Hey there! No real idea as to what I should put here at the moment, seeing as I don't really have anything worth noting, but I figured that I should probably put something here other than the 'yo' that sat here for a year.
Anyways when it comes to my writing I'm still incredibly new and as such am an ametuer. But! What I have noticed is that I've gotten quite a bit better since I first started, and that is evidenced by taking a look at the first chapter I released of 'Naruto the Fox Boy' and comparing it to whatever has been updated most recently. In this case that would be the sixth chapter of, 'Ghosts of the Past'. Now I still struggle a lot when it comes to writing since there's still a lot that I have yet to grasp, and that can be such a pain, but I've been trying to keep getting better as I go.
In regards to what my writing style is, I've got to say I haven't really developed one yet. At least, not a complete one. I typically write in the Naruto fandom, usually doing crossovers, but I don't really have enough stories up for that claim to be of any significance. Regardless, my aim is to write crossovers centered around Naruto for many of the lesser done catagories, such as, Black Lagoon, Over the Garden Wall, Akame ga Kill, Transistor, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and many others. The ones I listed are ones that I will for sure do at some point in the future, but as of yet many of them won't be done until I feel I'm a good enough author to do so. For example, I don't feel like I have anywhere near the writing skill nor mental capacity to write for a masterpiece like Cowboy Bebop and do it any real justice. As such those will likely only come after I've managed to draw in a secure fan-base as an author on FF.
What I think currently holds me back: Currently I am struggling with the thought of writing Naruto crossovers due to wanting to write for a cannon Naruto, but at the same time wanting to put him in roles that aren't exactly on the 'moral high ground' such as him being a Pseudo-Antagonist towards the main characters of a crossover world's Protagonists. I just like the thought of him not having to always be on the side of 'good' in every single crossover he's in, while at the same time not really being a bad guy himself. In other words I really like the idea of Naruto being a third party in the crossover worlds I'll likely involve him with, and use that angle to let him interact with the world as a whole and write how that effects all parties involved.
One of the main reasons I fails to update my story 'Ghosts of the Past' is that recently I've noticed how Gary Stu he is, and while I do make sure that he isn't a cliché Gary Stu that has everything deemed 'awesome' wrapped around his character like a blanket, thusly making it lame, I have noticed at the same time I haven't really given him anything that identifies him as being Naruto and that's really killed my mood towards wanting to continue writing it. I mean the comments I've received towards that story have been almost entirely positive and praising the character interaction I can achieve, but that doesn't necessarily lessen the fact that my Naruto is indeed basically a Gary Stu. I really don't want to be just another author that writes what they think is cool, and ends up giving Naruto this lame ass character as a result.
I want to be a good enough author to be able to write a Naruto crossover without completely butchering his character to fit the story, and that's the problem! The roles I want to have Naruto fill don't exactly match his personality, so a huge portion of what's currently holding me back as an author is having to try and think of ways to explain a deviation from Naruto's canon personality. Thats surprisingly difficult to do. Especially for someone like me who hasn't followed the Naruto series since it came out. With how many chapters/episodes there are its difficult to write with a full understanding of what I'm writing about. I've read hundreds of chapters throughout the Manga to learn, but there's still hundreds more and so a lot of my Knowledge in regards to the series storyline comes from reading years of fanfiction on this very site.
Anyways, I'll update this some more at a later date. For anyone reading this, please feel free to send me a PM about anything you wish to discuss, or any questions you might want to ask. I'm always willing to discuss things with others.
