Hey, RobotInTheRoom putting up a profile in case authors are interested in their reviewers!
Stats: Female, age 30 (!) from United States (Philadelphia)
My anime obsession started back in the 80's with Mazinger Z (called Tranzor Z on TV back then!) ans hasn't really ever stopped. All time favs include Dragonball and Dragonball Z, Gundam Wing, Samurai Champloo, Samurai 7, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Escaflowne, Evangelion, ONE PIECE!!!!, Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach and D GrayMan (although I am not loving much of the new stuff for either of these...), Clannad (you wanna bawl your eyes out? watch the afterstory), Durara, Baccano, Eden of East, Casshern...list is growing...
I very rarely watch an anime without reading the manga as well, usually trying to get all the way through so it takes me awhile to get into new things. I'm talking about you SoulEater! I will get past chapter 4!!
My current obsession seems to be One Piece, can't get enough of those darn Kaizoku.
I like Yaoi, also like hetero pairings as well, as long as the story is good. I'm a sucker for angst and drama, but a good humor story will make my day! Fav pairings are Luffy/Zoro, Marco/Ace, Ichigo/Urahara, Ichigo/Shinji, Ed/Mustang, Allen/Kanda, Kanda/Lavi. Yea I guess I like Yaoi a little more then I thought!
I am a scientist by nature and profession (dual degrees in chemistry and nursing, and I work as an RN in a surgical ICU) and therefore have little confidence in my own creative writing ability. I write a little mostly for myself (my husband just doesn't get anime, if I were to write about football or World War II...) and maybe if I grow a pair I will post something, but until then I will happily review what I read! I feel obligated to review the authors I appreciate, since they put in a lot of hard work and I'm not paying anything, it's the least I can do!!
My life outside of anime and working night shift includes my husband and two dogs, cooking, gardening, Tai Chi, fighting over the X-Box controller, reading classic English literature (in an attempt to appear more worldly) in addition to Lord of the Rings (over and over again) and other randomness (World War Z, Chuck Palahniuk, Harry Potter, Richard Matheson). Don't watch too much regular, non-animated TV, but I like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Fringe, Lost, Dexter, V, Firefly, Start Trek, South Park, and True Blood (Never liked vampires before this show, still don't really like any other vamps, sorry Ed and Bella). I like singer-songwriters and classic rock, but work out to J-Pop (yea I don't know). And although I love the places I've traveled (Hawaii and Japan I could live in for awhile, New Zealand you are next to visit on my list) I love Philly and wouldn't know what to do with myself anywhere else. I mean, I only work out because I eat a soft pretzel almost every damn day.
I have a livejournal account I don't really know how to operate, but here it is: .
So um yea, that's me, if anybody ever reads this. I like to read the authors I like's profiles, and thought maybe the quirk extended backwards. Peace!
