Hello Everyone!
I’m Emily, otherwise known as TheStrong1.
The author of, There Goes My Life and I Want A Mommy.
I’ve wrestled with making this announcement but lately due to an increase of private messages. I’m just going to put this out there for all of you lovely readers.
I am taking an official break from writing - fanfiction.
While the majority of those who have private messages have been lovely. I have received a few that have had me debating with myself about pulling my stories and walking away completely.
I'm hoping this next break will be a short one. I know for you all it has been a long time since I have updated.
Yet I feel I owe everyone a brief explanation of my lack of updates in the past year, and slow updates from the year before that.
Both breaks sort of just rammed into each other. The pandemic tossed my home life into chaos as it did for everyone else. Suddenly, I was working from home, homeschooling and trying to wrangle a toddler. On top of that, worrying about my family members whose immune systems are compromised.
Last March to June, I started writing again, beta'ing, getting back into the rhythm of normal life. At the end of June my mother suffered a series of medical issues that led to her death in September. I am not okay. I do not know how long I will be taking a break for. These stories are so closely tied to her, she was my biggest muse and fan. Writing right now hurts. These were our stories.
Much love to all,
Emily (2021)
Hey Ya'll!
It's been a long time and I'm back, I'm tentatively back.
I'm dipping my toes back into the water. I can finally work on There Goes My Life without a knot in my throat or tears running down my face. I'm happy to say we are getting to the end of that story.
I have another story in the works - plotted out and just ready to be typed up. Although I won't start publishing it until I complete TGML. The next one will most likely be a story I pull to publish. Just a little head's up. I've got to start finding a way to make a dollar from this or - give it up.
I'm back at home for the next year and half until Oliver - that baby I just had enters 1st grade. Then it's either start earning some side money writing or going back to work full time, when I do that. I know I won't have time to write anymore, not with kids in Highschool, Middle and Elementary School.
I love and have missed you all,
Emily (2023)
