I'm back. Hopefully life doesn't throw me so many curve balls like it's done recently.

In 2010, I lost my grandmother, the last of my grandparents and the woman I admired most in the world, and my cousin within 6 weeks of each other. Last year, my husband, whom I met when I was 16, wed 11 years later and was married to for 15 years, took his own life after a short, severe battle with depression. Those types of family reunions I can do without again for a very long time.

For my dear readers who think I've fallen off of the face of the planet, I'm so very sorry about not updating my stories for so long.

On August 2, 2010 I was informed that my grandmother had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We were told that at her age they could do nothing more than help her manage her the pain. They said we had 2-3 weeks. We got a little over 6. She passed from this world on Sept. 15, 2010 in her sleep.

To add to my heartache, I also lost one of my cousins to a sudden heart attack on August 10th. He was a Type 1 insulin dependent diabetic who had been suffering from a number of health conditions. He was 46 and had been living with diabetes for almost exactly 34 years.

With a new year comes new life. On Jan. 8th, my nephew became a daddy and I became a great aunt for the first time. To add to the joy, my cousin had a little boy on July 25th.

With the joys came heartache that I never imagined I would have to endure. My husband was forced out of his job on June 3, 2011 after trying so hard to please a boss who seemed to take great delight in crushing my husband's self esteem. After being told that he was useless at a job he'd been doing for over 25 years, my husband became very depressed and when he wasn't getting face to face interviews, his depression tail spinned out of control. I didn't realize how bad it was until it was too late. I never believed he would do what he did, but on August 27th I became a widow.

2012 will have to be a better year with a wedding (cousin) and another baby (my niece this time) on the way.

I am trying to get back into writing, but it has been difficult. I've never left a story unfinished before, however, it may take a while for the updates to happen. Thank you all for understanding.
