I like to read and to create my own stories, lyrics, poems and riddles - in German & English - in the last few years mainly in English...
About fanfiction, literature etc. - I have enjoyed the Harry Potter books and other literature from a young age, but I'm not blind either to good and bad sides of characters in those works.
- Hogwarts - it is a fantastic setting, but not the *safest place on earth*...
- no anti-bullying-policy
- to few professors
- no counselling or psychological help available for students and staff members.
- existing bias and prejudices which enabled at least 3 civil wars in the last 100 years...
- Death Eaters had come from all houses, but only Slytherins will be openly condemned, the rest will not be mentioned in public settings...
- it shouldn't be able to held 2 or more powerful positions at the same time
- Having a headmaster and his deputy from the same house
- no mandatory health exam at the start of term or helpful reading material for students in their common rooms - regarding Wizarding Law, Etiquette, ...
- the Marauders; I'm no fan of the Marauders for a variety of reasons
they were bullies, they never apologised sincerely for their bullying to any of their victims nor did they try to atone for it; "he exists"
1.) James Potter, according to canon did he grow up; at least he should be a good father to young Harry Potter *but* he didn't bother to apologise to any of his victims or try to make it up to them; especially not to Severus Snape, whom he bullied *for 7 years* - and even lied to his wife Lily about it.
- he was a creepy stalker, but let's overlook it, because he is handsome, rich and a Quidditch star...
He may have died as a hero, but we should believe that
a) a Marauder didn't secured his house, after learning a lunatic will kill you and your family
b) allows his "pregnant" wife to stay with him and their toddler, instead of sending them to a secret location...
c) didn't carry his wand with him 24/7 after Voldemort had already tried to kill them...
2.) Remus Lupin - a spineless enabler, who didn't apologise or atone for his bullying or really cared that his friends used him as a weapon or endanger school and village, by letting him free on the full moon nights...
Didn't try to had any form of contact with Harry after he had been orphaned, not even *after* Harry started Hogwarts...
Should have informed the staff members & Albus Dumbledore about Sirius' animagusform, his insider knowledge about the secret passages in- and outside of Hogwarts.. and instead only teaching Harry the Patronus - make this an obligatory lessons for *all 7 years* as the Dementors were stationed at Hogwarts...
He didn't care enough to took his wolfsbane on time - how hard is it to send a house elf to the Potions Master and asked for his Potion *before* breakfast starts?
Impregnate Nymphadora Tonks and then tried to left her and his unborn child to fend on their own; should Lupin didn't want kids, there would be magical and muggle solutions for this...
3.) Sirius Black - I can't stand him for a variety of reasons;
a)he is an overgrown man-child
b)he was a cruel bully, who attacked anyone who didn't suits his worldview (favoured victim: Severus Snape!)
c) trying to get his classmate killed on at least 2 different occasions, without feeling any remorse about it
d)never learned from his mistakes or moving on...
e) handed his *orphaned, injured, traumatized godson* over to a virtual stranger - without checking him (identity, intentions,...) to hunt down and kill Peter Pettigrew
f) he realised very soon - either Winter 1981 or early Spring 1982 in Azkaban, that Dementors can't sense animagi; but instead of breaking out and looking for his missing godson, he *stays 12 years in prison*... yeah, he really cared for Mini-James
g)being reckless and thoughless, which got him send through the veil of Death in year 5...
4.) Peter Pettigrew: sadistic (don't underestimate him!), clever, dangerous and the betrayer of the Potters.
5.)Lily Evans-Potter: in my eyes a bad friend, who exploited Severus, until she didn't need him any longer... spoiled and sheltered - no equal friendship with Severus Snape... - watched her best friend being attacked by the Marauders - didn't stop them but begin unconciously to flirt with Potter during the fight...
She should have stunned him and his buddy, disarming them, before informing a professor...
Worthy of devotion - not at all... ;/
6.) Hogwarts staff - did they ever do their jobs?
7.) Hogwarts needs a strong anti-bullying policy; a ward that would prevent the usage of wands by students outside of the class rooms...
8.) magical restraining orders against bullies
9.) possibility to study the courses with a tutor, instead of going to regular classes...
10.) possiblities to transfer to other schools, should the need arise...
11.) better information about school, society and laws for all students...
Severus Snape wasn't a saint, he become a member of a terroristic gang during his teenager years *but* he changed. Overhearing part of a prophecy and submitting it to Voldemort (How and why... never told explicity in canon!; therefore room for speculation...!) the Potters and Longbottoms went into hiding. Offered *anything* for the protection of the Potters - got exploited by both sides, forced to kill his boss in book 6 (unbreakable vow) and had to look after Harry Potter since he had started Hogwarts - never getting a word of thanks or a compliment for good work, whereas the Marauders got praised without reason.. and their flaws overlooked by the order...
I wouldn't have done what Severus Snape had done in the books, rather find a way to get rid of a certain dark mark, grab the toddler and moving abroad... ;)
Albus Dumbledore is for me a meddling sociopath, who shouldn't be near students, children and adults - his prejudiced views created *2 dark lords* and he enjoys to use guilt to manipulate *anyone* and to keep any secrets close to his chest. Blind belief in prophecies...
