Update: 7th March 2014

Wow! Who would've thought it? As of today, it has officially been a year since I posted that first tentative chapter of When Tomorrow Came on Fanfiction- how time flies! I can't thank everyone enough on here who has taken the time to read, review, follow and favourite my work- you are all such inspiring, wonderful writers and I love and thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. Your guidance, support, encouragement, criticism and general words of wisdom have helped me through some pretty challenging times over the past year (sitting final exams, starting Uni etc) as well as helping me to develop as a writer and I just want to take the time to say how grateful and thankful I am to every single one of you. You are all incredible and I hope that the friendships I've created through writing for this site will be able to stay and grow for many years to come.

Much love,

Phoenixflames12 (who is now trying not to get emotional!) :)

Update: 26th April 2014

I am now on Wordpress! I've got a blog which you are all very welcome to have a look at and comment on:http:// (Confessions of a fanfiction writer)

Much love,

Phoenixflames12 xxx

Update: 23rd November 2014

After a writing hiatus of goodness knows how long, I am hopefully back in business! Thank you to everyone who has stuck by me thus far and I hope to see you all very, very soon. :)

Much love,

Phoenixflames12 xxxx

Update: 28th March 2015

The story 'They Tried to Kill My Brothers' (WW1 AU featuring Combeferre) has been deleted purely because I highly doubt I will ever go back to it. On a brighter note, I am now on AO3 (same pseudonym- how predictable!) and am in the process of writing and putting up fics there which don't have designated fandoms on fanfiction.net- such as 'BBC Poldark'. It would be lovely to see some of you over there!

Much love,

Phoenixflames12 xxx

Username: Phoenixflames12

Age: 20

Country of origin: UK (home switches between the wettest county in Scotland- Dumfries and Galloway and the wettest city in Scotland- good old Glasgow!)

Short synopsis (Complete re-write 22nd August 2013- feel free to ignore if this stuff bores you, I honestly don't mind!)

2nd year College of Arts student at Glasgow University studying English Lit, Scottish Lit and English Language. (Don't even ask me about the reading- just… just

don't…) I am a triplet who lives in the aforementioned wettest county in Scotland (Dumfries and Galloway)- a title which could

be seen as quite ironic as we've actually had the first 'heatwave' over here for about 10 years!

I fell in love with Les Miserables from the moment I saw the trailer for the 2012 film on Youtube during a rehearsal break for my senior school production in

December 2012 (we did Oliver! and now I really, really wished we had done Les Miserables!) and then listened/watched 'Do You Hear The People Sing?' on the

25th Anniversary concert via Youtube and have now read the Brick and cried a lot (especially during Les Amis de l'ABC and the 5-6th June

Barricade Day) and am now in the final chapters of my novel 'Out Of the Darkness' which continues on the Amis' journey from the terrors

of the Barricade and their attempts to try and create a new life for themselves in England and picks up from when my first piece 'When

Tomorrow Came' left off and working on a Modern AU Dystopia titled 'Fallen Angels'.

My work covers a variety of fandoms such as BBC Robin Hood, Next to Normal, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, The Fault In Our Stars and my new found

obsession (although nothing can quite come close to Les Miserables!) Phantom of the Opera so any and all constructive criticisms, suggestions etc are like

chocolate to my brain! Also, if you don't review, feel free to PM me! (I feel special when I get PM's!) :)

Much love and thank you to all those who have believed in my writings (you know who you are!),

You tell yourself that if they see you cry, it will hurt them, and you will be nothing but a Sadness in their lives, and you must not become a mere sadness, so you will not cry, and you say all of this to yourself while looking up at the ceiling, and then you swallow even though your throat does not want to close and you look at the person who loves you and smile.' - Hazel Grace (The Fault in Our Stars)

Combeferre Marius Pontmercy (Les Miserables- A Group that Barely Missed Becoming Historic)

My favourite couples (Les Miserables)

'Do you hear the people sing? Singing the song of angry men, it is a music of a people who will not be slaves again!'

Marius and Cosette Enjolras and Combeferre Enjolras and Eponine Courfeyrac and Gavroche (based purely on Fra Fee and Daniel Huttlestone in the 2012 film) Joly and Bossuet Enjolras and Grantaire Marius and Eponine Courfeyrac and Jehan Jehan and Bahorel- (go and read some of the stories on them ASAP if this doesn't appeal-No one hurts my flower is a brilliant one to start!) Grantaire and Gavroche Combeferre and Grantaire (another strange one I know, but there's a brilliant edit on Facebook which has slowly turned me round to thinking this could work!) Combeferre and Courfeyrac Joly and Muschietta and Bossuet Montparnasse and Eponine Feuilly and Gavroche Courfeyrac and Eponine Combeferre and Eponine Enjolras and Cosette (another seriously AU one, but even though these two have no connections or interactions in the book, musical or film; I seriously like the idea of them as a sort of brother/sister pairing!) Yes, I know I'm weird... :) Feuilly and Azelma Azelma and Jehan

My favourite couples (BBC Robin Hood)

'We are not just 6 outlaws living in a forest. We are the spirit of England and that lads... that is this country's only hope!' 'We are Robin Hood!'

Will and Djaq Robin and Marian Will and Alan Robin and Much Will and Marian (seriously AU I know- but Harry and Lucy were really cute together!!) :) Guy and Marian Guy and Alan Little John and Alice Will and Luke (brotherly love only though- no slash!)

My favourite couples (BBC The White Queen- I know there isn't any fanfiction for this amazing show yet- but I can hope; can't I?)

'Edward lives if there is no tomorrow. Richard as if he wants no tomorrow. And George as if somebody should give it to him for free'. 'We are the three sons of York! How can we be divided by one woman?'

Richard and Anne George and Isabelle Edward and Elizabeth Magaret Beaufort and Stafford Elizabeth and Anthony (same pairing as Enjolras and Cosette- brothers/sisters) The 3 sons of York (Edward V, George Duke of Clarence and Richard Duke of Gloucester later Richard III)

My favourite couples (The Fault in Our Stars- John Green)

'Maybe "Okay" will be our "Always"'

Augustus Waters and Hazel Grace Augustus Waters, Isaac and Hazel Grace Hazel and Isaac

Other Interests

I've played the piano since I was 8 and haven't really got very far but am now trying to teach myself how to play Les Miserables- great, great fun! I'm a recently converted theatre addict and I've been in three school productions (West Side Story- fantastic fun with lots of dancing!), (Coram Boy- dark, quite creepy at some points but an epic piece to work on with a fantastic cast!) and (Oliver! Lots of dancing, lots of singing and tons of laughter!!) I write... A LOT!! I've had stuff published in school magazines and it's a running joke at how much time I spend reading but I just adore the escapism it gives me and getting into characters heads is my idea of heaven!

*'Dulce et decorum est; pro patria mori' - it is sweet and right to die for your country*

Possibly my favourite quote of all time especially when putting it in a Les Miserables context- I can't help but think of Enjolras- oh my poor blonde revolutionary; it is so ironic that when you die your creator suddenly decides to have a massive fangirl attack about how tragically beautiful you are- RIP Apollo and Les Amis de l'ABC- your sacrifice for a free France will never be forgotten!!

Enjolras is vicious. Enjolras is angry. And above all, Enjolras is an idealist; and there is absolutely nothing more dangerous.

Important Information Concerning Derek-the-whistle-boy!

In the LM movie, there's a scene where an unnamed barricade boy wakes the barricade and warns them that the National Guard is coming by whistling. We, the fandom, have christened him Derek. (Don't ask why. Just go with it.) If you believe that Derek deserves more recognition for saving the barricade, copy and paste this into your profile.

('Derek' the whistle boy is played to perfection by Jonny Purchase and definitely deserves more recognition!)

Like Horses

Like horses, words are wilful and submit

So far to rhyme and metre as their use

Is known to him whose hand controls the bit.

Jades like 'Superb', 'Fantastic', 'Fabulous',

Deaf to all shouts of advertising men,

Could, if the right voice spoke amid the clamour,

Still prick their ears and neigh and prance again;

A cunning horseman might save even Glamour.

As for those unspoilt thoroughbreds who burn,

With soft impatience in the stable, blowing

Proudly through widened nostrils, for their turn

To shake the ground with thunder of their going,

Until then, to reveal is to defame them,

And I, their would be rider, shall not name them.

John Penman (1987)

And finally: (stolen from mylittlelifedoesntcountatall- hopefully she will forgive me!)

'I'll love you, dear, I'll love you
Till China and Africa meet,
And the river jumps over the mountain
And the salmon sing in the street,

And the seven stars go squawking
Like geese about the sky.
