I'm a thirty-something mom of two and should really have a better hobby than reading fan fiction all day (and night) long. But at least hubby also gets to reap the benefits, if you know what I mean!
One of the funniest things I found with the Twilight books is that I have lived in many of the mentioned locales: Chicago; Washington state (we lived in Olympia and even celebrated our first wedding anniversary with a trip to the Hoh rain forest and a picnic at La Push beach, but that was over 10 years ago and way before Twilight came on the scene. There was absolutely no reason to visit Forks.); and currently live in the Dartmouth area (often take the kids to run around on the Dartmouth green). Never been to Alaska or Phoenix, though.
And can I just say that I love adorkable Rob more than moody Edward? But I would never kick either out to the curb! Sigh, my little almost-cougar heart is all a-pitter-patter! or, as one of my favorite FF authors would say, Puma Powers Unite!
In addition to Twilight, I am also completely addicted to the Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning (Darkfever, Bloodfever, Faefever, Dreamfever, Shadowfever). If you have never read them, please RUN and get them NOW! I would even say they are better than Twilight, and I am a die-hard Twi-hard. I am not a Moning Maniac yet, but give me time. Ooh, if you combined Edward Cullen with Jericho Barrons, I think I would spontaneously combust. Mmm! Yeah, baby!

JANUARY 2012 UPDATE:
My faithful, wonderful readers, you all know that I am a slacker when it comes to writing. Well, I'm here to tell you that I am on temporary hiatus, but I WILL finish Model Student eventually.
I have the opportunity to help my friend edit and proofread her original story for publication, so I am focusing my energy on that. I heartily recommend it, if you would like a good read to tide you over!
It is the CAGED series by Amber Lynn Natusch, and Book 1 was just published on amazon 2 weeks ago and is ranking pretty high on the fantasy charts still (#49, last I checked!).
Book 2, Haunted, is expected to have a February 2012 pub date, so I have to get my ass in gear and proofread! Amber has planned it out as a 5-book series, and I have to divulge that I just finished reading Book 4 tonight after abandoning the kids and hubby to my bedroom. I haven't done that with a series since Twilight, but the Caged series is even BETTER! It is NOT Young-Adult, meaning it has sex and bad words, and badass characters and huge plot twists and turns, and I can't say anymore unless I spill the beans and then Amber will kill me. And I can't let that happen because I need to read Book 5! Ugh! I hate waiting, but I have to because she hasn't finished writing that one yet.
Anyways, to recap, I have put my own writing on hold for a bit. My goal is to help Amber get her 5 books published (or at least proofread) and then plot out the rest of my storyline for MS so I don't get into such mind-blocking stalemates.
Feel free to message me your disgust or encouragement. I'll accept both!
