A Look into My Mind
You somehow find yourself in an odd universe, filled with supposed copies of one girl, the only difference being that they wore different clothes. The girl had brown hair in a short bob haircut, blue eyes, and acted differently depending on what clothes she was wearing.
One of the girls, this one wearing a brown-orange, long, wool turtleneck, black leggings, and black knee-high boots, walks up to you. This one had, to put it bluntly, ‘Nerd glasses,’ on her face, thick-rimmed and round.
“What brings you here?” asked the girl in a monotonous voice, “Nobody but us and Her have ever been in here,”
You blink confusedly and ask her who in the world she is.
“You probably know Her as ‘SweetestSong23’ or ‘Athena,’ though due to the fact that we are all Her, you may refer to me as ‘Intellect’ ‘Intelligence’ ‘Knowledge’ or ‘Rowena’,” the girl replied with no emotion, pushing her spectacles up her slightly pointed nose.
You, at the beginning, think that she misheard and was explaining who She was, but knew by the end that she wasn’t. You ask Intellect where you are.
“Didn’t you know?” Rowena asked, still holding no emotion. The only thing that revealed her statement to be a question was the fact that it was followed by another. “You didn’t know that you were in the dreaded mind of SweetestSong23? Her mind is a dangerous place; be warned. In here there are monsters, some too dangerous for even Irrationality to dare take on. You don’t want to mess with the Furies; though they are trapped in a cell, they still have their ‘best friends’ Mind Game and Sadism to take care of you,”
You blink and ask Knowledge who she is talking about, not even registering that your grammar is affected horribly by your shock.
Rowena winces, as though your grammar physically hurt her. “If you are speaking to me and expect me to reply, at least use proper grammar,” she said painfully, massaging her ears as though they physically hurt.
You apologize and use correct grammar this time. You notice that the large, open room has chrome almost everything; walls, floor, and even a little portal-like contraption that the copies were constantly walking into and out of.
“The Furies are those Emoticlones in that cell over there,” Intellect said emotionlessly, inclining her head to a cell with four ‘Emoticlones’ trapped in it. Two other Emotipeople were standing outside of the cell. “Outside of the cell are Mind Game and Sadism. They hardly ever leave the Furies.”
You don’t know why, but the Furies looked like an unpleasant bunch. One, wearing a red shirt with slashes on the shoulders and black skinny jeans, was glaring with Hatred at anything that dared meet her eyes, and wore her hair rather messily, as though she had never brushed it. Another, who wore a black leather jacket over a white shirt splattered all over with what looked horribly like blood and an equally splattered apron over black jeans, was Maliciously torturing a mouse she had somehow caught. The other, wearing a black T-shirt with a white scull-and-crossbones on it and a scull hairclip pulling her impossible bangs out of her eyes, was plotting Angrily with the last, who wore a Cunning smirk and wore a neat, black, lawyer-like pencil-skirt and jacket over a white ruffled blouse.
In front of the cage was a girl in a strapless mini-dress with an optical illusion design and flats with the same design. Beside her was a Sadistic-looking girl wearing all pink with multiple ribbons and bows on her skirt outfit and in her hair.
“The one with the mouse is Malice,” Intelligence said tonelessly, a tone that you would associate with reading the dictionary aloud. “Red shirt is Hatred; she hates everything, even the Harry Potter books. The lawyer is Cunning; she plans their escape even though she’s technically not a Fury. Helping Cunning plot is Anger; she just wants to get out and release her anger. Mini-dress is Mind Game. Pinky is Sadism, but don’t let the pink fool you; she’ll torture anyone from a newborn kitten to a Sumo wrestler,”
You incredulously ask why Cunning is in with the Furies when Athena obviously knows that Cunning is helping the Furies escape.
Knowledge smirks; it’s the first emotion that she’s ever shown since you’ve seen her. She quickly hides it. “Athena knows that the Furies will escape Her eventually; taking away Cunning would just delay it. Everyone has been slowly shaving away the sweetness for years; She just needs the final blow to crack open the cherry pit to reveal the Poison. All of us Emoticlones know that it will happen except Innocence; we don’t want Innocence to disappear,”
“Why are you telling me all of this?” you ask curiously; after all, you’ve only just met her—or would you say Her, meaning Athena?
Rowena openly grins now, not bothering to hide her amusement. “Because She will most likely never meet you in person, so you can’t send Her to a Psychiatrist. Athena doesn’t want to be seen as crazy by those she knows personally.” Intellect decided to change the subject. “Come, I’ll show you around,” she said, devoid of emotion yet again.
You soon come across a girl wearing a pink princess dress (puffy sleeves, poufy skirt and all), a pink princess hat, and a dreamy expression sitting on the floor, holding a wand that sparkles continued to come out of the top of.
“This is Fantasy,” Knowledge said before kneeling down to speak to said girl. “Hello, Fantasy. How’s it been?”
“Oh, hello, Rowena,” Fantasy smiled dreamily, reminding you rather strongly of a certain blonde Lovegood girl. “I’m well. Have you seen any faeries, fairies, or fey recently?”
You immediately say that faeries, fairies, and fey are all the same thing and none exist; it was simply impossible.
“How do you know?” Fantasy asked, “What proves that they aren’t real?”
You stammer that science and biology say that fairies aren’t real, so fairies aren’t real.
“What proves that they aren’t real?” the girl insists, “How do you know that they aren’t just an undiscovered species? Scientists discover new animals and plants that ‘don’t exist’ every day, so what is to say that Fey aren’t just hidden well?”
You wrack your brain for a good argument and feebly throw what you found, stating that it was simply impossible.
“Going into space was impossible,” Fantasy said cheerfully, enjoying having a new person to convert into a believer, “But look at where we are now: walking on the moon and proving that it isn’t made of cheese. And you’re in the mind of a Fan Fiction author, which is also supposedly impossible,”
Weakly insisting that the space travel theory was different and that fairies are as real as Hippogriffs, you are near the end of your argument.
“What’s to say that Hippogriffs aren’t real as well?” Fantasy argues, gesturing to a bookshelf and pulling out a hardback novel that you’re sure you’ve seen before. “In this book, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, you meet a real, live Hippogriff almost as soon as Harry gets to school for his third year,”
You still unconvincingly say that the Harry Potter series isn’t real, either, but are snapped at by Rowena.
“Don’t you dare say that Harry Potter isn’t real,” Knowledge snapped, “All of us know that Harry Potter is real, even the Furies, so you’d better stop insulting our favorite books or else I’ll sic Violence on you,”
You whimper slightly and swear that you’ll never say a word against Harry Potter again.
“Great,” Rowena tonelessly said, dragging you to the next Emoticlone.
This Emotiperson was wearing a red-magenta, revealing mini-mini-mini-dress (seriously, that thing was tiny! It barely covered her underwear, and it wouldn’t when she bent over.), fishnet tights, and stiletto thigh-high boots. She looked older than the others (who looked only eleven), perhaps maybe sixteen or eighteen. Her hair was longer and wavy, a magenta streak died in her bangs.
You tentatively say hello, which the Emoticlone greeted with a beautiful smile.
“Heya there,” she says, “Who’re you?”
You tell her your name and ask Knowledge who she is in a whisper.
“Oh, she’s Lust,” Intelligence said offhandedly, though still somehow using no emotion, “She won’t attack you, don’t worry. Since She only like one guy, Lust only likes one person,” You realize that Intellect means Athena, or SweetestSong23, by ‘She’.
“C’mon, we’d better get away from her in case He does something to make Her not like Him anymore,” Rowena says. You assume that ‘He’ means the person that SweetestSong23 likes.
The next emotions you see look more similar to each other than the other Emoticlones, yet they still seem like exact opposites.
One Emoticlone has her hair, which is around mid-back length, in a high, sporty ponytail. She seems to give off an air of confidence and spunkiness. She is wearing a white shirt underneath an orange jacket, white Capri's under an orange, somehow sporty-looking, skirt and orange tennis shoes with white laces.
The other had her hair, which was mid-back length as well, in a curtain, hiding her face. She made you depressed by just looking at her. She wore a similar outfit to her Emoti-twin, only with different colors. She wore a black shirt under a jacket, which was a depressing shade of blue. Her Capri's were black, under an elegant, blue, knee-length skirt, and she wore blue Ballet shoes with black ribbons. She kept self-consciously pulling her jacket around her, as though to cover herself more, even though her shirt wasn’t the least bit revealing.
“The Confidence Sisters,” Intelligence said simply, “The blue is Low Self-Confidence and the orange is High Self-Confidence,”
You introduce yourself before asking why High Self-Confidence was hiding in the background.
“Athena doesn’t have much self esteem,” Knowledge said simply before dragging you off to meet who-knows-who-else.
The next Emoticlone wore a long, bright purple top over skinny jeans and black boots. Her hair was held back by a purple headband, with a purple flower with a rhinestone in the middle, on the side.
“Shut up, you smart ass!” the Emoticlone yelled, glaring at something on the chrome wall, gripping the edge of her chair angrily.
You are immediately offended; what did you ever do to her?
Rowena closed her eyes and slapped her forehead, letting her hand slide slowly down her face. The purple Emoticlone seemed to just notice you and your offended expression and winces slightly.
“Oh, sorry about that!” the Emoticlone apologized, her hand on the back of her neck nervously as she smiled sheepishly, her eyes closed, “It’s not you; I wasn’t talking to you. I have to say whatever She wouldn’t dare ever say out loud; occasionally I even say a few things that an eleven-year-old shouldn’t even know the meaning of, such as many, many swear words,” She held out her hand. “I’m Brutal Honesty.”
You shake her hand tentatively, hoping that she doesn’t yell something again anytime soon. Suddenly, Brutal Honesty looks attentively at your face.
“Your nose is off-center, you’ve got an ugly pimple right above your left eyebrow, and your eyes are too close together,” she said in one breath, pointing out each fault in your facial features that she named.
You immediately ask for Knowledge to introduce you to another Emoticlone, to which she swiftly agrees.
“Here’s Innocence,” Intellect said softly after a few moments of walking, pointing at a sleeping Emoticlone, “I mentioned her before,”
This Emoticlone looked around the age of six instead of twelve. She was sleeping on a little bed of blankets, smiling slightly. Her hair was up in high pigtails with pink hair ties. Innocence was wearing a light pink t-shirt with a picture of an adorable kitten on it inside of a heart, a darker pink skort (skirt with shorts underneath), and pink sneakers.
Suddenly, Innocence woke up, sleepily rubbing her eyes. “Who’re you?” she asked in a childish voice.
You tell her your name. You can’t help but love her; she’s so sweet and innocent.
“Hey, there, Lucy,” Rowena said nicely, showing a bit of emotion, “How did you sleep?”
“Good,” answered Lucy, smiling sweetly, “I had a really nice dream. I was flying on a huge dove’s back, and when we landed, a girl that Athena was mad at before said sorry to Athena, and Athena accepted! Did it really happen yet, Ro?”
“She already accepted her apology, remember? About a month ago,” Rowena said.
“Alrighty,” Innocence said, jumping up, “I’m gonna go to my world now. I’m gonna bring Fantasy so we can play with the Nymphs and fairies and ride on unicorns and be princesses!”
As Innocence skipped merrily away, you ask what Innocence mean by ‘her world’.
“All of us Emotipeople have our own domain,” Knowledge said, emotionless yet again, “Innocence and Fantasy, like many other Emoticlones, have a doorway between their kingdoms, theirs being an enchanted forest with fairies, nymphs, and unicorns. I share my domain with my sister Emoticlone, Wisdom. The door between our worlds is a secret bookshelf entrance; it’s hidden well enough to make Mystery proud. You can get to the Emotiworlds through that portal over there,” she gestured to the portal you noticed earlier, “But you need the Emotiworld’s ruler’s permission to get in. This is the hub of Athena’s mind, where we Emoticlones talk. The only Emoticlones that can enter another’s domain is the Head Emoticlone of any certain Emotion Department.
“Anger is the head of the Fury Department, but she’s been denounced her rights by being celled; she can only enter a Fury’s world, even if she was let loose. Wisdom is the head of the Mental Department, which is my department; she deals with all of us brain-related Emoticlones, including Mind Game. Sadness is the head of the Sad Department; she covers everyone from Low Self-Confidence to Depression. Happiness is the head of the Happy Department; she covers High Self-Confidence, Lust, and others. Brutal Honesty, the head of the State-Of-Mind Department, covers Innocence, Sadism, Fantasy, and who-knows-who else. Creativity covers anyone who doesn’t fit into another department, so she calls her department the ‘Etcetera Department’.” Intellect drags you off by your hand to meet the next Emoticlone.
This Emoticlone gave off a distinctly batty aura, wearing a neon blue shirt with a neon pink shrug. Her skinny jeans were nearly covered by a neon orange skirt and neon green leg warmers over purple clogs. Behind her left ear was a pencil, and behind her right was a paint brush. She wore a thick purple headband with purple alien-like antenna thingies on it. She was carrying a rather fat notebook under her arm.
“This is the infamous Creativity, head of the Etcetera Department,” Knowledge introduced. Creativity didn’t seem to notice, however; she seemed to have been struck with sudden inspiration, as she began writing something in her notebook, muttering to herself.
“’Good,’ answered Lucy, smiling sweetly, ‘I had a really nice dream.’…” mumbled, writing quickly in her notebook, balancing it precariously on her arm, being careful not to let any papers slip from inside it.
“Hello,” you said loudly to Creativity, making her jump, but not losing her book.
“Oh, hi,” Creativity said, smiling warmly, “Do you consent to me writing about you in this notebook? It may or may not be published on an online fiction site. I promise not to tell any distinguishing qualities about you, or any description of you at all. Do I have your permission to put you in this story?”
You nod dumbly, not really taking in any of Creativity’s swift speaking.
“Thanks,” Creativity said, now doodling dress designs near the back of the notebook. She kept writing notes in other areas of the notebook, as though it were perfectly organized. You and Intellect simply walk away.
“You know, She almost decided to call Creativity Fantasia,” Knowledge said, leading you to another Emoticlone, “But She finally decided that Fantasy and Fantasia are too alike, and she didn’t want to get confused. Stop,” she said suddenly, “Here’s Family,”
Family wore a magenta, old-fashioned maiden dress. (Think Belle’s dress at the beginning of Beauty and the Beast, only magenta instead of blue) She had her lips in a nervous, tight line and started biting her lips periodically. She had an overall conflicted look about her, shifting from foot to foot uncomfortably, looking around nervously.
You comment that Family looks conflicted.
“She is,” Rowena sighed sadly, “Athena is having, ah… to put it lightly, family troubles. Her parents only want her for food stamps and Her mother called her fat—that’s where her low self-esteem care from, and being surrounded by rather skinny girls in class didn’t help much. She’s stuck in the middle of a custody battle, and She’s praying that Her Grandparents are winning. It’s not that She doesn’t love Her parents; it’s just that She doesn’t want to be surrounded by smoke and who-knows-what else. Plus, Her four-year-old sister is hearing a biased view on what’s happening, since she’s living with Her parents still, and Her sister isn’t disciplined at all, just yelled at. Family is so confused; she doesn’t know whether to consider her birth parents, parents at all. Are Her grandparents Her parents, or are Her birth parents? Family doesn’t know who’s who, and the fact that She is living with her grandparents for now but visiting Her parents every other Saturday is just confusing her more,”
Your head is spinning. You didn’t know any of that about SweetestSong23! You just assumed that she was the happy-go-lucky little girl that could be serious when she wanted to be.
Without any warning, another brunette Athena-clone appeared, but you don’t think that this is another Emoticlone. This Athena-clone was wearing jean Capri's and a graphic tee, something you’d see on the average human being. What startled you the most was the fact that, upon entering Athena’s mind, the Athena-clone began sobbing.
Wisdom and many other Emoticlones ran over to the Athena-clone, but you’ve just realized that this is the real SweetestSong23, the real Athena. Upon noticing you, Athena ceases crying immediately.
“What are you doing here?” SweetestSong23 demanded, wiping her eyes and glaring hatefully at you, “How did you get here? Get out of my mind! This is my only safe haven, and now my own mind’s privacy has been taken away? Get out!”
Startled, you stammer that you don’t know how you got here and didn’t mean to intrude. When you see Athena continue crying, you tentatively ask what happened.
“Little Miss Perfect is at it again,” she sobbed into her hands, falling into a crouching position on the floor, “She just has to be in the spotlight, doesn’t she? She has to take everything away from me, doesn’t she? I thought she was my friend! I gave her a second chance! Does friendship mean nothing to her?”
An Emoticlone in a sports jersey and shorts patted Athena on the back. “Well it just proves that she’s not a real friend, doesn’t it? You’ve already given her two chances; don’t even give her a chance to strike out,” the Emoticlone says firmly. You assume that this Emoticlone is Sportsmanship.
“Well, maybe you can forgive her,” an Emoticlone in a pale yellow sundress and straw sunhat said tentatively, “Can you tell us what she did this time?” You guess that this Emoticlone is Kindness, Forgiveness, or something similar.
“She-she asked Him out behind my back!” Athena sobbed, “She was the second person I ever told about liking Him, and she asked him out! She’s the whole reason that the whole school knows about me liking Him in the first place! How could she do that?”
Lust and another Emoticlone gasped. The other Emoticlone wore a purple-pink mini-dress which was much longer in comparison Lust’s. You assume that she is Love. “How could she do that?” Love screeched, though keeping her voice down so as not to wake Innocence, who was curled up in a ball, asleep in a corner.
“Rowena, can you take them out of here, p-please?” Athena stammers, handing Knowledge a master key of sorts, “Put it in the keyhole of the portal and shove them through,”
Intellect nods and drags you through the crowd to the portal. Intelligence puts the key in and opens the portal. “Don’t make me push you,” she warns threateningly, and you immediately run through the chrome portal, hoping beyond all hope that you can get back to some form of sanity. When you return, you are in front of your computer screen, on SweetestSong23’s profile page, wondering if you just imagined your rather odd adventure.
Please do not do this game unless you intend to repost it.
This game has a funny/spooky outcome.
Don't read ahead...just do it in order! It's worth a try.
First..get a pen and paper. When you actually choose names, make sure it's people you actually know and go with your first instinct.
Scroll down one line at a time...and don't read ahead or you'll ruin it!
1. First, write the numbers 1 through 11 in a column.
2. Then, beside numbers 1 and 2, write down any two numbers you want.
3. Beside the 3 and 7, write down the names of members of the opposite sex.
4. Write anyone's name (like friends or family...) in the 4th, 5th, and 6th spots.
5. Write down four song titles in 8,9,10, and 11. (Go with your instincts!)
6. Finally, make a wish.
And now the key for the game...
1. You must tell (the number in space 2) people about this game.
2. The person in space 3 is the one that you love.
3. The person in 7 is one you like but can't work out.
4. You care most about the person you put in 4.
5. The person you name in number 5 is the one who knows you very well.
6. The person you name in 6 is your lucky star.
7. The song in 8 is the song that matches with the person in number 3.
8. The title in 9 is the song for the person in 7.
9. The tenth space is the song that tells you most about YOUR mind.
10. 11 is the song telling you how you feel about life
