Hey y'all, I'm EveyDawn.
I've been writing for a long while now, been an editor for a college literary magazine... I've judged other people's work based on style and other merits, and I've had my style judged in a private setting by people who knew I'd bring them cookies for reading my work- not that it helped haha, everyone in that class was "on a diet"... sigh. Anyways, I've never put my work into the public, whether it was original or no- Fire and Fog is my first fanfic...
Lol I just realized that I've been calling people Bosh'stet under my breath at work, and have been grumpily muttering 'Keelah' when exasperated. Has somebody been playing a Mass Effect overmuch? Nah... Maybe.
So, I posted the latest chapter of Fire and Fog, technically yesterday for me (It'a almost 2 am in Cali) but I read it over earlier, and decided to change it. Just one scene, really... you can probably guess. I wanted to give them a little more intimacy. I felt like it was going too fast. Well, I hope whomever reads this takes another look. It's ch. 19, by the way. Thanks for being awesome!
So, I was listening to my radio today and that song "Where is the love" by the Black Eyed Peas came on. I was reading a ME1 fanfic and the verse
But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah
comes on, and I'm like, 'Well, someone should play this for the council..." LOL
So... Fire and fog has gotten away from my original intention. It's already half again as large as I thought it'd be, and I don't think I'm making great... chronological progress. Know what I mean? Sooooo...I'll be skipping forward a bit. Not doing quite so many omg noncanon sidequests, unless somebody wants to pm me something specific that they'd like to see. There ya go.
I've also been toying with the idea of doing a ME fic, possibly an AU, but probably not... Idk yet. As much as I enjoyed canon, I feel like you get one good conversation with each squadmate, and they're with you for a year, or a friken long time to just have one important convo especially with your LI. K that got a little ranty, sorry. Lol. And I hate the crucible. Hate it. Seriously!! And moving on. It'd be a Shakarian fic, I wrote up a dossier for an AU Shepard- no First contact war, instead first contact is established by Batarians who raid Luna. o.O Or, another concept was that the Krogan rebellions hadn't ended in a fight with the Turians, bc they hadn't been discovered. K the second idea just popped into my head, but I kinda like it. What do you think? Opinions welcome whether positive or negative. If you like the ideas be sure to give credit, idc if you use em' just let me know so I can take a look at your work :)
Today at work, while doing some mind numbing task, I was thinking about Fire and Fog, then my mind wandering I started thinking about Mass effect, and Urdnot Wrex, how his throne is basically a pile of rubble and the thought crossed my mind that Krogan really have problems. I mean, in all likelihood, the reason there are so many pyjak running around the place is because there's so much room for them to hide, and breed... and breed. Then I thought about the Female camps, and I was like, "Those are probably much cleaner." That is when, through minimal fault of my own, a hilariously horrible image popped into my mind. Krogan housekeepers. They wear armor similar in appearance to French maids. Yeah. Not pretty.
School. Enough said. I won't be posting as frequently. Sorry for the long wait.
Not really an Update, but...This is kinda spoilery
So I've been doing an agressive/circle friendly mage F!hawke playthrough... I just passed Dissent and was being mean to Anders- cause my current hawke hates that he's posessed, and he's so anti circle- when the option to tell him to leave comes up. I was like... Prolly won't actually go anywhere. And I chose it. Well, he left. I would have been fine with it except that I want/need him for one of the DLCs... so I reloaded.
So surprised though! I thought since he's such a part of plot, he wouldn't go anywhere.
