I recently did some art for the Stirring. If you want to check it out search The Stirring on A03, it's posted on the first chapter. I'd love it if you left me a comment telling me what you think of it!

I also have a new story "On The Other Side" which is a war fic based on an OC that gets caught by Death Eaters after Dumbledore has been killed. Thanks to the people following so far, it really give me motivation to continue with it.

I hear rumours that fanfiction.net might stop working soon. If that ever happens you will be able to find my stories on A03, but for the moment fanfiction.net is my main platform.

Update Info for The Stirring!

Friday 11/11/2022

I made most of my deadlines in the end last week so I'm happy :)

I'm going to spend this weekend writing and walking my dog who was sick for a while but is now on the mend :) However, I think it will probably be at least 2 weeks until another update. (I know, I know, but I think it's better to be honest and realistic about updates, I'm aiming for much much sooner but I always aim for sooner hahahaha...)

To the reviewer who asked if it was too soon to ask for more... it is never too soon to ask for more, but I'm so sorry with my writing speed it definitely is too early to get some more... but I'm working on it ;)

No immediate news on updates but I've gotten the rest of the story mapped out and some new fun stuff I'm going to try to squeeze in as well. Also I've two more fics on top of "On The Other Side" I'd really love to write so it's motivating me to finish the Stirring...

Hi!

I'm sure at this point you'd prefer I spend less time updating here and more time on The Stirring... but I'm working on it haha. I'm actually writing the Christmassy scenes now, and it's a happy coincidence that after writing in real life for like six years and getting through just a couple of months of Róisín's life that her Christmas is actually going to come close to ours...

I've noticed some functions on fanfiction.net have stopped working, so I'm a little worried this site is going to close down soon. If so you can find me on A03. I also might start a wattpad, just because I think it's cute that people can leave comments throughout chapters. Let me know in reviews if anyone has experience with wattpad and would like to give me some tips :)

P.S I love all your reviews so much that I save them in a doc in case this site does go under.

To Louise: Well I'm glad there's someone other than myself incessantly checking the Stirring for reviews :D

I started my Wattpad (probably an "exercise in procrastination" which is what one of my lecturers euphemistically calls anything he considers a waste of time) Anyway, you'll find me with the same pen name and title the Stirring, but it's rated mature so I think you need an account to find it, just in case any particularly kind people want to pop over and give me a "vote" or a "comment" (These concepts are new to me...)

Ok, so the next chapter is written, it's short, and is basically the start of what was supposed to be chapter 40, which just kept growing. Anyway... I have a feeling that the next chapter (41 not 40) is going to be one of those that strangely (perhaps randomly?) has a lot more views than the rest... like "Snape's Chambers Pt 2" and "Falling"... so strange :P

Ok. I am so sorry. I could tell you excuses, like I got Covid, and spent a week shivering in bed, or that I have a massive deadline tomorrow that I'm not going to make and it's going to lead to me standing in front of my superiors making more excuses... but that's not what you want to hear. You want results. Which is also what said superiors are going to say. (Jk it'll be fine just embarrassing).

At least I know now that if I ever go missing you guys will be the first to notice. It's a pity I use a pseudonym and therefore you'd have no way of alerting the authorities...

I would like to send my condolences to the guest who perished, unfortunately since you are not logged in yours will be an unmarked grave. Also to the person who doesn't know how it feels to be alive since nov 4... again I'm so sorry, hopefully I will be able to resuscitate you soon with a dose of well, not perfect hot and steamy sex because I aim for realism (apart from the outrageously contrived plot).

If I say an update date and don't meet it will everyone be even more frustrated? Or is that not even possible at this stage? Anyway I will aim for Christmas, a little gift to you all! (If you don't celebrate the 25th maybe an early New Years gift?)

Am I allowed join the support group? I'm also dying for this story to be updated even if it is entirely under my control XD

When I started posting The Stirring years ago I was lucky to get a new review once a week but I still kept hoping and checking multiple times a day. Someone wondered what my face is like seeing all your reviews and it's probably shocked-but-incredibly-happy pikachu. My partner reads them aloud to me while we drink coffee and I squeal and laugh so much that we have had to stop doing it in public.

Hearing about your favourite parts is so inspiring 3. Especially because the moments you guys like are my favourite ones too.

I'm a huge fan of Quarantine Blues who just published a short fic called the Goldfinch about Snape during the first wizarding war. I love it so much it's now my head canon for the character during that time. Check it out if you are looking for something to read. Her writing is insane.

She also kindly suggested moving the support group to a discord in the comments, but I don't get notifications for reviews (because then I would squeal with delight in public which could lead to questions) so feel free to keep them in the reviews if that suits you guys! I'm going to save them all for future motivation in case fanfiction.net goes down. (FIngers crossed it doesn't).

Ok honesty time: I am insanely busy until the 23rd of January. I want to update soon, especially because the next chapters are basically complete, but if nothing happens before then don't panic, the update is coming. Like winter. Or something else inevitable like comments asking for updates. (I'm messing I love them all so much).

I got a bluetooth keyboard for Christmas which means I can now write in bed. This is good news for you guys because I spend a lot of time in bed.

Famously, the fic authors with the best prose are the ones who have English as a second language and comment about how their English isn’t good enough. So I’d say go for it!

My partner reads aloud the comments to me before I read them for the craic (Irish for fun) and his verbal take on your last one was spectacular so thank you! I loved your review because this fic is definitely all about power to me. I should note that although Róisín thinks Snape is cruel/ can be cruel (she’s witnessed his treatment of students for six years), and as a muggle-born she is naturally wary of the Head of Slytherin, at this point she thinks that he joined the Death Eaters originally as a spy for Dumbledore... so yeah.

Hey

So I'm really sorry... life just kinda hit me for a while. For two months every hour of every day had to be mapped out and I still didn't meet all my deadlines. I really wanted to post here on my profile earlier but just felt so guilty. I get frustrated when the fics I'm reading aren't being updated so I know how you guys feel. I really care about The Stirring and don't ever see myself abandoning it, but sometimes real life is just unavoidable. Anyway my summer is relatively chill so I'm really hoping to get a good few chapters out over the next couple of months. There is one scene I've written about six chapters ahead and it is burning up my google docs because I love it so much haha and want to share it with you guys 3
