AU concept. Both HP and the ASOIAF universe have big worlds you can play with. Especially since the worlds are both described with broad strokes, and you only have good, solid information about what generally happens during the canon. This gives you a very broad space to write in. SI's, in the rare cases they're written well, are spectacular.

-Exploration of magic in ASOIAF/GOT. G.R.R.M only wrote about magic very indirectly, so there is a broad space in which an author can use his creative juices to work out a magic system or even use the vague hints of the current one to great effect. Even if you don't explore, its vagueness easily lends itself towards different possibilities. ASOIAF is a high fantasy world by almost every definition, and it's a shame magic is scarcely presented.

-Non-canon pairings, in both HP and ASOIAF/GOT.

The Dragonwolf(Complete):

My very first fic, a bastardised hodgepodge of HP, ASOIAF, and GOT! Old/Jaded Harry merged into post-betrayal Jon Snow! (A miracle if I've ever done one!)

I have many regrets and things I want to do differently in hindsight, but I do like how it ended up overall. Currently under rewrite (3/4ths finished!)

I've plans to continue some secondary storylines in the epilogue, but it's on the back burner (no priority or set schedule)!

Shrouded Destiny(In Progress):

ASOIAF Time travel. The Battle for the Dawn is won, but everyone Bran knew was dead, so he throws a tantrum of epic proportions and drags Bloodraven into tossing Jon back into the past by sacrificing themselves. Messing with time makes ripples in the timeline, and some things are not the same.

Schedule: A chapter every Sunday!

Convergence of Fates(In Progress):

Time travel again, but this time in HP. Harry is a bit more hard-working and studious and gets hit by a fiendfyre instead of a killing curse when he decides to go out with a bang. He wakes up the day he receives his Hogwarts letter, but once again, things seem to be different. AU

Schedule: A chapter once every 2 Thursdays.
